Ike will be back. There's no reason to cut him - he has a fan following, a unique moveset that couldn't really be transferred over to anyone else, and remains a popular character within his own franchise - see the final Spotmass map in Awakening.

Roy being cut one time under very different circumstances doesn't mean that Fire Emblem is somehow limited to two characters.

I highly doubt it, Marth has nothing to do with Tharja so I'd think that Sakurai would pull someone closer in familiarity to him as a costume change, or pick one of his other looks from other games.

Ike's moveset is unique within Smash Bros, but there's really no reason Chrom couldn't inherit it. The whole idea that Ike's slow doesn't really have any basis in the FE games themselves, so Chrom inheriting that moveset wouldn't be any weirder than Ike himself getting it in the first place. They'd just need to change Aether's animation and part of his basic stance. Really, even if they just update Ike to Radiant Dawn, they'll need to change Aether's animation.

Still, I'd be for keeping Ike and just making the default male/female Avatars the Awakening representation.

This is what I'm hoping for. I mean they put more than 2 characters in for most of the other franchises. Granted FE is not as insanely popular as Mario, Zelda, or Pokemon, but it's certainly deserving of 3 characters if fucking Starfox has 3.

Still going through all the media released and I really like the different settings of this stage, I thought it might be cool if there were certain weather effects that could change up the game a little, like clouds going across the stage to make it harder to see other characters or rain to make the terrain more slippery.
