PS4 | Killzone Shadow Fall - Shadow Marshal Tactical Combat Tutorial (new gameplay)

Looks very clean, but I have to ask - what's up with the stuttering? Will it be present in the game, it's the only complaint I've got.

Wish this game had vehicles. Thats what i love about Halo and no other fps developer gets it

After playing Borderlands 2 recently, I don't like vehicles in FPS games. When I would get vehicles in Battlefield it was mostly to get somewhere fast, or destroy stuff. I don't remember if Socom 3 had vehicles but I know that map size increase ruined Socom. Not all games need to have huge maps in MP. For SP there will probably be vehicles, mechs, and aircraft to control.

Yes. Read the OP on this thread and you should be good to go!

Wow. Killzone and Star Ocean share a lot of basic story concepts in common. Both have stories about Earth becoming uninhabitable and the need to search for other planets to colonize.

This is just from reading the start, I'm sure it differs quite a bit from there. But I dig that sort of premise, I think you can do a lot with it.
Maybe these sci-fi game designers got a lot of inspiration from Star Trek.

Great vid. Seeing all those shadow marshall tools makes me want to play on hard so I can make good use of them, as opposed to playing an easier difficulty where all the enemies are pushovers making stuff like the shield and shock pulse trivial side stuff that never gets used. I like it when a game makes me feel like I need everything available to me in order to win.

And yet in the same list (about CoD Ghosts)

So yeah...CoD Ghosts= Same thing as previous games. But it's brilliant! Buy! Killzone? More like Shitzone amirite?

Holy fucking shit...are you kidding me right now?

I cannot express in words how angry that just made me....holy fuck. How can someone downplay Shadow fall as generic and under the same breath praise Call of duty? how is that even possible?

Call of duty ghost is the epitome of fucking generic! Shadow fall is taking the series in a new direction and yet its labelled generic?

fuck this shitty industry sometimes

That whole premise about Earth becoming uninhabitable and colonizing other places is a really frequently used concept I think, so it's no surprise. Really I think most sci-fi stories that have humans living in space use this trope.

Yeah, if the game is balanced well, it has the potential for having a very unique experience on harder difficulties- it could make you rely on your equipment in different ways, and possibly have different combinations of uses. I hope it ends up like this.

True. I haven't had experience with that many sci-fi stories, but it seems that this is a pretty common premise. I like it though.

I'm proud this game has been developed in my country. Looks spectacular and I have decided this will be my first PS4 game...and I don't even like FPS games that much, lol

immediately noticed it as well. Wondering if its because the unlocked framerate :/

we really can't tell since Youtube can only show a max 30fps.

Noticed it this time when viewing it, I honestly don't know if that's the game or just the video, I'm not the most sensitive to stuff like that.

Guys, I think it has to do with the encoding and/or youtube. Here is the gamersyde video of the single player campaign. It's offscreen, but it's buttery smooth. Play it on any player that supports GPU acceleration (VLC sucked for me, worked really well on quicktime)

Gentlemen, what your looking at there is a four sided glass pyramid... it looks weird because it's also highly reflective...

It's not a glitch, it's architecture :)

The left side isn't a pyramid at all, it's the edge of the higher elevated ground. That "reflection" is actually just a smaller building.

Holy shit this looks good.

Can't believe I have this just sitting next to my DS4 under my TV, waiting for it's home on the 15th.

Can't believe I have to wait an extra 2 weeks to play this while you people get it on the 15th!

And then there's going to be a ton of threads I can't jump into because of all the potential spoilers.

With so many different routes through the level (Still seeing new ones in this video) and the different Owl modes this really looks like you'll have a lot of control over playing it in the style you playing.

After queuing my downloadable games this will likely be the first game I play.

I think this game will be quite easy unless you rake up the difficulty. Kind of like tlou with listen mode on normal vs hard/survivor without ... but that had its story to hold it up and the fun mp...

hope people don't diss on the game calling it too easy because they didnt take the time to play it on hard/(whatever harder mode is available) and give mp a honest shot.

Halo does it really well though, especially in single player. The vehicular combat in Halo CE was awesome

As a general advice, I recommend people to not play games on easy or normal mode. Always go for the hard difficulty mode. You're in for a though challenge with this setup

You will see gif soon.

EDIT :

Graphics are unbelievable. Like some sort of interior design simulator lol.

To the poster above, yes you can do a death from above stealth kill. He drops down on enemies with a knife to their throat/back/chest.

I think this is the first next-gen (non-bundle) game to crack the top annual 100 at amazon US, I believe GAF deserves royalties.

Just vote with your wallet.

I know I'd trust my friend's opinion on a game way more than a critic I don't know or a critic with an agenda.

Word of mouth can help a game much more than review scores sometimes. Look at Demons Souls.

This is the only kind of FPS I enjoy. Single player, tactical, player options as to approach, some stealth, great atmosphere, killer graphics and no tie to realism or military scenarios. I don't really play many FPS games at all but the Bioshock and Half-Life games are great to me. I have never played any KZ game before. I was getting this game just because I wanted the big exclusive graphical showcase for my PS4. This is the first vid or preview that has me really excited to play it now.

Anywhere? If so, that's awesome. That's all I'll be doing. I only saw the zipline death over that specific tower structure early in this footage.

I think you won't be able to zipline anywhere you want, so I'm not sure if you will be able to stealth kill every enemy with it, but as you can see, you will be able to do so from time to time.

So be happy. :)
