Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

Usually i try to complete/platinum a game i loved after finishing its story but usually for some reason or another i buy another game and i end playing the new one and not completing the old one.
Usually... But not with vk3, i bought edf because it was(it still is) in offer and i like it, but at the first difficulty(the mission where you have to destroy the moving fortress, tips? How many missions has the game?) i returned to vk3 and i'm fully into it again.
Amazing how i can like a game with so bad reviews XD
I don't think i'll platinum it because it needs to arrive at level 99 and that would require a LOT of grinding, but i really want to do everything.

I won't buy vk3 gold though, no matter how much content developers add. Maybe if it reaches a 70 score on metacritic we'll get with ps+ but i doubt it, for sure we won't get vanilla vk3 lol.

I will buy for sure vk4, especially if developers will add these things:
-better native res graphics, sound effects and general polish
-less loadings(already promised for vk3 gold)
-more dating stuff, less perverted stuff(but i admit that i found it fun in vk3)
-dialogues made with non-static faces or with a comic book style or with portraits.
-teleports(they were present in vk2 battle stance, why not in vk3?)
-obviously more contents

It won't be the same without the prison setting though...

Wha what? My head is spinning with all this yes and no.

Wasn't RalchAC's post true?

Does PSN give gifts on birthdays?

It's my birthday today. xD
Happy birthday bro :D

About five hours. Eight to ten hours to 100%.

Around 6 hours. 12 hours to complete everything.

Approx. 7 hours. 14 to plat.

8 hours. 16 to get everything

Haha notice the +1 and +2 respectively? :)

I generally use this on every game to know how long it takes to finish a game

It seems accurate enough.

Happy birthday bro :D
Thanks! :)

Rayman Legends Invasion levels: where are they?!?

Did Ubisoft pull a fast one on Vita owners? Confirming they'll arrive but never deliver the goods?

Edit: Tweeted Ubi also. Such a great game, can't let 'em forget.

I was thinking of making a thread on this.

Seems like Ubi just said that to calm Vita owners from starting an uproar then we all forgot about it like they hoped.

A friend in other news site (it's and Spanish site, I'm still loyal to GAF! xD) sent me a PM telling me he has tweeted Ubi and they're still working with it... I just hope they release the patch before Christmas.

It could be PR though.

Any sites that swap gift cards 100%? Target's vita selection suuuucks
Try the Buy Sell Trade thread. Though you'd probably have to discount it 10% or so for any interest.

You might also try opting for using it at target.com and just paying for shipping

It'd be nice to compile voices asking for answers. I don't think its fair for Ubi to promise something to the consumers, then hold that back, with nary a word on delivering.

Its a painful omission, as the game is just top shelf quality on Vita. It looks and plays magically.

Someone of the PS blog said they're coming at some point in November. If by the end of the month they still don't show up I'll start to worry.

I was about to ask a question regarding the Rayman Legends stuff, funny enough. Sad they didn't add the levels yet. Well, that money will got to Tearaway and Ys eventually then

I looked really hard and it still doesn't look like there is a cable there to me. Its a retail Vita too, so there can't anywhere to plug anything in on the right side where its cut off.

You're right I re-watched and just saw shadows, didn't see it either my bad. Awesome :)

Its ok lol i have badluck with Sony hardware. I saved for a ps3 replacement which i will put towards a vita replacement now lol . Just waiting for the BF deal.

OH i forget to said Thanks!

Thanks! killatopak

I've had stuck analog sticks with one of my PS Vitas, however that was because I incorrectly reassembled it after taking it apart. One of the ribbons wasn't fully secured, so I guess it was shorting the analog stick. Obviously, the problem may not be the same with yours since its failing on its own.

Unfortunately, if you're not comfortable with disassembling your Vita, the only real way to get it fixed is to pay the fee.

Really sucks to hear about that, hopefully you can get it sorted without too much trouble. Reading online - another tip was to power off the vita (and power on) while holding the right stick to the right...others were mentioning wiping their vita.

Aytrial mentioned here opening the vita up to have a look if the ribbons are intact. If you have the screwdrivers there are a few decent guides online 'vita diss-assembly'.

Love it.

Hopefully they are still working on those Rayman Levels...want to pick that up eventually.

And Happy Birthday Killatopak!

Is there anyone who has FIFA 13 Vita who'd be willing to help me boost the multiplayer trophies? Specifically the 5 consecutive wins and online league trophies.

I really hope the Rayman levels get added sooner rather than later. Once I manage to level up to the final level of awesomeness to get my platinum trophy I'll probably be done with the game for a while (I love the game, but I've played it daily since release and I'm a bit tired of all the challenges now! That and there is one invasion level I did on the PS3 version that I don't really want to have to do again anytime soon!)

At the moment I'm also playing throough Batman. I'm just not sure what to think about it. I like the setting and the fact they've managed to make the gameplay formula work (for the most part) in 2D but I just really get annoyed at how useless the map is a lot of the time!

Also, I'm tempted to get a Vita TV. Does anyone know what the memory card/in built memory situation with it is? Does it use Vita memory cards or something else?

Yeah I've actually been looking for someone to do this with. I need those two trophies. But I also need the play 100 online games (which I know is a substantial more time commitment)

Edit: PM'd

From my understanding any Vita game needs to be specifically patched to support the Vita TV. If you're tied to a non-Japanese account there is a very real possibility that nothing will work until the Vita TV launches in that region. And even if a game is patched worldwide, a non-Japanese PS Store might not carry the data about which content is Vita TV compatible, so you may not be able to install anything to it.

This is all just speculation of course, but what I'm saying is we can't 100% know for sure that the Vita TV will work properly for importers for now, unless you plan on using it with a Japanese account.

I say wait for the 64gb to be released internationally, if you feel like you don't absolutely need it now then there is no point in importing it at a premium right now.

Thats a level headed way to go about it, yeah I think I will just stick to what I have and instead spend the money on more games and just delete the older ones.

Yes I really think people should wait if they don't have Japanise PSN accounts.

I've got EDF - how do i start progressing through it ?
Should i go for hardest difficulty from begining or go on easy first time and then repeat missions on veteran when i get more stuff ?

It#s the same with the new Vita 2000 model. It has 1gb build in memory and an additional slot for Vita memory cards but you can't use both simultanously. There is no way to use the 1gb build in memory after when a memory card is inserted.

I would recommend easy or normal. Each difficulty has an own trophy and you can't unlock the easier ones buy finishing on the higher difficulty.

WTF? Bumped to hard because normal was a little easy.

The idea with EDF is that you play on Normal to get the equipment to beat Hard, then you play Hard to get the equipment to beat Hardest, then you beat Hardest to get equipment to take on Inferno. Easy is for armor grinding.

Easiest mode. You can grind through it uber fast.

I was actually thinking about doing this and picking the female protagonist instead. I got to about August before just getting tired of it and stopping. A few months later I took a chance and got P4G. Loved P4G and ended up beating it with the True Ending within 3 weeks. You think I should just start over? It's been a while since I've played P3P so maybe I should start over anyway to get caught up with the story.

Don't remember exactly how the mission went, but in general you want a rocket launcher to take out the robots and the lasers on the fortress, and then approach it from behind and pound the glowing hatch when it opens. It all depends on which weapons you have though, if you've gotten lucky and found an weapon that's much higher level than your others it often worth trying even if it's not ideal for the situation.

If you're still having trouble you probably need to go back and grind for better gear. In particular, you should look for earlier missions you can handle on higher difficulty since that will give better loot.

And it's got 60 missions.

I dunno, the whole bit about being able to create a touch pointer by clicking the sticks sounds a lot like contingency plan for unsupported games. I mean, even if officially supported games resort to pointer for touch puzzles and the like, it should appear when needed not be dependent on user knowing to activate it.

killatopak already pointed it out but... I think we have the outline of a skill chart right here. I'm gonna start the game over to see where I chart on the VitaBoards.
At least one of the above hasn't actually played it.

9 hours. 18 if you want to unlock everything.
I haven't actually played it either.

I really need to beat P3P one of these days but I hate Tartarus. Anyone have any tips?

I want to have a Very Easy run with the female character (for the SEES social links, mostly) too. But i'll wait a little, once I finish P4G I'll need a rest. Those JRPGs are very long and Tartarus is worse than the TV.

Plaintum'ed VLR.

Read back through the spoilers.
I think I'd agree more with 999 wasn't essential, but would've potentially enhanced a couple moments.

Then again, the wikipedia plot summary and other material I looked at before/during my playthrough gave me enough that I had figured out some of the major "spoilers" before they were revealed and I knew enough about 999 to get some of the enhancement without actually playing it.

Time to go read up on VLR to see if some of the more obtuse plot points are explained in a summary somewhere. :)
If any of you have these answers I want (if they exist), please point me in there direction:
(1) One of the secret documents claims you can figure out who Phi actually is if you "think about it". I don't know if anything more than some of the speculation talked about in earlier spoiler filled posts in this thread is the most known about the subject?
(2) What the hell is the deal with Kyle at the end of the game where he knows stuff he shouldn't and apparently can't be told things because it will erase futures and such... do we know what happened with him having a body to jump into in 2028?

Geez that was fast? did you use a guide the whole way?

Are there any more NA PSN sales planned? like black friday or holidays? was there one last year?

With the $10 promotion I have $60 in my wallet that are ready to be used.

Most of the time, nobody knows anything in advance about SCEA unless it's on the blog or something. We can barely get the month's content for PS+ listed, let alone guaranteed dates for the release (though usually it's in chronological order).

Finding out a sale is coming ahead of time? Not likely.
There was a Thanksgiving sale back in 2011...

Hey guys, hoping someone will be nice enough to help me out a little.

I like my Vita, it's a sexy piece of hardware with a beautiful screen. It's just I don't play it. I thought I'd have time in between my lectures to play it, but I just don't, always just end up browsing the internet on my phone or something else. So, I'd rather sell it to someone that will actually use it. The front of the system itself is pretty much flawless, as it's had a screen protector since the beginning. The back has some very light scratches though.

How much should I realistically be looking to get for this:
Vita with all cables
32gb memory card
Persona 4 Golden
Lumines
Mortal Kombat
Rayman Legends
Hard case

Any help is appreciated, and sorry if this is the wrong place, but I figured you'd guys would be the best bet to get an approximate value.

Well... I dunno. 200$ could be a good price (100-120 for the Vita + 40-50 for the card + 10-15 each game).

Both Lumines and MK are pretty cheap nowadays, so you can't ask that much money. P4G is more expensive and Rayman is kinda new... the case could be "gifted" xD.

I think there is a trade thread in GAF. You could put there an offer.
