PS4 already in the wild

So i texted the user who had the ps4 pics on Instagram he had his phone on their . Here is his response

WTF

So basically he admitted they are stolen goods. Sure THIS guy didn't steal them, but his friend did for him. This guy might be alright but his friend is in trouble. Good luck with that. $800 worth of goods do not just get written off.

Man, that's so fucked up. Fucking hell, how this can even happen, don't they have to ship it back to manufacturer if it's marked as defective? I hope there will be ebough to cover the pre-orders.

A pallet of $400 consoles doesn't just get written off as defective.

I hope they ship on Tuesday

Even if they did, UPS will take their sweet ass time with the package. They usually deliver by 6PM PST in my residential area.

I've just recently put together a gaming PC and had a whole bunch of parts delivered over the past few weeks and all have come around 8PM. The main reason I decided to not go the Amazon route for the system. I'd rather just pick it up in store.

No way. She's probably crazy anyway. Been there done that. Gimme mah PS4 and my Killzone Shadowfall.

They are all crazy in the head. It's not like with consoles where you can pick and choose wich machine fits you the best. Just grab onto the one that looks to have the least amount of crazy and boom, kids, a Volvo (or Ford mondeo in my case) and a console of your choice in the future. Success!

Damaged palettes are going to get reported to Sony. Best Buy or whatever retailer is going to file a dilution claim against Sony and only pay for the palettes they are claiming are not damaged or nonreceived. I'm not saying this thief won't get away with it (if he's really telling the truth that he stole them) but it's not like they won't know about this.

won't sony want to inspect the damaged units?

:'( no love for sexy kaz?

In commercial transactions, this is called dilution and typically it happens so commonly and between trusted trading partners so it is not abnormal. For example, if I order 10 pairs of shoes from you, you ship them, and one gets destroyed in transit, this is a commercial dispute that will result in dilution of the value of the invoice. If I'm Sony, I sell to Best Buy all the time and tons of things probably break in transit, so it's not like this is abnormal.

BUT excessive dilution or dispute can trigger audit and will most certainly result in a change of contract terms.

So the point is if whole palettes of PS4s suddenly go missing and Sony has proof of delivery or title transfer (in some cases, freight forwarders take title to goods), it could be an issue. But I'm going to venture a guess that Sony has shipping insurance anyway.

Haha, i seriously have the Volvo (and the rest).

Not a chance. They can't be marked as "non-received" because it's confirmed in multiple locations... the distribution facility will mark the pallet as being on the truck, the truck will confirm delivery to the store, and the store will confirm receipt. No way one person at Target or BB has the power to affect all of this.

As for damaged units, they must be shipped back to Sony. The store will not simply be allowed to throw them away. I'm pretty sure all tech companies work this way. The company I work for certainly does. Returned damaged or DOA units not only get sent back to us, but they're flagged for personal inspection by a senior tech to determine the nature of the issue, they don't just get processed through the system.

This is just someone at a store, probably a part-time stock boy making minimum wage, trying to sound like he runs the place by babbling complete falsehoods to his friends online.

Anyone that would actually fall for that bullshit deserves to have their spot taken.

You'd be surprised how many junior enlisted get scared of even the lowest NCO. Just imagine how they act around Chiefs and officers. Not all junior enlisted are like this. The vast majority are solid.

You always got those kids who think metal on uniform, or a roof on stripes means they have to obey what's asked of them.

Somebody at some point is going to realize there are missing PS4s off that pallet. Either the store before they ship them off or Sony when they receive them. Now if maybe two are missing, it might not be a big thing. But I would guess these aren't the only two this guy gave away. Surely he kept a couple for himself right?

If this happens with electronics, I wouldn't be surprised. I can tell you that in some other industries, it doesn't make sense to ship the items back-- damaged or destroyed primary materials as an example, if it isn't a precious commodity or metal.

I also do know of a few cases where employees were able to mark something as missing, but it was typically from a company-owned distributor and not shipments from third parties (to be specific, this was a Blockbuster distribution facility and employees were marking DVDs as non-received from the shipment center).

I think the big difference here is that this is a major console release, on release day. No one's going to just let things disappear. The retailers know that people will try stealing them, and they'll probably be reviewing a whole lot of video for the next couple of months. After that, it won't really matter, because they won't be hard to find any more.

I once had a major try to pull that stunt on me in the Commissary, I just calmly took down his last name and squadron and reported him to my commander for misuse of rank which is a UCMJ offense and my Commander made a huge deal out of it which ended up impacting the major's OPR.

So when are we getting that UI video?

I'd guess it'll be Monday or Tuesday. The press will have full access to the console then, which means that Sony will probably would walk them through the UI. So they'd probably have a video prepared for us before the press give their impressions of it.

The 1.5 update is live right? I'm assuming that's the case because the ustream uploads from the PS4 were up last night.

Hopefully 300mb means 5 minute download.

I'd rather just have it ahead of time. Save me the potential trouble of dealing with overcrowded servers on day one, and the update will go a lot faster to boot. I assume someone here will be eyeballing the Sony website to see if it's available for direct download before launch.

I have one preordered on amazon going to my wife's place. Sadly I'm on orders until the end of the year. Base is too far from home so I only go back to see the wife every other weekend.

My best bet would be to go to the BX on Friday and get lucky. The selfish guy in me says to pull rank and ask an enlisted guy to let me have his spot.

Alas, integrity first. In line I shall wait.

I'm an "enlisted guy" (17 yrs) and I'd tell you to go F off! If I saw you do it to my junior enlistees I'd call you outin front of everyone to make feel like an ass.

Also, UCMJ says hi

I think his Instagram pictures were deleted. So possibly, he drew too much heat, and is no longer doing it. Just a guess though.

Lol, I'm not touchy at all. Your comments about the way the guy looks seem that you are rather frustrated he owns a ps4 and you don't. Anyway, the way he looks is not relevant.
You're acting like I'm talking about your homeboy or something. Sounded like you got personally offended that I noticed and made fun of this guy's strange hair cut. Either that or you're on the Neogaf Thread Watch program.

Steeve McQueen nerd voice: "Ahem! According to section Z-17-5400, there will be no brief mentioning of other topics besides the strict topic at hand, ever. Doing so will get you shit from some random gaffer on patrol that day."

Last I heard, mod's names were in red and if I did anything wrong, they'll let me know.

So what did I miss? I'm seeing posts about Possible broken palets, or is it a case of the guy who posted early pics of PS4 stole it?

A lot seemed to have transpired over the course of the night since I last logged on.

Can some one catch me up to speed?

Am I getting my PS4 on the 13th?

O.O

Where is this order from?

Aahhh, but it only says the shipping has been initiated, and the estimated delivery time is based on that. If Wal Mart holds it for a couple of days, it won't happen I'm guessing :(

This is actually my second PS4 order I made a few days ago from walmart.com

And this is the link from tracking the PS4 order on my e-mail so I don't know.
