Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

Any one playing this? It's surprisingly good and enjoyable. Can't see how people can play it on anything other than a Vita. Touch aiming makes everything so much more enjoyable.
 
Gosh IGN's new videos showing remote play looks so good. I cannot wait to try out the feature now. I'm gonna feel sorry for my TV when it gets no use anymore.

Nah, I just don't see a use for it in my situation. I already have a Vita and I prefer playing on a handheld anyways.

Beat campaign on vita straight away :) going back soon, lots of fun...too easy with the touchscreen - might be why it doesn't tell you about it (iirc).
 
I did it, GAF! I bought a Vita! Sorta wanted one since E3 and was set on getting one after Gamescom, but was waiting for Black Friday. But the Radio Shack $160 deal seemed as good as any. I'm tempted to keep it unopened until BF just in case but it's going to be way too hard to keep it sealed once I get my PS4 on Friday.....

For me personally, I see no point. Vita TV just does not interest me....

I just finished the 2nd DLC... if you like metroidvania type games, you should love it. It has some tight/challenging platforming sections and the combat is ridiculously deep for a 2D metroidvania game.

you're probably right as i found the touchscreen functionality totally by mistake. I play castle storm on hard and try to get all the stars before advancing.

Definitely. It's a Sony published game. The problem is if it's a stand alone or a DLC to the original game.

At this point, it'd make sense if it was DLC. They're giving SS away on PS+ after all.

It gets pretty hard later on for me, without tapping anyway! Sort of savoring it hah but it's nice that it has MP too. Only done it on normal and working through hard next before the challenge stuff.

Let us know if the game looks okay, and if the frame-rate sticks to a consistent 60fps.
 
I got to play the demo of Tearaway at my local Gamestop and I fell in love with the game! It's been on my Amazon wishlist for quite some time, so I'm hoping that I get it for Christmas or for my birthday. I'm also excited that Ys is finally coming out this month and I hope by the time it comes out, I'll have the time to play it (something that I really haven't had in the last month or so, hence why I haven't been playing much Dragon's Crown)

(1) how does one check the wall of shame?
(2) I was only top poster last month, to my knowledge. Previously I've been in top 5. I just love my Vita and my VitaGAF.
(3) I want a VitaTV but am waiting for impressions. Between (a) the fact that I was going to buy a Roku type device and (b) the fact you can stream PS4 to it, I'm pretty much sold... but alas, it depends on how using an account from a different region works on it and how soon they bundle a DS4 with one, as I don't want to buy the one bundled with a DS3.

I hope you're right. For me, it's DLC or no buy most likely. Hell, I watched the second video that Cyborg posted earlier and was like "yeah, this looks pretty much exactly like Soul Sacrifice." :lol

Buy it and support a quality developer. Yeah, it sucks to get LB'ed, but it happens to us all. If you live in EU, it should be free on PS+ soon. But with SCEA at the helm? Take it at the discounted price and enjoy the hell out of it.

Reviews and previews all said it's constant 60fps.
Game seems to be at least the same as MK9, maybe even better since the team has more experience porting to Vita now.

Maybe because the OLED model is discontinued and Sony hasn't done anything with bringing Vita 2000 or VitaTV to the west yet?
 
Only concern I have about Teraway is value. $40 is a lot depending on game length and replayability.

That said, its the first game my wife has been really interested in for years.
 
I'm curious about Tearaway's playtime too, luckily only £20 here but I hope it lasts a while! Looks so good...I wonder when we can find out? Hanmik has been playing it quite a bit.

Even when Yoshida already answered that they're still making it, and will continue to do so if there's demand?

Here, have this little piece of news (way back in Sept.) on the only country where Vita-2000 is available: NTT DoCoMo updated their 3G prepaid plans for PS Vita.

Heck, Akiba's Trip 2 gives you a weapon, an accessory, and two costume sets if you have an NTT DoCoMo (IIRC) subscription on your Vita.

Vita-1000 is not being discontinued yet.
 
I'm only okay with a shorter game length on Tearaway because of the sheer amount of other games I have to play haha, plus I'm sure it's long enough.
But honestly, my Thanksgiving haul is as follows:
- PS4 + Lego Marvel + Knack
- Tearaway
- Injustice (can't decide on Vita or PS4)
- Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Look, I didn't play FF13, Catherine, and Saints Row The 3rd because I wanted to play the games. I played them because Laura Bailey had a main role in all of them. And not only is Rise the best girl. She has the best VA. So... those are my opinions. I hope I stirred someone up ;)

Now, back to watching Soul Eater on Toonami. For obvious reasons.

I haven't tested Remote Play yet... it requires internet or can local connection between PS3/Vita do the job...?

(3) Eh, not interested still... but we'll see. I will not buy PS4 at launch though, I prefer to be cautious.
 
Finally platinumed Killzone, Hotline Miami and Strangers Wrath over the weekend! Hard mode on Strangers Wrath wasn't that bad tbh, but maybe that was because I saved before every major encounter. Even managed to bounty about half of the bosses alive! The cheapest part for me was the
timed segment with snipers near the end. I eventually just killed them before running up there with 30 seconds left, but it was the one segment that struck me as "unfair" due to the accuracy and power of the snipers

I was enjoying SotC last night. The missus finds that one boring, so it's cool to be able to relive such a classic in the palms of my hands while she's watching the evening telly.

Too bad this feature is pretty much dead for the PS3... I have no immediate plans to buy a PS4, but from the sounds of it the new remote play is shaping up quite well. Just hope they don't screw it up this time.

By the way, I'm getting a serious hankerin' fer Gravity Rush... can anyone tell me how big the download is?

Perhaps you'll get more use from the Gaikai service they were talking about, should replace PS3 to Vita remote play for the most part but may take quite a while.

Gravity Rush is 1460MB

Famousmortimor said in another topic that from what he'd heard is that they plan on keeping the OLED Vita around as the 3G model, and that the Vita2k would become the Wifi only model.
