Kotaku introduces the Amazon Playstation Network Store

Now I can imagine going all digital !

All I needed was some competition so I can be sure to have a lot of different and interesting offers.

This is pretty big. Amazon throwing its muscle behind Sony? That means google and apple will not want anything to do with Sony now.

Not that they ever wanted. Amazon is the best partner for this.

errr you buy a code to use on the PSN , don't think Amazon can say to Sony to remove it from your download list
NEW QUESTIONS:

1. If I have two PS4's (one in my hometown, one in the city I travel to for work), will I be able to play a game digitally puchased through this method on [/i]both[/i] machines?

2. If yes, will I be able to play that same game at the same time on both machines?

3. If yes, will I be able to play online (deathmatch, whatever) at the same time?

Thanks for the answers!

Yes to all three. If using two different accounts.

You can activate a game on 2 machines and anybody on those machines can play it, so yes, yes and yes.

Also, beaten.

By "accounts", do you mean just a system-level account (ie you boot up your PS4 and create a new account called Awesome Dude), or do you mean a PSN/SEN level account (ie the email address/billing information account)?

Sony from a consumer standpoint is being fucking ace right now! Unbelievable in a age where consumers are mostly shafted by the overwhelming greed of companies.

Awesome. Amazon sales have been amazing these past few years and have rivaled Steam sales. This is how you get people to go digital. If there are Amazon deals on a regular basis, this will be awesome.

Is this a big deal? I don't buy games on Amazon so I'm not sure.

It's US only, but I do buy a lot of stuff on PSN so is this something I need to start freaking out about until it's in Canada? I guess if it's cool I can easily use my in-law's address to order digital stuff...

A random price comparison. Sony PSN on left, Amazon PSN on right:

It's happening?!

I just can't believe this. This is one of the most pro-consumer moves any company has done. It's wondrous

QUESTION:
People have mentioned that you can buy stuff off Amazon using a fake American shipping address and a foreign card. I know this is true, since I've done it for an online games sale (pretty sure they were Steam keys).

BUT

Is there a possibility that if someone were to use this method for the Amazon PSN Store, and Amazon got wise to it, they could digitally remove/void your games? Does anyone know the answer/details to this yet?
Tony from Amazon Digital Games has explicitly condoned using a US address for overseas buyers of PC games. I expect that they'd be fine with it for PSN games, too, especially since Sony is also fine with making foreign PSN accounts.

So any confirmation on whether other retailers will be added to the fray? An article earlier seemed to suggest it would be the case.

Damn this is great from consumer perspective. My main bugbear with consoles are their closed stores and protected prices. Can't believe Sony is allowing another store that can offer different prices on their console - damn good move though.

Now if they's just let Steam OS on it shit would get extra double real.

I've got a Canadian CC with a "US" billing address that has worked all along for getting steam keys on amazon. Now I know people have redeemed PSN purchases on their US PSN accounts, but has anyone tried redeeming these games on a Canadian PSN account?

tldr : Are US PSN game keys redeemable on Canadian PSN? I have redeemed US PS+ vouchers on my Canadian account.

This is really a megaton.

They open the market in a CLOSED system. They just gave up the monopoly in a closed system... mind blowing stuff.

Well, if we don't get a confirmation, I might end up taking one for the team and buying sly cooper @ that $20 impulse price. I guess I could always sell it to a US gaffer if I can't redeem it.
I will assume that PS4 will be the same as PS3 with regards to US/CAN regions.

There aren't really any great deals at the moment, but this is awesome for the future.

Yeah, I was checking their store hoping to beef up the Vita I just bought but they don't have much right now. Maybe it's like a retailer version of PS+ where they get specific allocations but control the price on everything.

Can someone clarify this?

Also, does anyone know if there's a difference between the Canadian and American PSN Store? I'm basically trying to figure out if I can buy these things through Amazon's PSN store on a Canadian PS4, and subsequently play the same game (possibly at the same time) on two different PS4's.

That is the best thing about Amazon. They don't seem to give a shit and they are way too big for Sony or anybody else to crack down on. Or at least the trouble would be nowhere near the sales they get.

Just need to make sure to pick an address that doesn't get extra tax.

Basically this seems like a greal deal (the B2G1 especially, considering that's not available in Canada for PS4 games), but I don't want to go through with it only to lose out on my purchases down the road.

Wait wait wait, are you implying the B2G1 applies to digital games as well right now???

1. Yes.
2. Yes, but only one system will have full access (offline and online with any PSN/system account) while the second system requires you to connect to PSN on your account to launch the game.
3. Yes, but you need to use different accounts. You signed into PSN on your roaming console and someone else using their PSN account on your system.

It's basically the current 360 DRM scheme of 1 home/primary console with no account restrictions on who can play the content and 1 roaming license that requires you to connect online when using a console not designated as your primary.

Here's the official wording:

Can I access content I’ve purchased on another PS4?
Yes, you can use content you’ve purchased on up to two PS4 systems simultaneously — simply sign into a friends’ PS4, and the content you’ve purchased will be available as long as you remain signed in.

Can more than one person access my content from my PS4?
By setting your home PS4 your “Primary” console, the content you’ve purchased on your account is available to other family members without needing to sign in on your account.

Can two people use my account’s content on two different PS4 at once?
Yes, this is possible.

As for your other question, I remember there being issues when using a US PSN cash code on a Canadian account (and vice versa) but I'm not aware of how they handle the game codes. I want to say it's only the cash codes that are tied specifically to countries while games are tied to regions, but I'm not 100% sure if that's true.

MS kept saying they were just like Steam but it seems that Sony is actually actively doing things to make their system more like it. Great first step and MS is going to have to do something to counter this.

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck
This shit always happens

Just Google Maps a random USA address, add it to your Amazon Address Book and select this address at checkout, since you can see the codes from your account page there must be no problem.
I use this for to buy PC digital games from Amazon.com.

Because my us psn account uses some fake address in us, I tried using my Indonesian credit card, didn't work
U mean to say this Amazon psn thing is different?

So is that B2G1 deal available for PS4 games? I can't see PS4 option anywhere (not available yet)?

Not in America but have my Amazon account defaulted to a US address.

I can't use my spanish credit card with a US address in my US PSN account but i can use the same credit card with a fake US address on Amazon.com.
