There were rumors, based on retailers' listings, that the game would be released on May 2014. I for one think we'll be lucky if it's out before October 2014.
It really has absolutely no reason to happen, but I'd find it hilariously fitting if they revealed Snake's back then.

Lies. Nothing beats Captain Syrup. She's downright sinister in Shake It.
She sets up Wario going into the Shake world by placing the portal to it into Wario's home, then she sells Wario items during his journey in the Shake world, and once Wario beats the Shake King and acquires the bag of neverending gold, she takes it from him, as it was her plan all along, and the little fairy guys promised giving the bag to her as "consultation fee".

Reason why I thought it'd come out that soon is because Sakurai apparently wanted the game to come out this year.

I came across that IGN article sometime earlier this year. Completely flew under my radar.
Maple rides her broom into link and uh steals items. Yeah, she's a bad bad girl.
If it flew under your radar, it did so with good reason; despite what the title says, nowhere in the article (nor within the interview linked to there) does Sakurai say he intended the game to be released within 2013. Closest thing he says is that the game system is complete, but nothing about getting Smash out this year.
Yea, it was a long shot, but I still had my fingers crossed.

That article says IGN expected a 2013 release, not Sakurai.
The game started development in 2012, so a 2013 release was never realistic.
They're not updates, they're just something he does for fun and is sharing with the community.

Ya know, now that I look closer at the title, the wording is kinda funny. Can't believe I fell for that bullshit. The one time I read the interview (the first time I came across it), I must've been too psyched to realize otherwise..
Call them whatever you want, but these daily images do give us new info. Stages, items, new moves even. I don't see why we can't expect something significant like a new character to the series.

If Square Enix were going to have a rep I'd say Sora is probably the best choice. Not only does he also sorta represent Final Fantasy but he's incredibly iconic even if only 4 of his games have been on Nintendo platforms

Nintendo submits new patents all the time. That's a lot of IPs.

What is life without Waluigi in Smash?
For realsies, though:
- B: Diddy/Wario style grab and beat down
- Side B: Laughably nerfed motorcycle that ALWAYS explodes
- Down B: Summons a Mario Party style Dice Block to bludgeon opponents with.
- Up B: Blows himself up with a bomb (Not sure about this one, maybe he shouldn't even get one.)
- Ultimate: Full game of DDR or Mario Party. FULL GAME.
Edit: I basically want Waluigi to be a slightly altered Peach clone.
