BF4 - (CE-34878-0) ERROR

When the next Battlefield arrives, don't preorder, don't day one, don't put your faith in the gaming press. Wait for the NeoGAF seal of approval before giving these tricksters your money.

At a quick glance, the bottom three are the only reviews on Metacritic that properly take the game to task on its fucked up state. Kudos to those guys.

Every Battlefield game has launched with issues. I was there at launch for Battlefield 3, as far as I remember, and it was not this bad. Siege of Shanghai is fundamentally unplayable due to crashes. Golmud Railway and Lancang Dam are permanently sound bugged. I haven't played a match on Hainan Resort that wasn't crippled with rubberbanding. Not one.

4/10 maps being borderline if not literally unplayable is not a usual Battlefield launch. It's a busted, unfinished game.

im enjoying the new bf4 metagame where you try and make it through a match without at least 2 of the above problems.

I agree, BF4 has been a disaster on PC for me as well. DICE and EA really gave it to the consumer this time. BF3 had some annoying issues at launch, BF4 is on another level.

The thing that kills me is didn't they say that BF4 was in development the whole time BF3 was as well?

Closed Beta = Alpha
Open Beta = Demo
Release = Quality Assurance testing process

What a terrible path gaming is going down as it's not exclusive to just BF.

If all these other devs are having a hell of a time, can you imagine what Bethesda's first game will be like? lol.

Been playing BF4 PS4 strictly SP for about 90 min today.

Have not even attempted to mess with PSN for anything yet.

No problems so far.

My SP data became corrupted. After I deleted it the game started up fine. I have the digital version on PS4. I haven't tried SP since but I do get booted out of games all the time in MP and once so far had the MP crash where I sent a report.

I installed the game, played the first mission in campaign, and then backed out of the game in order to install the update.

I went back into the game, it crashed with that same OP error message. I got back into the game, went into multiplayer, couldn't connect to any games and all of the server browser servers were empty even if I filtered them, and it crashed on me again.

And here I thought the PS4 version wouldn't suffer from the same fate as the PC version...

Last night i had a complete session of play.. did experience sound loss but no crashing and for the first actual time, could make some kills and hide behind walls!!! LOL (PC VERSION HERE)

Lot's of people on PC expencience CTD are on Win 7..

The sound loss and crashing is annoying, but I don't regret buying at launch. The game, at least for me, is still quite playable and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I just want those two issues addressed as soon as possible.

By way of balance how much of this is likely to be down to sheer demand of people logging on to PSN with their new consoles in addition to the usual frailties that come with a Battlefield game release?

I feel utmost sympathy with you guys who want to get going with delicious next gen goodness but its probably worth putting the pitchforks down and walking away for a day or two until things settle. In this day and age new game infrastructure + new console infrastructure is bound to cause issues.

This worked for me. I read this in the playstation support forums.

1. Sign out of psn
2. Boot your game.
3. Hit ps button and sign back in to psn
4. Double hit playstation button to get back to game.

Hopefully this will work for you too. This is obviously not ideal but at least you are able to play

I'll have to try this later. Getting sick of the crashes during every MP game. Wouldn't mind it so much but you lose anything you gained in that round too. :(
