PS4 official European waiting thread - come here and wait with us!

Are you saying that the vita not remote play games linked to a sub account?

I'm not sure... but I think the Vita can only stream games from the main console of a SEN ID if you play as that ID in the Vita... and you can actually add 3 Vita's to that console to use as a second screen... but i don't really think that an account can play on others main console... a subaccount, i don't know... maybe... but you can have a US subaccount for an EUR main account?

Just tried a demo station at my local toy shop. play room is pretty good. my 6 yr old thought it was great fun flicking the little robots out of the controller and knocking them around the screen. it was fast and responded surprisingly well to the video of her (way more so than Eye Pet)

There was a small crowd gathered around after a while and the non-gamers seemed quite interested.

Depends, i'm kind of hoping that Shopto keep up their run and get it to me on the 28th....

Last year, ShopTo didn't ship Wii U's out until the Thursday, unfortunately.

Not to scare anyone, but that resulted in me not actually getting mine until the Saturday, instead of launch day. :/

Portugal represent!

The store I pre-ordered from will do a midnight launch. I was actually the first to pre-order there.

I also took the 29th off work, so it will be a PS4 marathon until monday morning, barring any unforseen circumstances... (please PS gods, make my PS4 work flawlessly,,,)

Thanks to the stupid FSK18-shippment, most of my games will ship separately anyway. The only one that might come bundled is Knack.

Yeah, that annoys the crap out of me as well. Every damn time...
Another thing you should keep in mind: Even if the biggest Packstation compartment is big enough, there is something entirely unforeseeable: Will there be enough of those big compartments? If those are all occupied (by old packages not yet picked up or too much new (ps4) shipments that get there earlier than yours) you're screwed. I've taken the day off and let amazon send it to my place just to be safe :D

So I type this reply on a bright but crisp November morning in Scotland, in my recently finished conservatory with my vita next to me waiting for the 29th when I can game whenever I please without pinching the big tv and risking the wrath of my three year old saying "daddy..... I want a yogurt and number jacks on the tv"

This is almost exactly what I'll be doing early December, in Scotland, with Vita remote play.

My wife and kids monopolise the TV's in my house and the range on the Wii U is nowhere near good enough for me to slink into the conservatory - plus they use it for Netflix.

PS4 and Vita combo cannot come soon enough - especially as it's gonna be a chilly Scottish winter this year. Watching the live streams it looks like remote play works really well.

Joao Carlos!

I took a half day on the 29th (had no choice, getting the PS4 delivered to work). I'll be doing the exact same as you :P

I believe that was always the plan. The real question is whether PSN will be able to handle all of Europe, which I doubt.

Yes. You just need to put in a US address and it's a US account. Once you download something on the US account and log back into to your EU account you still have access to the US account game. I'd be surprised if the vita wouldn't let you play the game downloaded from the US account considering the PS4 allows it

Still no release date for the Killzone bundle that I have preordered in Sweden. It's bullshit really, why isnt it beeing shipped at launch by the look of it? Pissing me off, it really looks like Europe wont get that many consoles shipped.

Sigh, I'm in a right conundrum over what i should do for launch. Shopto should have offered me a mega bundle if they were going by time, but they haven't offered me one. Which leaves me to either just pay extra for the stuff on launch or wait for Amazon. :/

It would make it easier if I knew when Amazon would be shipping the orders on the 14th of Nov.

Uk GAF : has anyone preordered their PS4 through Amazon? What's the deal with delivery dates? and is it too late to order to get it delivered for launch?

I was actually trying to quote your comment from the NA thread.

I'm new to Gaf, only been checking it out for 4 months and only recently had my membership approved.

Your post is exactly what gaming is to me, since my first go on Denaris on the C64 I've been a gamer. I've got my own business and during the economic crash of 2008 the likes of WoW gave me respite from the daily worry of whether I could provide for my family. I would have gone bonkers with worry if it wasn't for the few hours in Northrend trying to end the Lich King.

Not many of my friends are gamers and most are perplexed as to why I'm so excited about the launch day, they were the exact same on the launch dates of the n64 and the ps2.

The launch of a new machine represents future opportunities to immerse myself in another world free from the concerns of everyday life, and being a small business owner in particular, free from the concerns of how I make sure this time next year I'm still providing for me wee girl and also for the new wee one were expecting in June.

You also mentioned what gaffers will do with their new entertainments setups. Well I've not spent a rake of money on high end stereos or 4k tvs..... However my wife has wondered why earlier on this year I suddenly changed my opinion on putting a conservatory on the back of our house. Well what she doesn't know is that the day I decided to put a conservatory on the rear of our property was the day Sony announced ps vita remote play and also the day I went out and bought a vita.

Sorry for the late reply fellow GAFfer. Those are great news, it's great to know you have a nice place to immerse yourself and find some relaxing time after a long day of work. It's always good to share our stories about our hobby since I believe it also helps bringing the Community getting closer.

I'm always aware and trying my best to do so, but it can be hard when so much is happening and two consoles are releasing, yet if you look closely we can always find good members willing to help in a mature and polite form so we can stick together and have fun. Because that's what it really matters in the end, having some fun.

---

Hope all my good Euro-GAFfers are staying strong! I still don't know if I will be able to get mine on a midnight launch because I don't even know if there's going to be one. I also don't know if I'm going to be able to get the Bundle with just Killzone or I have to settle with just the PS4. Either way with our harsh Economy I'm already prepared to skip Knack, NFS Rivals, AC4 and probably others which is a shame but things in here don't give you a break... ugh. I'm glad to at least having some meaty vouchers that will reduce the PS4 price to almost nothing but still... a couple of extra game would be neat don't you all agree? ;)

If you order a standalone now it'll be delivered after Christmas, if you go for a bundle, it should be delivered after launch but before Christmas.

Customers who place a new order on the currently available PS4 bundles will get their console after release day but before Christmas while stocks last.

Customers who ordered the standalone PS4 console from November 14 will receive their consoles after Christmas.

Bummer! What are my options in that case? I found out I've got the 29th off work! (damn my indecision/procrastination!)

I need to buy a "no girls allowed" sign to protect my wee cave. Got a recliner in there, my jambox for tunes, vita, iPad and a heater. It's off the dining room so not far from the kitchen. If I change the locks I reckon I can live in here in peace :)

Ah, the things we do for a peace and quiet to happily snipe Helghans across an open space!

Walk ins at places like John Lewis might be your best bet.

I imagine places like Game are going to sell out fast and the supermarkets might not get many at all, from the US launch it looked like the supermarkets got tiny allocations compared to the Gamestops.

ASDA did have some killzone bundles still available for launch yesterday could give that a check. Shopto did as well, though you'll be paying a bit more for it there.

Midnight launch at game would be a no no? Do they allocate any for non preorders?

Just curious, why not brows the US ebay site and get a ps4 there? I mean its region free right? no need to wait 2 weeks then :)

Not quite true, mine was shipped on the Wed and received it on Thursday.

I know it's probably unlikely it will happen again but there's still hope :)

Well, on the Xbox One "dispatch" emails Shopto sent out, it stated they were giving them to the courier on Thursday. I'd assume PS4 will be the same.

I was tempted to make a thread for this but it's probably not worth it, any responses would be ace.

I've got a launch PS4 pre-order (UK) sorted with Amazon for the 29th and now we're nearing the shipping date, I'm not entirely sure I can afford it. What happens to my preorder if the payment doesn't go through? Will I still be able to pay for and receive my PS4 a few days late?

Cheers!

Amazon? nope, they will cancel your pre order

I hope Warframe is launch for UK/EU. It's not on the launch PS4 game list that Sony released :(

Yes it's there for launch.

No they won't hold it for you.

Oh, I'd better dig out my heater as the conservatory can be a right ice box - giant beer fridge in those cold winter months.

I'll be hitting some Helgan and melting my eyeballs to some Resogun. Tempted to take a couple of days off work as well but Xmas hols are coming up anyway so I'll have a lot of me time when the family are watching terrible tv.

I can definitely see Europe beating the 1million sold in the US, although the Xbox is out the week before so it may dilute sales a little. Regardless I'll be joining the EUGaf massive for some PS4 shenanigans.

Waiting for the 29th here in Finland. Getting KZ: SF and BF4. Really excited for both, but especially for BF4, as I have never played any BF (apart from XBL demos) before.

Hype fell a little bit when KZ review scores came out and they were somewhat mixed, but hype levels are rising again.

Should I get the camera? What do you guys think? I just thought that I could "impress" some non-gaming people with it lol and I have no games that support split-screen yet, so no point getting a second controller. How limited are the voice controls atm?

Apparently the launch allocation in Scandinavia is tiny. I'm going to be pissed if my June preorder doesn't get here in time.

Could I PM you (or could you PM me) in couple of days, when you check around some of the Mannheim stores? I'm thinking of traveling to Germany to try and get PS4 on launch day, and since I was planning to go to Hockenheim, Mannheim isn't far away, so it'd be great if someone from around there could tell me where to get PS4 if you haven't preordered it.

Edit:
That's good to know :D

The situation around here is REALLY bad. Apparently there won't be shelf space reserved for launch - everything is going to the preorders first.

My take is that most retailers will have no units available due to preorders. I didn't find a market that actually offers the console at launch without preordering. It's a joke.

Can't wait!

By the way I have a question. I bought FIFA 14 digitally on PS3. Do I have to pay full price for the upgrade to PS4 or is there some sort of deal they do?

I'm off on the 29th and the following weekend off and my wee girl is staying at her Granny's on the 29th.... I suggested maybe my wife might like to stay there for a night and I was politely reminded that the shed can be a cold place to sleep at the end of November!

Resogun and KZSF are right to the top of my to do list! Assuming tesco direct get their finger out!

I reckon if the supply is strong enough the 1m will be surpassed as well.
