VGXtreeeeme nominees are up (GOTY: Mario, TLOU, GTA5, Bioshock, Tomb Raider?)

(Completely forgot tomb raiders with 2013. )

Unless anything has changed, the nominees are voted by the gaming journalists council overlords. Games that aren't out yet have obviously been played by the voters. Only category that is user voted is Most Anticipated. Voting for others don't matter shit if I recall.

(Sorry to post this here again, but I didn't saw this thread when I searched for it earlier)

Like last year, I made a complete text list of the nominees with their hashtags:

vote and smear your opinions all over your social networkers.

Predictable stuff for most categories.

(would be fucking fantastic if Survivor by eminem wins best song).

The lack of any indie stuff that I can see is a bit disappointing (pretty sure my goty list is mostly indie and 3ds games atm). no next gen games in sight either lol.

I'd love to see Mario 3D World take it for GOTY because it'd be great exposure for a great game on a great system.

Regardless, I liked the nominees they selected for everything. Last of Us and GTA V will clean up.

No The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds?? How is that possible. The game is supposed to be one of the best Zelda games ever...

This feels wrong.

For one, SM3DW isn't even out yet, so I don't see how it can be nominated. There aren't even any reviews out yet (except for the leaked IGN one). I'm sure it will be amazing, but it seems weird to have it on the list.

For two, Smash Bros 4 isn't on the most anticipated list. Which confuses me to no end.

But then, these are the VGAs...I mean VGX...es.

I like GTA V and Bioshock, but The Last of Us was such a well put together game. It's confident, and it rarely stumbles.

I agree with this. Doesn't make much sense. It won't win regardless, but still.

Wow, you already own 3D world? I thought it was't out for a few days.

Well..

GTAV should win this (didn't play SM3DW yet)

Not a bad list. Played all of those except 3D World (obviously), and my vote would probably go towards BioShock as of right now.

I hate how there's games on some of the lists that haven't even come out yet. Voting for TLoU as GOTY though. Sorry GTA 5.

I'd say GTA V, then I really can't decide between TLoU and Tomb Raider. I recently played Tomb Raider through again and it really is a fantastic game by todays standards. I'm trying to play through TLoU again at the moment and am enjoying that albeit for different reasons.

I don't know why they didn't wait, I mean there are still a few games left. GT6 missing from the racing section is pretty stupid.
Also, why the hell is TLOU nominated for best soundtrack? It's as unmemorable as they come.

Is "The legend of Zelda a Link between Worlds" coming out to late to compete....

since Mario 3D world isn't even out as well

Edit: voting for TLOU

Shin Megami Tensei IV didn't get a nomination, but Ni no Kuni Wrath of the White Witch and Fire Emblem Awakening did.
I don't know what I expected.

The idea that Super Mario World 3D is on the list for GotY when only a handful of people in the world have played it fully doesn't sit with me. I think there should be a cutoff date and games after that point get considered for next year. With that said, it's going to be a battle between The Last of Us and GTAV.

holy shit didn't even see there was a independent games category. respectable selection there.

Have zero clue how that matchup is gonna turn out... weird that there isn't brothers. brad may cry.

seems a little early since Mario isn't out but chances are it deserves to be nominated so whatever. Tomb Raider is a damn joke and shouldn't be anywhere near a GOTY list.

I too have a problem with this by principle.

Game journalists (at least the ones that are the judges) have all played it they just cant say anything because of the embargo right?
