Freedom Wars is developed by Shift (God Eater), and Dimps

The hell? There was a lot of japanese/eastasian cultural references and visual winks.

err.. which one? Puppeteer or Mario? haven't finish Puppeteer yet, as for Mario, I'm just talking about the character design. it has a very international appeal look to it and not distinctly japanese imo.

I thought Dimps made the good Sonic games.

They do. The Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush games are some of the best in the series. Dimps didn't do an exceptional job with Sonic 4, but that's a small blemish on their otherwise great track record. They are also responsible for the DS version of Sonic Colors, the 3DS versions of Sonic Generations and Lost World, and the Daytime levels of Sonic Unleashed on the Wii, which were all good.

Contrary to popular belief, Japan Studio's internal output in the past 15 years have always been un-Japanese.

Ape Escape
Ico
Shadow of the Collosus
Siren
LocoRoco
Piyotama
Gravity Rush
Puppeteer
Knack

None of the games above were ever distinctly Japanese.

Puppeteer, as the whole game because I doubt Kutaro is the Puppeter of the title.

God Eater makers Shift and Street Fighter IV co-developers Dimps will be helping out Sony World Wide Studios in the development of Freedom Wars, and this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine also shares additional gameplay details on the upcoming PlayStation Vita game.

As you may already know, in Freedom Wars you will be fighting to mitigate the million year prison sentence that was given to the protagonist at birth by taking on giant enemies called “Abductors”. Famitsu reports that while on multiplayer, you’ll get to see how many years other players have remaining in their sentence.

The magazine also says that the game will put emphasis on short and long-ranged fights and have plenty of Thorn Whip and citizen rescuing action. In some of the rescuing missions, the citizens will be moving, and they compare it to an amusing game of Capture the Flag, where the flag moves around, and you’ll be required to find the best ways to catch up to them.

Freedom Wars is slated for release in 2014 for PlayStation Vita.

remain to see if the whole studio will look more western title overall or not. I mean, how does The Last Guardian look to you?

Non-existent.

Didn't Sony confirm this?...

A localization? No.

Does this mean God eater is finished?

No.

Does this mean God eater is finished?

Doubtful; I believe God Eater 2 was very successful? Maybe Namco will find another developer to pick it up, or maybe they'll return to God Eater once Freedom Wars is completed? It's probably going to be out within about 6 months, isn't it?

Puppeteer, as the whole game because I doubt Kutaro is the Puppeter of the title.

The Puppeteer of the title is probably the player, I guess? I would assume Kutaro is the puppet in question. Unless it's relating to the Moon Bear King, who controls everyone initially.

You have got to be kidding me if you think Siren was "un-Japanese". Since the original PS2 game was one of the better examples of Japanese style horror for its time. Not to mention a lot of the locations were modeled after actual real life places the devs went to.

Sorry, that was a mistake on my part that I forgot to edit out.

I kind of forgot how traditional Japanese horror Siren was.
