Eh, Mario is Nintendo's mascot. It's not that far-fetched (no pun intended) we might get a reveal of some sort.

I'm more inclined to think there will be a Zelda-related reveal considering a lot of the Mario characters have already been revealed and we just got the Galaxy stage. Maybe Zelda herself.

I'd love to see Wario or something though, maybe tie it into Mario Party.

That's true, but the more important point is that it's very probable that there's going to be more Pokémon characters other than Pikachu, so if they didn't reveal that unknown Pokémon during the only big release for Pokémon that we know of since SSB4 was announced, we can't be sure they'll reveal a Mario character just because of this game

I don't think Toon Link was too obvious even with the WWHD release. Most clone like character and one of the last unlockables in Brawl (seemed last minute too given how he had no role in SSE) made me weary on if he was coming back, but here we are now.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get Yoshi, Wario, Zelda, or Ganondorf tonight. Not expecting anything though.

They love the shit out of toon link. Apparently they originally were planning on using him AGAIN in ALBW. It was going to play like the damn DS games again and they brought it to Miyamoto, he basically told them it looked like shit so they woke up and did it right.

I kind of want ALttP Link now.

Did her profile originally link to the 3D World site? I just noticed that every post-E3 Smash Bros. character profile links to the site of a game from their series. (Ex: Olimar - Pikmin 3, Luigi - M&L: Dream Team, Toon Link - WW HD, Peach - SM3DW, Sonic - Sonic LW, Marth - FE:A)

Normally I would say that this could point to a Zelda reveal because there is no link to ALBW's site, but there isn't one for Pokemon X/Y either so it is a moot point.

Something could be tonight since the Jpn 3D World release is a day early. Tomorrow is the big day for other regions though with Mario in NA and ALBW in NA and EU.

There is never "supposed" to be one, but given what seems to be happening for Nintendo for the next two days, many of us are guessing we might get a character reveal either tonight or on Friday. Sakurai typically unveils new characters to correspond to the latest Nintendo releases, the big exception was Pokemon X/Y which ruined the streak so in that sense we could end up with nothing.

Mario 3D World is out in Japan today. Going to be out in the US a day after.
