Live countdown to major Persona team announcement from Atlus [Summary in OP]

I hope this doesn't need your P4G game save. On my second playthrough I chose Rise just to see what would happen, but my heart truly belongs to Chie.

Anyone have recorded the bits, where the Vita UI was clearly visible between the events? Like, when they launched the Vita Trophy app and showed Persona 4 Golden's trophies for a bit, and then got back in game to continue the event?
That was in the early hours of the stream. Even a gaffer "streamed the stream" on twitch, but he have not saved the broadcast.

Didn't yosp tweet about this whole countdown the other day on twitter?

He did, yeah. The last time Hashino was asked about the site in the media, it was for the PS JP site, as well.

So yeah, whatever it's on, one of the platforms is Sony's.

It might mean they could make someone like Chie look attractive!

LOL

You're mixed up. Pan streamed the stream, and whilst nothing was happening, she streamed her Vita.

I'm pretty sure that's what you mean.

I hope this is Persona 5. I will still be happy if it's a sequel to the old games, but I can't see how they would make a story given that both games have had an ending that I liked.

Oh, lol :D That will explain it. :)
Urgh, now I feel like a total idiot, but that's what happening when I'm just hyping up while quietly watching streams at work. ^^

Yep. Absolutely.

What

I imagine P5 Vita would do well but the safest platform is PS3. Besides the large userbase, have you seen the way the Tales of Xillia games have sold? A major hyped JRPG like P5 would do really well in Japan, and PS3 is more viable in the West than Vita.

If i'm not mistaken P4G sold nearly as much as the original PS2 release. Isn't that correct? That's why I say it's probably the safest simply because they know that the exact users that they want are there waiting for it. The fact that it sold so close to the original release is really impressive since you rarely see re-releases sell close to the original release. The PS3 is probably safe as well, but you could say that there's still a question mark about how it'd do due to there not being a traditional entry available on the platform.

With the price of the PS4 being reasonable, I can see them bringing it to PS4 instead of PS3.

I'd like PS4 instead of PS3 solely so I can Remote Play it on my Vita. If it's a cross-buy deal with Vita/PS3 that's also fine, as long as I can end up playing it on my Vita heh.

Nanako just scared the shit out of me. Put the stream in another window so I wouldn't close it by accident and out of nowhere I hear "Oniichan!". Crazy girl.

Didn't yosp tweet about this whole countdown the other day on twitter?

He commented on Dengeki Online's tweet about the stream and he also retweeted the original announcement from September that was posted by the official Persona account. In this weeks PSblogcast he lists his top 10 favorite games of the gen and put P4G at 7. He talked about how he doesn't really play many JRPG's now, but he ended up putting over 80 hours into that. At the end he said he had a lot of respect for it and that he can't wait to see what the team does next.

Wait, what happened? Have other people lost access to the stream and are getting prompted for a premium membership?

I think if viewership is too high, it kicks norms in favor of premium members. COuld that be what's happening?

Edit: Don't know if I just haven't noticed it before, but is that new text on the teaser site? Katakana reads "Countdown" with the kanji for "inside".

Latest event was some kind of fortune teller thing from the culture festival in P4G, if I'm not mistaken. Can't read Japanese. Did anyone else catch it?

That's right. Guess this means that if viewership gets too high on Saturday and Sunday, no one without a premium membership will be able to watch it.

This is a really neat method of promotion. All the mini countdowns and random clips, trailers, and music (and that Midnight Channel teaser) work so much better than a generic countdown for the fans.

That might be it. I'm a free user and have had it streaming in the background all day. It's almost at 250k now and still over 2 days to go.

Atlus! What does it mean???

But really I can't read Japanese, do I really need to go back to that spot in Persona 4 golden to understand? And I really hope that doesn't mean the announcement is a 4 sequel. Maybe if they throw persona 5 and persona 4 sequel together announced simultaneously things would go well? Maybe 4-2 would be on the vita?

I just hope it's not a handheld title. I played through Catherine a couple of months ago and I want more of that, but in the form of a Megaten RPG.
