I think it blew up just because of how... refreshing it was. It was just two average clueless people, originally streaming for a completely random reason, and then it was suddenly made viral by Wario, Playstation, etc. The "guest appearances" by Boyes, Patrick, etc. made it even more enjoyable.

Moreover, this guy is just really likeable. The dynamic between him and his wife earlier was great too.

Because people are using the playroom game to stream to Twitch and have a "show" that's not really a real game (let's be honest, abusing the AR bot is not much of a game).

The smartest thing they could do right now is immediately start working on Playroom upgrades via patches with more AR companions and gimmicks. Getting rid of it would be dumb.
 
someone tell that guy to get his ass to bed if has been streaming nonstop from the time op posted.. Theres still a friday night and a weekend for this lol. will tune later if have time.
 
There is going to be some serious competition in the coming weeks of people trying to gather audiences on ps4. Lots of broken dreams too. With a decent plan to alternate between playing games and maybe modding stuff on air ( did he mod his dual-shock on air?) this spartan guy has the personality to be more than just a flash in the pan.

Also we need playroom dlc stat.

Exactly. It's a nice break from the constant cynicism and console war stuff to see someone who is just an average person being put in such an amazing situation. I mean the guy did a random mod to his controller and by the end of the night he and his wife turned into internet celebrities.

I wasn't there, but from what I gathered he replaced his Dualshock 4 thumbsticks with the DS3 sticks. He said he had to file them down, etc. to fit.

Also, from an article on Kotaku in early September apparently Double Fine are making The Playroom DLC. Hopefully Sony can get them to do something to this, if they haven't had plans to already.
