Live countdown to major Persona team announcement from Atlus [Summary in OP]

So yeah, Persona 4-2 is pretty disappointing.

No kidding. I was hoping, "New world! New characters!"

Like, I thought it was a pattern. Persona 2 and Persona 3, different. Persona 3 and Persona 4, different again. Except they've been stuck on their past creations so long, maybe they don't want to go anywhere else.

Persona 4 is a financially successful series. From a money standpoint, why keep branching out when now you've got your fingers in spin off games, animated series, etc...? Entrenched fanbase and expectations.

I'm not saying a real sequel will never happen, but it feels like we've been just been orbiting the same thing for a pretty long time.

Wait I thought it wasn't going to be 4-2? Is there a news update I'm missing?

And to put on my tinfoil hat for a second...

72 Hour countdown

7 - 2 = 5

So it's probably Half Life Persona Versus Minus XIII

Not getting too many good feelings about this. Was hoping for something original...? Persona 5?

But I guess the Persona 4 world is now going to be all we're ever going to get from Persona from now on. Popular characters for sure, but...

Ah, well. I just hope for the super die hard fans that it's not something like a mobile remake or a concert. That'd suck.

I don't understand where you're getting this at all.

It isn't 4-2, as the Atlus PR account already confirmed.

The stream is also meant to hype up Persona 4 Arena 2 (I refuse to use the full title) and Persona 3 The Movie and so people are making wild jumps that that it's only about Persona 4.

If someone has a link where they're saying they're going to make a Persona 5 that isn't an offshoot of 4, please post it so I can check it out.

Okay thanks, that's what I thought. All this sudden talk of it only being P4 related was confusing me.

ironically the only thing making me think there MIGHT be a P5 announcement (in addition to P4-2) is how they're making it so damn obvious it's Persona 4 related. Not much of a teaser.

I don't mind a Persona 4-2. It doesn't mean Persona 5 is not coming. I just hope they do distinguish it as 4-2, so that they don't just try to make Persona 5 a direct story sequel to Persona 4.

After just finishing replay of Persona 4 Golden, I am glad to revisit the world and characters. I hope they can find more compelling ways to visit these characters personalities, though, since it's going to be pretty boring revisiting the same tired old character 'issues.'

If this isn't Persona 5 then Atlus officially became a bunch of cowards.

I'll definitely enjoy Persona 4-2, but if this is what they've been working on as the next true sequel to the series... Then I'll be disappointed as hell.

Here.

I mean the whole Persona 4-2 thing is hecka dumb anyway because Persona 4-2 already exists and came out last year (unless you're a peein', in which case I think it didn't get released until earlier this year?) under the title Persona 4 Arena.

The idea of Persona 4-2 is kind of silly too, seeing as they didn't even write them much to go off of for even Arena. Game is more P3 focused than P4 focused, and the sequel even more so.

The P4 cast are kind of done with. They didn't give themselves much any way to write a sequel without either crossing over with other installments (like Arena) or going into fanfiction territory.

If there would be a P4-2 (which I have strong doubts of), I imagine the most logical place it could take place after would be P4G's epilogue.

It's funny, because a P4-2 would feel SO much more forced story wise than P4A ever did.

Oh, so I'm guessing that was the event 16 I missed before. Guess there are reruns now.

Why is everyone saying P4-2 and not P5?

I dont know why people are assuming that they can't both be announced... I can totally see a Persona 4-2 on the Vita and Persona 5 on the PS3.

Remember the last time ATLUS announced games on Famitsu? They announced Persona 4 Ultimate Arena and Persona 4: The Golden together.

The only "evidence" of a P4-2 is a faulty resume, and I don't know why so many people are latching on to something so dubious.

And a P4-2 doesn't even make sense. The story is pretty well wrapped up.
