Live countdown to major Persona team announcement from Atlus [Summary in OP]

Not getting too many good feelings about this. Was hoping for something original...? Persona 5?

But I guess the Persona 4 world is now going to be all we're ever going to get from Persona from now on. Popular characters for sure, but...

Ah, well. I just hope for the super die hard fans that it's not something like a mobile remake or a concert. That'd suck.
Where's all this coming from? It's like the juniors in this thread are watching a different stream than everyone else.
If someone has a link where they're saying they're going to make an offshoot of 4 that isn't a Persona 5, please post it so I can check it out.
Brilliant.
It's Persona 2 + 3.
Hahaha, brilliant.

Where did that information come from?

Something is going to happen before the midnight broadcast, apparently? Thanks pan-hime for pointing this out.

At 11/24 20:00, the 3-day stream we've been keeping tabs on will show "News flash! Persona channel"

At 11/24 21:30, the stream in the quoted link will be having a talk show hosted by voice actress Isomura Tomomi and a guy named Mafia Kajita aka SP Tanaka (wikipedia says he writes for 4Gamer).

To be fair to people thinking it isn't something entirely new, the fact that the teaser site has Teddie all over it and all the 3/4 characters counting down before midnight does imply they have something to do with whatever announcement(s) are coming.

To all those saying 4-2 you're wrong. All those saying 5, you're wrong.

It's Persona 5-2. Which means it's Persona 3 velvet edition for Vita which will later be remade into persona 3 arena. Man it's so god damn obvious.

I hope its Persona 5. We've had Persona 4, Golden, Arena, and the anime, and I think Persona 3 was better for the most part.
I want something new with graphics on par or better than Catherine.

Hell, I don't even know how they tied P4G's true ending with P4A - assuming P4A is canon, that is.

P4G True Ending is
when Yu/MC leaves Inaba,

P4G Epilogue is
summer break after Yu/MC leaves Inaba.

P4A (and presumably P4U2) is
the next Golden Week after the true ending, before the epilogue

Teddie is basically the Persona mascot. And they're showing P3/P4 characters doing stuff because...who else would they use? They're not going to show P5 characters doing countdowns LOL.

They might be making a new version P3 to coincide with the movie or whatever, but I don't see how you get "they must be doing something P3/P4 related with the teaser!!!" just because they're using the characters.

Well what about P1 (lol) and P2 characters?

Well besides the fact that the modern Persona fanbase mainly associates with P3 and P4, P5 should be closer to those games than the older ones.

Agreed, I would be very surprised if more than 20% of the fanbase has played anything before 3. I know I haven't.

But, here's hoping for big changes in Persona 5. I remembered reading an article a while back that excited me, and was able to dig it back up.
"They already outlined the game’s theme and the staff plan to challenge more new things than Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 did."
A vague but exciting quote (from back in 2011).

Damn this thread got all kinds of crazy in the last 12 hours, its Persona 5 with out a doubt .. trust me guys .. trust me ;)

It's almost to the point where it seems like Persona 1&2 take place in a separate universe than 3&4.

Well, in a way they are...
The ending of Persona 2: Innocent Sin basically creates a new universe and deletes the previous one. Eternal Punishment, Persona 3 and Persona 4 all take place in this new universe.

I would love to see how characters from the original Persona game would look in Persona 5.

Didn't Persona 2 basically end with
the universe of Persona 1 and 2 basically imploding on itself?
. So by that, aren't the events of Persona 3 and 4 basically impossible to happen in the same universe since
Persona 2 basically was the end of the world that Persona 1 and 2 are in
, and thus making Persona 3 a reboot rather than a sequel?

So yeah, I don't ever see the old Persona games having any relevance in the modern Persona titles since the story of Persona 1 and 2 is D-O-N-E and over without getting serious retcons.

Like adults who are secure in who they are and what they are able to do. So, essentially they wouldn't be featured given that Persona is about being the opposite of that and overcoming it.

Plus they'd pretty much all be in their 30s to early 40s by now.
