Disney is one of Nintendo's first western partners since the 60s or 70s. They were subject of many Nintendo toys, and I believe Mickey is mentioned somewhere in Brawl's Chronicle.
So was Popeye.
Mickey and Popeye would be great guest stars. Along with TRON and Ken Griffey Jr.

There are a lot of weird things going on on the capcom side of the roster.
Why is the lost planet robot in the Tastunko vs capcom instead of Marvel vs capcom. Why did you give a 3rd slot to DarkStalkers, a series that is dead in more ways than one, yet one of your most popular new series, DeadRising only has frank west. Why did the nemisis need to be in the game, and not again, the lost planet robot. You already had the damn model. You want more advertising for the series? Put them in your crossover games.
As far as megaman was concerned, the rumor was that it a slight to itsuno.
Its another rumor going around that zero only being in the game is something itsuno wanted and someone was honoring his request. Because Itsuno liked Zero far more than he liked x. While this rumor could have some weight to it, they still could have just added OG megaman or a ZX megeman instead. Or mega man vollnutt a character who's model and move set could have been thrown in from tastunoko vs capcom.
But IIRC someone said, they could not think up a good moveset for him.

Also while on the topic of MvsC3, DC vs Marvel would be an absolute dream come true. Too bad WB and Disney probably wouldn't be up for it, though has that stopped the two comic divisions of DC and Marvel crossing over in the past few years?
I remember making a moveset in ye olde days which consisted of Mike using his Yo-Yo in more dynamic ways and becoming Smash's one true flail character. The basic idea is that his yo-yo would be responsible for all of his normal A moves and Smash Attacks (stuff like his running dash being "Walking The Dog", up smash being a fast Ike-like "Around The World", etc). Charging the smashes would have the Yo-Yo change shape (because he's a psychic/the yo-yo morphs canonically) from the base Island Star to the Shooting Star (a yo-yo with a mace like look) to the Supernova (the busted ass laser-projectile firing endgame yo-yo).
His B moves would revolve more around his acquired gear with the UpB being the anklet, SideB being swinging items (Bats, Sword, the extra life signpost for kicks), downB being the Mirrors and his standing B would be tossing Bolas, pebbles or the weak psychic shockwaves from StarTropics 2.

I mean, I'm all for Pac-Man, but he has never seemed really interesting as a character, much less in the playstyle department(well, at least to me).

Im in the same....it would have to be Lloyd though, unless if they want to pull of what they did in Melee with Marth and go with Cless from Phantasia.
But I would be ok with Pac-man depending how he is presented visualy.

As interesting and cool as that was......please no. If they could come up with a moveset for "R.O.B" and "Game and Watch" im SURE they can make Pac-Man a damn good move set. Going SxT Pac-man would just be damn lazy
Smash Bros. guests should be among the most important video game characters of all time. Sonic, Snake, and Mega Man are all instantly recognizable video game icons. "Lloyd Irving"... not so much.
I agree with this. I kinda want to see what Sakurai could possibly do with Pac-Man's "limited" moveset potential. Something super crazy hopefully.
When I think of Namco...I don't think of Lloyd Irving, so you're right. I think of Pac-Man, Galaga, Soulcalibur and Tekken.

I think they could definitely give him an interesting Smash moveset by himself. Final Smash could be turning everyone into blue ghosts and Pac Man trying to eat them!

I see your point, but I think that Pac-Man wouldn't be anything intresting in the gameplay department, as I said in my earlier post. With his new design, all I could see him being is a crappy Sonic clone unless he rides that wooden mech thingamabob. Lloyd however has large amounts of both moveset and playstyle potential, which I think trumps importance.

In two minutes, without doing ANY research whatsoever, I just came up with a bunch of stuff that Pac-Man could do while staying true to his games.
- Butt drops, kicks, and battering ram headbutts as his standard attacks. The animations would look appropriately goofy.
- Pac-Dot projectile.
- Eating, obviously.
- Limbless bouncy ball recovery.
- Ghost summon. Occasionally he’ll summon a fruit instead which can be eaten to recover health.
- Power Pellet Final Smash. The opponents turn blue and he KOs them by eating them. Any summoned ghosts on the screen would also turn blue, and Pac-Man recovers health by eating them.
I don't even play Tales and I already don't want either of them in Smash.
Tales characters are usually standard JRPG characters right? Like swordsman and magic users? I don't think we need a 3rd party rep to include those types.
Sakurai invented a dual blade weapon for Pit.
Sakurai invented a plasma whip for Zero Suit Samus.
Sakurai invented... everything for Captain Falcon. And Fox. And R.O.B.
"Move set potential" is a completely empty justification. It doesn't mean anything. Every character has the potential for a unique and interesting move set. I just don't see someone as obscure as Lloyd Irving jumping out to Sakurai as a must have third party character. He's pretty bottom of the barrel, honestly.
