Indeed they do. Said in an August 31, 2011 issue of Famitsu, Hashino stated that the Persona Team had completed work on an internal engine that would streamline development for Persona 5, no longer using the engine they used for Catherine.

The interesting part for me is that, considering the date of release is so far off, it might even be cheaper to develop a ps4 game. I guess they'll use the cathrine engine though.. so maybe not.

Again, they are not using gamebyro anymore, that engine was a one off with Catherine.
On another note, why does it seem that we have so many atlus insiders, or people prithee to inside information on this forum. Someone should gather all the different posts and see if we can sketch out a general idea of what had been going on behind the scenes.

Yeah, this always pulls me out of the game. The rest of the game I can get lost in, and follow our cast down the rabbit hole, but any tinkering with the real world and I just cringe. Keep all the fantastic elements in wonderland.

HIGHLY doubt that. I believe they mean December 2014.

Thats what I thought initially, but when broken into 3 months Jan, Feb, March is winter. Probably best to assume December

Still when they say "Winter 2014" they don't mean "oh pick whatever is it that you dream about" they mean "use your fucking sense we're not stealth releasing a game of this magnitude with few months warning".
