MJ wasn't slow and faced far better competition than Lebron has and set records doing it. Give Montana and MJ the training of today with PEDs, plus the same rules and they'll be monsters.

Also, MJ really didn't retire that long ago. He was putting up 40 point games when he was over 40 years old the year before Lebron came into the NBA.

Yeah I'm a Pats fan and happy about that game's outcome, but I wouldn't use this game as evidence against Manning being great.

Yeah his passer rating and performance are lower, but I think part of that was the odd start of the game where the Pats offense handed 3 scoring turnovers to Denver so Peyton was probably playing conservative. Tom was playing from a ditch, which can be risky but he delivered big time today.
 
Fuck the Patriots and their smug fans, Stafford is the future, but Brady is the best QB of all time IMO.

His 50 TD, 16-0, 2007 season revolutionized the game of football as we know it. Since then the shotgun/pistol passing formation has been the blueprint for most successful teams.
 
I've been told that since his neck injury, cold weather really messes with his throwing, like the nerves fail him or something. All his passes were pretty lame looking as far as velocity and control.

I don't think he will last much longer in this league which really sucks because he's good for the game.

I'm not sure about that. Peyton has always had issues with playing in cold weather games. If his neck makes thing worse, I don't think it will get to the point where it pushes him out of the game.

I'm not just talking about the neck problems that could shorten his career. He's had a lot of ankle problems this year as well. He'll probably stick around for maybe another year, possibly 2, but he's not going to end up as a Steve DeBerg or Brett Favre, still playing into his 40's.

Welker was a no name until he came to the Patriots. Even now when he is on the Broncos he is not putting up Patriots like numbers. I guess you could argue Moss but Manning had Wayne.

For me a QB "earns his check in the regular season but makes his legacy in the post season." Brady has Manning beat in the post season. But I guess Manning beats Brady in the regular season (barely) which is why his contract ginormous compared to Brady's.

Edit: Brady has Peyton beat in head-head mathcups

It's tough to compare the supporting casts because each team was built differently. The early-2000s Patriots had a strong emphasis on defense and didn't surround Brady with as many weapons. Prior to 2007, Deion Branch and Troy Brown were probably the best two targets he had. Since 2007, The Pats have been rebuilding the defense and put a greater emphasis on offense. Brady's had guys like Welker, Moss, Gronk, and Hernandez to throw to and he's put up ridiculous numbers. I'd also add that Brady's work in 2006 when he had Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney as his top two was tremendous. I don't know how that team made it as far as it did.

Through Peyton's entire career his teams have been built around him and his skill set. He's always had the large supporting cast on the offensive side of the ball, but has never really had that top-notch defense that Brady had in the early years. He also never had a coach on the same level as Belichick. I definitely think Brady is the better playoff/clutch performer, but I think Manning has had more pressure on him since day one. He was drafted #1 overall and has always had the expectations of big numbers and playoff success.

If I had to pick one, I'd go with Brady. Peyton will always have the better stats, but I think Brady is the better clutch performer and Peyton has a tendency to make back-breaking mistakes at the worst moments. No matter who you go with, though, it's a great situation to be in. They are far and away the top-2 QBs of their generation.

They put a stat up during tonight's game. They both played with 50 pro bowlers. The majority of Manning's were on offense while the majority of Brady's were on defense.

Yeah if MJ was in his prime today with today's rules, today's training, today's nutrition, today's drugs and today's players, it would be unfair.
 
People will find any excuse to deny a comparison. Let's get one thing straight, unless we do some weird cloning shit so each QB has the same team around him and play it at a neutral stadium we will never get a "fair" comparison.

But going by accomplishments, wins etc. Brady is the clear winner. Manning, with ALL his offensive weapons and a 24 point lead couldn't beat Brady. Peyton didn't pass as much, that is true, but although these things do rely on coach input, Manning could have easily either persuaded his coach to let him pass more or called audibles on the field.

This match up is legendary and when both retire its going to be the inevitable, "BUT THE NFL WAS DIFFERENT BACK THEN YOU CANT COMPARE MONTANA TO BRADY/MANNING"

The same can be said about the Broncos, They wouldnt had a lead of 17 points at the start of the 1st quarter without the Patriots 3 fumbles.
 
I think this game proves without a doubt why Tom Brady is the better QB

Manning is a great QB, but the Broncos are stacked on offense. In fact, in general, Manning has always had a stacked offense surrounding him.

Brady just wins, and even the past few years, where the talent has obviously not been there for the Pats, Brady has done magnificent things

I would personally say Brady is the best QB of all time, Montana, while clutch as hell, still had Jerry Rice, Roger Caig and a whole slew of other weapons. Brady was given 1 year with Randy Moss, probably the only other receiver that can be compared to Rice (talent wise that is) and he ended up breaking records.

Brady has gotten his team somehow to 8-3. I think it's ludicrous just how good Brady is

The best 2 QBs out there right now are Rodgers and Brady, with Brees and Manning coming up barely short. I think among those 4 QB's all of them will be considered top 10 QBs by the time they are done (Rodgers needs to continue on his pace, and Brees will most likely need another Super Bowl)

Brady and Manning are going to most likely retire soon, and there will be a huge gap in the NFL when that happens. Im lucky to view two of the best to ever play in my lifetime
 
Manning got exposed last night. Brady gave him a 24 point lead and still beat him with Gronk and a team of second-stringers.
