Consoles that get shipped by courier is almost always done the day before. Even with the Vita which I pre-ordered, they did that.

They usually ship things early if it's by RM standard 1st class
 
Nearly there.

Still feels miles away though. That said I expect this week to be easier than last week. Last week felt like it might as well have been February again..

I'm treating Thursday as release day as that's when I'll be queuing for the launch. Never done a console midnight launch before. Think I'll be finishing work at 5pm, go home, have some food, put some warm clothes on and prepare a hot flask, then head back out for about 9ish. Sound like a plan or will I need to be earlier?

For us, frenchies, 800 (Yes eight hundred, you read well...) additionnal SKU will be available at SonyStore located in PARIS, at GeorgeV Avenue. Policies are first come, first served. Andrew House will be there to give the first sold SKU to the first customer, hand to hand, maybe it will be me, who knows...

Logically it makes sense. RM is down somewhat to chance so they send them early to make sure nobody cries. Couriers are much more optimised so they can leave it till late.

I remember this story from last week and expected word on what will happen in London by now. I suppose that Paris event will be Europe's main event. A throwback to that crazy video I saw on Youtube for PS2's launch there loool.
 
Just had Assassin's Creed IV arrive, now I've got a PS4 game in my hands the wait for Friday is going to be awful!

Hope Amazon send out by DPD too, then at least we have a delivery window and can track the order too.

I cannot wait!
 
I really hate myself for pre-ordering the Killzone Bundle at amazon.de. If I had known from the beginning that I will not receive it on launch day, I would have gone with the console only.

Now I read that one Gaffer will probably receive his preordered Bundle, which he ordered before the 30th September like me, after the 25th December and get even angrier.

I thought Sony wanted to sell Bundles, so why the fuck don't they have them in stock at launch?!
Isn't Germany one of the bigger markets when it comes to console gaming?

It's probably because everyone in the UK bought a German bundle when it went live instead of waiting for UK bundles. It could also just be that Amazon.de oversold their allocation and didn't tell anyone. That sucks though.

Got the rumour that here the biggest videogame retailer in Belgium, Game Mania, is not getting any day one PS4's. First shipment would be pushed to january.

I hope my source is wrong - will update when I have more news.
 
This #4theplayers campaign is annoying me. They've been giving PS4s away to sports people, and singers I've not even heard of. Sure they're 'players' to, but man...

I feel your pain, I got conflicting messages from fnac.com about that bundle. They told me on the phone that I would get it on the 29th but I got an email to tell me that that bundle release date was January 2014, period. So I don't know what will happen in 4 days. Maybe nothing :(

I justified getting it at launch to myself because the price will not go down until 2015.
 
For Dutch gaffers: a friend of mine just got a call from Mediamarkt that he can pick his PS4 up TODAY.

We will have to wait till after work if they really sell it but I'll let you know.
 
I've just been looking into any disadvantages that result from buying from the US store digitally. A minor inconvenience is that if you intend to remote play over the internet, you'll only be able to connect to the primary account on the PS4 i.e. your US account. It will no doubt only effect the minority but worth bearing in mind.
 
Hey guys need a little clarification on the dual accounts system. So if I have a EU account as secondary I can bypass the ridiculous prices by using the US store on my main account.

Now here is the part no one seems to be talking about.

Will this effect the library area of the PS4 dynamic menu? Will the games show up in my EU account or will I have to sign into my US account to show my library.

My intention is not to upgrade the HDD but simply delete and install games as I go along using the Library as just that....my library of games.

Pretty bad form if they announce that so late....They should at least get some recompanse.

Anyway, I am getting mine this week, but won't be able to play it until Xmas. I totally don't mind about that though. Gives me a nice present to myself on Xmas.

Worst comes to worst I'll just make my Vita tied to the US account as well. I've only bought 2 digital games from the UK store so it's not a big deal for me.

However I thought it was possible to have multiple accounts share the same primary console.

EDIT: From the FAQ:

"You can activate one PS4™ system per account as your "primary" PS4™ system." Wouldn't it say one account per PS4 system if it was limited?
 
Simply games have updated my preorder. Same stuff as website. Shipped means sent to distribution centre for holding for Friday delivery. Will get dpd number after 4pm Thursday. Grr the wait is agonising lol.
 
Just went to the Sony Store, Potsdamer Platz, Berlin. They will have a launch event on the 28th where they will pre-sell it at 06:30 pm.

I could go there after work and probably get a PS4, as he mentioned that they will have a lot to sell, but only one per costumer.

I don't know what to do :( Wait for the bundle and probably regret it or try to get one on Thursday and pay way more for all the items of the bundle?

Edit: Amazon just replied to my fears that it will be after Christmas. They told me that I will get it before Christmas, but that's the bullshit they are telling everyone, so I still don't know.
 
When amazon will not send us our ps4s by friday because some guys have to be dicks in the most important week for a gamer, hell breaks loose.

Anyway, i will pick up my bf4 copy at thursday afternoon from gamestop.do you guys think they will give me my killzone copy aswell? I mean, the "official" release is friday,but hell i cant do anything with this copy. Just dont wanna have to get friday out of the house so i dont miss the parcel guy.
 
Man, I hope that Amazon.de doesn't fuck up the delivery again, like they did with my XBO last Friday. In addition, all the FSK18 games will be delivered by Herpes. That will be fun.

I'm 99% sure you can only have one primary account per console. You can tie a Vita memory card to the US account though so just switch it out when you are away from home and want to remote play. Of course, that means you won't be able to access the game saves on your UK account or earn trophies on it.

Edit: apparently you can make a single console the primary one for multiple accounts according to a Sony FAQ.
 
I popped into a GAME store before for the sole purpose of holding the DS4. My word it's perfect. The buttons, the triggers, the sticks, the quality of the build. It feels solid and just....
Essential.

I also played Knack which I really enjoyed. It doesn't deserve the hateful reviews.

Yeah, I did the same. Loved the DS4 though I'm not sure about the sticks (not enough time to pass judgment though).

The tiny bit I played of Knack impressed me. Played well and looked fantastic. I won't pick it up at launch but if it goes cheaper (and it will...).

Also, was it just me or were the face buttons bigger and flatter than the DS3?

Seems like we are still not completely certain of the effects of buying from the US store from the EU. If it affects trophies, multiplayer and especially remote play on my EU account then that would suck for me :/
