Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

Just got a vita last week. Give me a real quick list of games that are must own? I am LOVING this system. My wife and I got such a kick out of Frobisher says.

Persona 4 Golden , Tearaway, Killzone: Mercenaries, and all the PS+ goodies such as Gravity Rush, Uncharted : Golden Abyss, Hotline Miami, Soul Sacrifice and lastly the up and coming Ys: Celceta.

Thank you! I own tearaway! And I got all of the PS+ goodies already, i was more curious about games that are worth spending 20-40 dollars on. Killzone is good? And I don't know ANYTHING about Persona, is it okay to just jump in to P4G?

Killzone is great in MP, single player doesn't have bots but decent campaign and alright secondary objectives. Really impressive game though. I don't know much about Persona either...

I don't understand what the problem with Persona 4 Dancing is. The Project Diva dev who is familiar with the Vita makes a new rhyhm game, and the Etrian Odyssey dev who is familiar with the 3DS makes a new dungeon crawling game. Makes sense to me...

It's a graphical powerhouse and is fun to play.

If there is any indication of a Vita user it's that he has at least played P4G.

Exactly!

It would have been nice if we got both though... :P

Fixed.

I think you are kinda overreacting, even when you are right to a certain degree. Persona Q is made by the Etrian Odyssey team, who have only experience on the (3)DS, so it may be one of the reasons. And they may want to build some fanbase in the 3DS in case everything goes wrong with the PlayStation brand in Japan.

But that doesn't mean we won't get Persona 5. Cruises have lifeboats and I don't see anybody panicking because of it. I think this is the same case.

IMO The only reason the 3DS might not see a port of Persona 5 in the future is if down-porting it from the PS3 would prove too difficult for the scope of the game. Then again, P3P did happen so..

Ys Celestia is releasing soon, assuming you're from the US. Otherwise, the Vita is region free, you could import it from the US and play it on your Vita.

If you like Adventure games, def. consider getting Stick it to the man, which is releasing soon in December, it's like a twisted Saturday morning cartoon.

Stranger's Wrath is a good action game if you're interested and looks wonderful on the Vita.

Oh and make sure you get PS Plus! If you're from Europe, the November freebies will be replaced tomorrow, so get a Plus sub, get on the store and get every free game you see there, Vita or otherwise, and then come back on Thursday for some more Vita goodness.
Assuming you're EU of course.

I'm in the US! when typically does the US store rotate out its PS+ stuff? Is it usually the first day of the next month?

Every Tuesday the store updates (around 3pm usually). The first two weeks of a month are PS3 PS+ games, and the last two weeks are Vita PS+ games. Today, Soul Sacrifice will be free when the store is updates, and next week is I believe Oddworld Strangers Wrath.

Stranger's Wrath is out now, went up last Tuesday

i think people just vastly prefer awesome dungeon crawling over.... something called "project diva"

Oh yeah, I forgot where in the month we were, lol.

Cool most of the titles mentioned are available on US PSN. Furthermore US PSN cycles Plus games weekly, so go on US Webstore-
Store.Sonyentertainmentnetwork.com
and go grab all the Plus freebie games if you're a Plus member.

One more thing, PSX games look heavenly on DAT OLED screen.

I understand that people are disappointed with a Project a Diva game, but some are using it as a sign of Atlus dropping Vita support, which doesn't make sense to me at all. I'd be very surprised if Persona 5 is never ported to the Vita.

I think this is what some of us are worried about.

Disgaea 4 Return is set for 30/01/14 in Japan.

I don't think D2 has even been announced for a Vita port yet.

Well if NI are gonna port every PS3 Disgaea game, and if all Atelier games are gonna end up on the Vita as well, I don't see how Persona 5 Platinum wouldn't exist in due time.

For whatever reason, PSNProfiles lists R&C Into the Nexus as there being a Vita ver. for it. Wasn't that already debunked?

Question: is there a way I can get the PS+ EU games? I hear people talk about changing their account regions, but I am ignorant of the entire procedure.

yeah, that one dude is calling this is the end of the vita... that's crazy talk

i am sure we will see Persona 5 Portable for the Vita in a few years, i just really like the EO series and Demon Gaze is looking like the only game to fill that niche for Vita. would have loved to see more.

There's one word that will make fans buy this though....

'canon'

DJ drama making tracks for it??

Is Don't Starve good? It's all the rave on our club.

It's amazing if you like survival roguelikes. Addicting as all hell. I would pay lots of money for a Vita version.

:D

Update: Don't Starve developer Klei informs it's focusing on the PS4 version and remote play functionality at this time. A PS Vita native version is still being explored.

:(

Guys, for the complete blasphemy that suppadoopa displayed earlier, it has been determined that we'll be destroying his Lightning Shrine and throwing him in the TV.

You have to have a separate EU account and PS+ subscription.

No cheating the system here.

And a separate memory card -- or the willingness to format your current one.

I see I missed the daily "how does PS+ work" or "when is <PS+ game> free". :lol
Most of you are a lot nicer than I am. :D

It's apparently a pain in the ass, as (aside from paying for both subscriptions) you need to have separate memory cards for each, and swapping between them means resetting the Vita's settings (so among others, you lose icon placement, etc.). I've been considering getting a US account (no PS+) for when games I want are on sale there, but I don't think it's worth the hassle at all.

Dear Vitabros,

Is anyone having issues with trophy icons? If I browse my trophy list on the Vita tab, I only see icons for the most recently played game. If I look at other games in the list, all I see are generic bronze, silver, gold, platinum trophies.

However, if I switch over to the PSN tab and look at the same ones, it has the correct trophy icons from the games.

It used to not do this. Has anyone else noticed this?

Well then ... I must apologize in advance
on behalf of Japanese game market
that it may not be the case, for Japanese market at least (that Atlus obviously researched to make decisions regarding platform choice).
I mean until yesterday I was joking that P4D would actually sell better than PQ, but now I'm starting to think that is quite possible.

good lord Ive almost filled up my 64 gig card with all the psp / ps1 titles among other vita DL ones. D:

Time to get another card soon...

PSV is great though for getting all these titles from PSN and not having to worry about a disc drive or anything fry on you like with the PSP.
