Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

I just went to the online store and added to cart/checkout/confirm purchase.

So I should be good then when I get it tomorrow?

Yeah. They will be in your download list. There are other games that have come and gone from the instant collection but most of them could be purchased for cheap at retail or will have an online sale eventually.

edit: OMG-Z (zombie chain reaction game) for my top of the page recommendation. Because it's fun and I haven't seen a single person mention that they played it.

Ok, since I for the life of me can't decide even if someone were to aim a bazooka up my ass and threaten to blow it up to kingdom come if I can't decide in the next 2 seconds, I am returning to you guys for an answer:

Considering that I have *never* played these two games before: which one I should buy: Journey for the PS3 or Flower for PSVita? No "get both" answer please, help me pick one.

I have never played Flower but I'd say get that over Journey. I LOVED Journey but at the moment they haven't announced any PS4/Vita versions of it.

ORRRR you could wait for some sales. I'm not sure what Store you're using on your Vita/PS3 but they tend to have good sales around Christmas.

Yes! It seems GameStop, FNAC and Media Market are doing BlackFriday sales in Spain. Let's see what they do.

Still, I'm afraid tomorrow will be a really busy day. PS4 launched November 29th in EU...

Do tell if you find anything interesting, I have all of them within subway reach (Madrid) but I'm a bit busy this week. :)

Muramasa is $20 on Amazon right now

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B7ELWAU/?tag=neogaf0e-20

This is the first time the physical version has gone this low I believe

Edit: Filtered Vita games by price to see what else was on sale. What am I even looking at

Hah hah. Yeah, I noticed those same cans of soup when I did a search this morning and wondered what that was all about. Then got Muramasa for $20 as a Christmas gift from me... to me. :)

So really no good retail Vita deals today and tomorrow? Just DD? I don't have a problem with DD, but I'd rather have physical so I can trade games in later on.
Gamestop and I've found good deals on Amazon - especially Muramasa as some have already said.

I hope Gamestop won't be out of 8GB memory cards tomorrow - I plan on getting at least two of them (they will be on sale for $10 each). I know changing cards is a pain and I'd prefer a fancy new 64GB or a 32GB but $10 per 8GB isn't bad. Plus, need a separate one so I can get a Japanese account to get in on JPN only demos (and maybe games eventually).

That Amazon deal for Muramasa is tempting but not sure if I want to go physical for it...
Why am I still considering buying games my backlog is ridiculous and I'm broke as from getting Tearaway and Ys this month
I've been getting too many games for my Vita and 3DS lately (even when on sale) to even think about getting anything else and my backlog is enormous.
and thanks to stuff like Ys: Seven and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment going on sale
I have no clue where some of you get your money to buy so many games and I'm jealous but I also don't see how you get the time to play through them either. Married without children I guess...

Oh, and for those of you looking for a reason to buy Muramasa:
1) Its by Vanillaware.
2) Takes place in a fantasy like medieval Japan with Japanese folklore and mythological creatures.
3) Gameplay looks like this.

I think I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a $250 khaki Vita 2000. I know the screen took a hit, but from what I've heard the design of the body improved a lot. Anyone think otherwise?

Where are you buying from? Nippon Yasan has the khaki for $205

Just be prepared to wait up to a week for your order to process if you buy from them

And I still stand by my stance that ergonomics-wise the 2000 is far better than the 1000
Also did some testing and was able to play GE2 (fairly graphic intensive) for 6 hours on a full charge at 3/4 max brightness before the power warning came up, haven't tried playing psp/ps1 games yet but edge claimed 12 hours in their review

Media Markt is shit (I've seen what they offer in their web page), FNAC.es was between 5 and 10 euros more expensive than Amazon / Shop4es (place where I buy games online) so the 20% discounts just put the games at the same prices as those two places. The only interesting thing in FNAC is that they are selling 50€ PSN cards for 42 euros.

It doesn't look as if GAME has any offers for BF, so GameStop is my last hope. In the worst case I may bite on of those cards. But everything is kinda disapointing after the good offers they did last year...

Okay guys, who of you is that?
Sk1X7zw.png

Everybodys talking about FIFA, COD and BF and this badass steps in and drops Dragons Crown, Disgaea 3 and Diva f.

Hey Vitabros, my friends list is pretty barren and I'm lookin to fill it up :)

PSN ID is RedOrmTheViking. I'm planning on picking up Killzone Mercenary next week, how active is the multiplayer?

My obsession still continues~

On my way to a diamond trophy in the weekly challenge in Rayman Legends. Will probably have to get a big higher before the week is done, but I know I can probably get at least 300-400m higher, so I'm not superworried about losing the diamond trophy altogether, although I might drop to gold a couple of times if others are persistent.

I've still got 831 points to go for awesomeness level 11 (srzly, Ancel & gaiz, lvl 10 would've been perfectly fine as a trophy requirement), but if I get all the trophies I'm currently in the line for, I'm "only" 751 points away from Awesomeness lvl 11, so that's about 31 days of golds, a few less if I get the occasional Diamond from the infinite towers (the only ones I'm capable of getting a diamond trophy from... >_>;).

Was a tad bit disappointed in the Invasion levels. They were fun and more challenging than regular levels, but I perhaps expected a bit more out of them. Didn't expect I'd fly through them in an hour or maybe a little more, though at this point I'm probably quite the Rayman expert since I've been playing the challenges for almost 3 months straight, so maybe I would've had more fun with them had I not had to wait for Ubisoft to release the levels... The shadow Rayman levels were the most hard ones since you really had to perfect your run and do everything exactly right if you wanted to get that gold trophy.

Weird thing, btw, in one of the Invasion levels, someone had a time of -1 second. o_O Also, suddenly a couple of people have appeared in the "distance run" leaderboards who've ran something like 4,2 million kilometers in the game. That's just impossible. There are two with the exact same number of kms run, so there must be some glitch that has helped them with it?

I fucked up guys. I was having a blast with Tearaway cutting paper things out and I thought it'd be a good idea to use something to try and be more precise. I ended up kind of scratching my screen.

Any tips for trying to buff it out or something? Or should I just move on with my life? It's not really that noticeable, it just bothers me knowing it's there haha

Alright guys, I have been away from the Vita games side for alittle while now so im abit behind. Im considering picking up a couple of games, but it seems a bunch of potentially good stuff has dropped since the last game I picked up.

These are the games im currently considering

Tareaway+Dragons Crown
Dragons Crown+Ys
Tareaway+Injustice
Tareaway+Killzone

Or I could go straight indie and pick up Lone Survivor, Proteus,Spelunky,CastleStorm.

Any suggestions would be helpful. I am interested in ys but I know little about the series. Is it an openworld kind of thing?

I guess be more careful next time? I put screen protectors for these kinds of situations.
Unless you're OCD about it, you should be fine since it isn't noticeable.

Tareaway+Dragons Crown
Dragons Crown+Ys

I'd go with these two. Unless you really like FPS games or fighting games, I'd say these two are more worth it. Note that DC and Ys are action games and DC is kind of a beat em up with RPG elements while Ys is an adveture/hack and slash/ RPG game. You can never go wrong with Tearaway.

Those indie games are pretty good too actually. I'd say get Spelunky if you still have some cash left.

Yeah I just got it recently and didn't realize how soft the screen was.

Not a big deal though, you're right.

I didn't really want to say "deal with it" so I found some things you could do.

As fine as the particles in toothpaste as, they're still too coarse. I suggest using an ultra-fine water-based polishing paste, gently rubbing across the scratch in an elliptical motion, 10 or 15 degrees from perpendicular, and working from one end to the other.

Check the progress after each pass. Your purpose is not to completely remove the scratch, but to reduce its profile.

The flattened scratch will still be visible. At this point, using a fine-tipped art brush and a good magnifier (I use a jeweler's eye loupe), apply Future floor wax or a similar clear polish along the scratch. An eyeglass "scratch repair" fluid would likely work as well. The scratch is extremely shallow, so use the absolute minimum amount of liquid.

Leave it to completely dry. Then, thoroughly buff along the scratch, and briefly across it.

There's a lot of stuff like this on youtube so I suggest watching some stuff there. :D

I think this one works.

Im actually not huge into FPS, but I did enjoy the KZM beta.

Im usually more into RPGs and Metroidvania style games in most cases. Dragons Crown always seemed right up my alley because it looked like Golden Ax with Rpg elements. Ys just looks really cool but I dont have allot of knowledge of the series.

If you're worrying about how good Ys is then you could just buy Ys 7 or Ys Oath of Felghana first from PSN. They are 50% off currently. Buy Ys 7 first if you want to experience how Ys: MoC is because it's much close to it gameplay wise.

I want to try that but I don't know where to get the required things, so I guess I just have to deal with it :/
I'm using screen protector by the way, but it still have massive scratch that mysteriously got there. I'm seriously suggest people to use somekind of faceplate or something hard to protect the screen.

Her final boss is pretty frustrating for me. I've done Kisuke's twice but for her I think I died a lot of times.

Momohime boss is easy if you're patient. But I died a couple of time when "Oh, the torso can be destroyed. OK... going there, WTF FALLING ROCK BULLSHIT"

And DAT dog bite.

I think this one could be done at home using some toothpaste, a polish or a baking soda.

Thank you! Saved a few bucks doing it this way.

For any Aussies out there looking for a Vita, they just went on sale at EB games, can get a 3G Vita + Killzone Mercenary for $199 until Sunday. Just bit the bullet on one for my brother for christmas :)

I was really tempted to get a 3DS but I guess I've enough of a backlog already with the vita et al. Forgive me vitagaf for I've sinned.

Any good deals on VK3?

Any hope for a discount on Killzone Mercenary for Black Friday? When does the store update with the promotion for Black Friday anyway?

Off-topic, but is Zeno Clash 2 worth it? I gotta prepare my wallet for tomorrow..

Don't bother with the baking soda and toothpaste stuff to buff out your scratches. You're likely to just make it worse.

Put a screen protector on it and it should help cover it up a little. Maybe you'll forget all about it someday.

You think so? Really tempted to try it out. I wonder how much time machines cost...

I'm not a pristine hardware/OCD guy and I actually winced when reading this.

For some reason I pictured you taking a craft knife to the screen or something...

I imagine it wouldn't even make a noise... the sound of a Vita's soul fleeing its vessel... silence.

Sorry, I don't have any advice. You have my sympathies.

KZM will be $19.99 at Gamestop tomorrow. Not sure if the price will be available online before then. I intend to risk the crowds for that and a shot at Xenoblade Chronicles.

lmao, it was a bobby pin with a round plastic thing on the end actually, nothing crazy. I had just woken up and it was the first thing I saw. When I saw that it had actually scratched the screen I was so confused, and I was not quite awake and I hated myself afterwards. It's a really small scratch, just annoying.
