But seriously, the sub-par graphic direction is literally the only thing I've expressed disappointment with the Wii U version.
I wouldn't judge the graphics by the daily SubHD pictures.

Does it bother you in the video? It's animated and proper lighting is applied. That's how you'll see it when you/we finally can play the game. Looks a lot better than in the SubHD, static, zoomed in screenshot, doesn't it? :P

Well, it's not just the grass. I've never really been crazy about the whole primary color direction.

But w/e, I'll keep my mouth shut when I see a Mother character in sweet, sweet HD.
 
Ooo nice effects. Safe to assume they were added somewhat recently?...well as recent as that Marth pic with olimar since no videos showed that effect.
 
Torn between the awesome new near-death effect and the terrible grass textures/jaggies.

Still don't know how I feel about this game graphically. :(

The grass textures are going to be pretty much irrelevant out of the posing mode; it's not like you play the game that zoomed in. At a normal gameplay camera angle, they'll be fine.

Pic of the day. A red-black effect now appears when you're hit by a strong blow. It'll only appear when you have high damage, so when you see this you're in trouble--and you're probably about to get KO'd!

So basically is a message were you can scream to your friends

Looks like Toon Link's fsmash to me. I'm loving those effects, it reminds me in Melee when the characters made an agony sound when they're at high %s and hit by a strong attack.

Haha this is the same thing that came to mind. Gives hope that sakurai will bring it back after not putting it in brawl.
 
I want you to imagine that effect in a 4 player match, played in a custom map with a spike pit that has the lowest ceiling possible.
