You have to go to the store and there under PS+ it says "14 day trial" or something like that. Only restriction is that you don't have an active subscription.

If you had Plus at any point in the past, no matter how long ago, you won't be able to redeem the 14 day trial either.

Check your settings maybe, vibration could be deactivated.

As soon as you put a disc in, the logo pops up on the home screen and you can see a progress bar under it.

yeah the vibration function is on under the settings but there's nothing :( and sweet I must have missed that on KZ lol

I'm hoping all the lagginess is a result of network problems, otherwise I was expecting a far smoother experience.

Even in this state it's luxurious compared to PS3 though, especially for switching users.

I was just playing it. It doesn't. It's behind the PC Crysis 2/3, BF3/4, Witcher 2 and Metro Last Light. Frame Rate is only 30 (and noticeably stuttery), there's jaggies and LOD pop in. It looks great, but those games all look considerably better.

Thanks. I was wondering that. The screen shots for Killzone look great but I still felt that Crysis 2/3 looked better.

Aiii

So not worth it
Had a bit of a scare earlier. Switched to another hdmi channel during dinner and when I switched back I suddenly had this:

rlu7.jpg

Changed HDMI cables, still there. Changed HDMI ports. Still there. Turned off the system completely. Still there. Remote Play was working fine. Started sweating and cursing.

Connected my PS4 to my LED monitor and all was fine. Phew. Called Sony support, somebody else with a Samsung TV like me had the same problem earlier and fixed it by updating the Firmware on his TV, so I did the same and lo and behold:

Phew.

Hurrah!

Delivery attempted, call card left Sandwell service centre 29th Nov 2013 19:50

Lying bastards! No-one rang my door and I don't have a card.
Re-arranged my delivery for tomorrow by phone robot.
Rang again and spoke to a human to try and amend my address (the building has two postcodes and sometimes one works and the other doesn't) and was told that the client doesn't allow changes to the address. So if the drivers satnav can't find me another 2 times it looks like thehuts PS4 stock will be going up +1
The helpful human did say he will try and get a note to the depot with the alternative postcode and my telephone number but its likely they won't see it in time as its shut.

:(

Is anyone else's downloading ridiculously slow?

I've been downloading Warframe for about 30 mins and it's only about 20% of the way through, I assume that it's because of the load...

I love my PS4. The controller, the OS, the system and that the devide is so small as it is in compare to the giant Xbone and PS3 and 360 will make it very easy to have with me on LAN etc.

Remote play is amazing.

At first I was a little disappointed with the latency and quality but after getting used to it I'm in love with the feature!

It works really well, even on 3G network (Tethering) I was able to play Resogun without any issue, besides that it used nearly 700Mb for 20 mins :(

I got on the PSN for the first time about an hour ago and I haven't been kicked. All F2P and PSPlus games have fully downloaded over the past hour, impressed with the download speeds.

Anyone else having trouble redeeming codes for the PS3 to PS4 upgrade offer?
I tried redeeming AC4's code but it took me back to the home screen

So I got my PS4 at midnight.

Had it on most of today. About half an hour ago it started powering off.
I turn it back on, in safe mode. Boots up OK then after a min or so it turns off again.
The light on the top stays white.

Any ideas Gaf? :(

Phew, just finished my first day of playing - had a big marathon session and loving the PS4 so far.

I was worried it wouldn't be as big a generational leap due to diminishing returns but after having seen some of the launch titles first hand that's clearly not the case, battlefield 4 looks incredible - rough around the edges, but compared to the last generations equivalent launch title (Call of Duty 2) it's on a complete other level. Can't wait to see how good games built for this new generation alone will look.

In terms of the hardware I was braced for it to be loud and run very hot, only for it to be whisper quiet and "warm" even after a day of playing. Compared to my launch PS3 which sounds like a jet engine and is probably around the same temperature as one it's a definite upgrade.

The OS is nice and simple - maybe too simple, but seeing as it doesn't have a lot of games/apps yet I'm not too worried.

Joypad is awesome, I always preferred the 360 pad to the PS3 but think they might have overtaken them this gen, the grip on the sticks is lovely.

So yup, Sony delivered on the hype as far as I'm concerned. Would be interesting to see in an alternative reality when I choose the Xbox One if I'd still be as satisfied.

Sucks mate, mine hasn't shown up either. It arrived in Glasgow 5.30am this morning and was sent from there at 11.30am and it's still not arrived here in Aberdeen. What a shambles. Now it says I won't have it until Monday but I'm f'ing working, I took today off work because Amazon reassured me last night I would get my console today and that's the shipping I paid for as well.

They've offered me 10 pounds worth of credit for my troubles but that's not gonna cut it.

Watching some of these streams on Live Broadcast are great, good to watch while others are giving me the giggles especially the comment sections. Guy was getting frustrated with NBA2k14 ,swearing and some weirdo kept posting "Show me your P3NIS" which made him even more furious.

The streaming thing is deffo a major plus for PS4, MS needs to step up in that regard

Well Amazon have totally failed me. A 'technical issue' prevented delivery but I've been assured it'll arrive tomorrow. Rubbish.

Now I'm going to drink some beers.

Insane For Sony

It looks different enough from any of those, due to some of the effects and rendering techniques it uses, that it doesn't matter whether it technically looks better or not, and some things certainly do look better, while some like popin are worse, even though it's not that bad. BF3, W2 and C2 don't look too hot in comparison, IMO, you can tell the rendering techniques were improved since those came out. And frame rate is more like 40 most of the time. The stuteriness is because it fluctuates between 35-40, not because it drops below 30.

I'm sure this has been posted already, but I was a little worried that the light on top of the PS3 was white rather than blue. Found this link, which covers what the lights mean:

Lights up blue then white: powering on
Lights up white: powered on
Lights up orange: standby mode
Flashing red: overheating, let it cool

AC4 looks bloody lovely too.
The thing most people don't understand about cross gen games is that resolution absolutely matters. If you have a good looking game like assassins creed and you just double the resolution it's going to look amazing. It won't look like killzone but it will look great. It's reason enough to upload, especially for those of us with 40"+ TVs.

My greatness arrived at 10.30. Not spent all that much time with it but Resogun via Vita OMG

Played a little Killzone, still have NFS and COD sealed (may get rid of COD)

Downloads are still slow as fuck ?
( and no speed checker in network settings )

3-4 hours for 6gb or Warthunder is terribad.

PSN is extremely slow today because of everyone wanting to play at the same time, so not the best day to see how the downloads on ps4 will be. From what I've noticed it is much faster than on ps3. You can speed test in network settings by testing connecting.

I get about 47mbit/s down. I hope that it is slow because of psn being hammered and not because it won't go any faster on ps4

Welp.. phoned GAME today to ask about availability of PS4's the guy I usually speak to when I call in said that they where still going through preorders (as expected).. I asked about any consoles left over tomorrow or Monday.. he said they would be going into bundles.. which are priced between 580 - 600 quid..(to be fair the guy sounded like he was embarassed when he said the price) when I asked him are they specific bundles from SONY.. he said no they are the base console and games and accessories they put to them to make up a bundle...I asked about my phase 2 preorder.. from August... he said.. it will be in a few weeks >_>

They were doing this while I was in the shop earlier, was only picking up Need For Speed but they were having this conversation with somebody, "Yeah, we've got loads but you need to buy a £500 bundle to get one. You can choose what goes in the bundle".

I know the shop will only make a couple of quid or so from a console sale but I was surprised to here about the bundles they were forcing on people.
