I have 13. Game is easily the best portable soccer game ever. Pretty amazing how good it is. That being said its missing a lot from the improvements made past 12. Its Pretty much FIFA 12 I think.

I REALLY like the touch screen shooting though. Is that on the PS4 version with the touch pad? Cause it should be.

What about Tactical Defending? Have they included it or is it the same defending as in Pre-FIFA 12?

After this weekends pickups my Vita gonna get a ton of usage. I may have over done it.
PS+ renewal
Tearaway
KZ mercenaries
Rayman Legends
Ys Memories of Celceta

Is Ys really worth it for the cost right now? I just got Tearaway so I feel like I can play that along with PS+ stuff until it gets cheaper.

Question: Did Sony ever relay the date of when the PS+ titles will hit PSN for download?

Also, I'm glad the Vita is finally starting to see some good support...

Wondering if you guys could help me with this. I just noticed a weird blotch on the screen that I could've sworn wasn't there before, but I can't help not seeing now. It's best seen against a dark background like here:

I'm pretty sure it's not a mura effect blotch. I've had a look at the mura thing on my screen and it doesn't match up with this pattern that I can see under any lighting condition as well.

Got my Vita like two weeks ago and thinking about returning it while I can.

Side note: hope those Christmas PSN deals get better than 50% FIFA. Maybe Steam has spoiled me d:

edit: there's also black line like that at the bottom, perfectly horizontally. Is this burn-in? I've kept my brightness down and only played in super short sessions :/

I think that's just something that happens with OLED.

I should still be good for November's games if I activate PS+ Tuesday morning right?

You'll be good to get whatever isn't cycled out yet.
Even if you wait, only a PS3 game will cycle on Tuesday, I think -- Dragon's Dogma, maybe. So depending on which "November games" you want to grab, you can wait even longer. (Shame on you for not having an active sub. :P)

Question: Did Sony ever relay the date of when the PS+ titles will hit PSN for download?

There's a complex procedure for figuring it out -- it has to do with cross referencing Gregorian and Julian calendars with the lunar cycle and factoring in the date of the next harvest moon and solar eclipses.

Didn't like the overly complicated vertical movement or the characters that were ugly as fuck and cringeworthy to read/hear.

Not sure how else to characterize the disembodied floating Heihachi cosplay head in your avatar... :P

I'm mulling over spending my PSN wallet funds ($22.50) on Persona 4 or waiting on whatever these other holiday sales could bring...

I mean, what else could top P4G for $20?

Doooo it!

I'm sitting at 60 hours on my first playthrough. I can't remember the last time I spent 60 hours on a single game this past year. It's worth it full price. At $20, you should feel guilty and donate something to charity.

overly complicated vertical movement

You just select squares that you can move to like every other isometric, grid-based strategy rpg. Available squares are based on movement distance and jump height of the character.

You can use lifting to bypass all sorts of things and battle in more creative, efficient ways, but you don't have to at all... it just gives you extra options outside of normal SRPG movement. It basically lets you cheat and do something the enemy never does.

Also got Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. I like it.

This is sort of mind-blowing to me... but first let me say that I'm glad you're happy with it. :)

From what I've heard, I think the performance is supposed to be worse than NGS+ with worse graphics. That's just something I can't tolerate. I'll try it if it ever comes to PS+, but for the price and what's offered? No thanks.

--

Rayman Origins is also ridiculously good -- look for that in a sale if you don't own it via PS+ and haven't played it.
Luckily for you, they JUST patched the missing content into the Vita version. I just bought it too, but haven't started it yet.

I'm no NG snob so I like it ;). Got it for 23.00 used.

I have origins from ps+. Playing it at the same time but I think I like legends more.

No use. That dude has made up his mind awhile ago, and no amount of explaining will sway him. It is fine, opinions and all.

I traded in my old Vita to help pay off one of my next gen console preorders but knew that I would want to get another Vita eventually. After seeing all of the reviews of Tearaway and everyone linking their Vita with their PS4s, I decided to order a new one.

I just ordered a Light Blue/ White 2000 model Vita along with Tearaway for the wife and I. I can't wait til they both come in the mail.

And disagree with the bold.
It is an acceptable port of a great game plagued by issues with framerate, first and foremost (it can't even manage to keep a solid 30, which is a problem before we even get to how halving the speed of the game from the original is detrimental to the gameplay experience). Combine with some terrible bow mechanics and you're not a good anything. :P

The quote was in regards to my statement that Ninja Gaiden was a great port of a great game.

I can't disagree with your assessment, I just can overlook them because I love having a playable portable version. The gameplay holds up fine for me, but I know there are some issues there too. Nothing that should scare anyone off though.

I couldn't stomach playing it long enough to answer the spoiler. I like retro things. I like the old GTA games. I did NOT like this.
Maybe it had something to do with GAF hyping the hell out of it prior to release -- but I thought it was going to be fantastic. I even went out of my way to procure some PSN cards while I was on vacation the week it came out.
I proceeded to download the demo and play it, ready to drop that $15 on it immediately. And I couldn't get more than 10 minutes in before I thought "this is terrible, I'm not giving them money for this." and promptly deleted it.

This was in reference to Retro City Rampage

That was my exact same experience. I was so hyped for this bc of the feedback here but also because of the same things you mentioned in the beginning. I love retro throwbacks, I loved the old PSOne GTA games probably the best out of all of them. But this game never really clicked with me.

Rayman Legends is so good. Has a ton of content too.

Glad I picked it up.

Yea, I picked up Legends today and am unbelievably happy I did so. It is just as good as Origins and is blowing me away in the same manner it did.

Good to see some positive statements for Sigma 2 as well. I noticed it is no longer on the PSN store for some reason. Anyone know why?

Welcome back :)

Check out Spelunky, Hotline Miami and Flower if you haven't before.

.

I too hope it comes to PS+. I want to play it but not for 25+. A lot of the review/impressions have driven me away.

Soul Sacrifice is so cheesy thus far. I posted that before but does it get better? I actually liked the talking book, but the main character and him fighting an pretty-boy anime head dragon was lol.

Just ordered an 8gb memory card for $17. Should hold me over fine until I get myself a 64gb in a few months, can't afford that at the moment!

Gah, I want this thing here now! x_x

What seems to be the best place to order a Vita 2000 and is it actually worth the upgrade? The Black/Pink one looks so good, it's definitely tempting!

I can't wait for Spelunky to finally go on sale. Hopefully it will around the holidays.

It would be a great pick for a sale, could do with more people sharing their fail stories on the daily challenges ;)

More vita space is the best, enjoy :)

Well, one of the Vitas has a OLED screen and the other has a LED screen.

Honestly though, I would stick with the original Vita; it seems like Sony made some cuts with the new model and it's probably going to be a cheaper product to be honest

Check all the normal import venues and pick the one that offers you something you're most comfortable with.
NipponYasan.com, PlayAsia.com, YesAsia.com, AmiAmi.com, etc.

Plenty of people in here have posted reviews and impressions of the Vita 2000. It's asked almost with the same frequency as "when is X going to be free on PS+"? :lol

If you're too bothered to search, the general consensus is that the hardware changes are all improvements EXCEPT the screen. If you don't care about the difference in the screen, Vita 2000 all the way. If you can't stomach the screen, stick with the original OLED model.

Finished Tearaway yesterday (story not 100%) and was wondering what was next. Smiled all the way through it. Going to take my time going back to it to pick up the missed collectibles. Such a great game.

So on a whim I decided to pick up the three PSP Ys games on sale this evening, Ys 1&2, Ys Seven, and Ys Oath of Felghana. I'm excited to try them out as I've never played an Ys game before. I am an RPG fan and the series seems to have a pretty good following around Gaf so I figured I wasn't wasting my money.

For those of you who have played them, is going through them in order recommended or would you recommend some other order?

I still have plenty of other games that are unfinished but the recent Ys release has me wanting to see what the series is like.

Oh, btw it's been great to see a lot of new VitaGAF members lately. Hopefully the news is spreading about just what a great device the Vita is.

Honestly, I don't think the direction of that grade is up. The have neat colours and they're thinner, but inferior otherwise. They were made to be affordable and more competitive with 3DS price wise, not necessarily a better system overall.

I wonder when we will get those new PS+ games

Just got Killzone. Great game. When are we getting the new patch that frees up about 800mb? 1.1 GB is too big for my 8GB stick.

Whitehawk are those free ps1 games available on PS Home.

Your not even a hour in.

Hey, does anyone know where I can find a list of all the North American PS1 games that are not on Vita in any capacity, download transfer or otherwise? I know the Crash and Spyro games are examples of this (and it really sucks) but what else?

It is IGN but here is a link .
Yea, I checked that but it is out of date, was browsing the store on a friends Vita earlier today and there were definitely some games on the store not accounted for here. Seems to be one of the more in depth lists from what I've seen too. :/

I would recommend playing ten in order. Thing is you might get burnt out of chronicles. If that happens just skip it until later. I played I and liked it but by the time I played II I didn't want to go back to that game again. So I just skipped II and I'll play the others during Christmas breaks.

I am in the same boat, though my current card is 32gb. But I can't fit all my games on there, so I need to go 64 once the holidays get past.

Truth! The original Vita is a beautiful piece of hardware, one of the best devices I have ever owned. Stick with that.

Well the primary reason I ask is because clearly some of these websites are charging significantly more. Play-Asia has the Vita for $300 vs NCSX's for $230. I'm assuming most people who bought one probably shopped around for the least expensive available option and would be able to relay that information to make the search a little easier.

Thanks for input regarding the upgrade though, OLED screen is nice and all but I tend to prefer the slimmer models so this may just be up my alley.

Best bet then, if the ign link is true, it says it is 2 months old. Check out all the psn updates between now and that link and you should have all the new ones. I imagine it is hard to get a full list of ps1 games that are transferable to the vita.

Getting a Vita for Xmas from the wife! I am so stoked and cannot wait, but I had a question. Without a ps3/4 can I still download psp games like tactics ogre to it?

Tactics Ogre can be because it is in the vita store. I am not sure how you can get a game like Valkyria Chronicles 2(or at least the DLC) that needs to be transferred from a PS3.

I don't think so because you cannot download games to your computer. And I don't think they let you transfer a game to a usb stick and then to your computer.

Thanks for all the info, one last question is there somewhere I could see what's in the vita store?
