Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 3: Ridley's Believe It or Not!

Being able to control the assist trophies on the gamepad would be righteous.

I am still praying for a god mode.

as I'm thinking about it, the only options that could possibly work for that scenario are Crash Bandicoot or Spyro. Can anyone else think of any?

People poke fun at Playstation All-Stars for putting in characters that have nothing to do with Sony and you're suggesting Sakurai put in Crash or Spyro?

I'll never understand the hypocrisy. Little Mac is enough to hype me, Nintendo shouldn't stick to too many more third parties.

If we do get Mii, would you guys rather have an established moveset, or more of a create-a-fighter style/mode with custom moves?
I'd personally prefer Mii having a moveset to itself, as I really have zero interest in any character having customizable moves. I think adding such a feature will end up taking away from the core Smash Bros. feel too much.

Either way, Mii has a ridiculous amount of moveset potential, so I eagerly anticipate seeing what Sakurai's team can come up with. Between Wii Sports, Wii Party, Wii Play, Streetpass Mii Plaza... there is a LOT to pull from!

While I'd personally like CAF, I think it'd be better for the 4 player party fighting fun if it was an established move set. Mii's will already be annoying if people pick them then spend 10 minutes picking which specific Mii they want.

I could see them taking a Find Mii/Street Pass Quest route with the Mii's and making an attack or two dependent on that Mii's 'favorite color'. Nothing too dramatic, maybe just a red Mii has a fireball style attack for a neutral B while a light blue Mii has an ice one instead, but while it'd be a bitch to balance I'm assuming for such a character targeted more at casuals that wouldn't be high priority anyhow.

I can't see a potential Mii being anything but some kind of custom character. Miis are unique from every other character in Smash Bros. in that they don't represent a single game or series -- they're simply avatars used to fulfill the role required by a given game. In Wii Sports they play sports, in Wii Fit they do fitness exercises, in Mario Kart they race karts, and so on. They have limitless potential.

Just take a look at this, this, and this. You can't sufficiently represent the concept of a Mii by simply pulling from the dozens upon dozens of games it appears in. That would just result in a directionless, jumbled move set. It needs to serve its own role within the context of Smash Bros.

even if a returning character hasn't been revealed i still think Sakurai should show us new stages based on a returning character/franchise

we know everyone is coming back.

do itttttttttttt

I wonder if we can look forward to a Nintendo Direct scheduled for Japan and Europe come Friday, airing at the same time as Reggie appears at the VGX, like last year with the September event. If so, oh man, I'd expect Smash megatons there.

The reason I said "I have no idea" is that as recently as E3 2013 Nintendo made a big deal about a press announcement then was like "TROLLOLOLOL WII FIT TRAINER IN SMASH". Nintendo is crazy enough to do something like that at the VGX we could get something bonkers like that
