Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 3: Ridley's Believe It or Not!

Well, there's...

Yup! BUT, Smash is also real popular with VGX's crowd, easily the Nintendo franchise with more success with both casual and hardcore gamers. Not to mention, if Snake is coming back, it would be a perfect opportunity to announce his return.

Totally agree, plus I'd love for it to be Smash. I could see them maybe announcing a sponsored tournament or something.

I wouldn't doubt it being Bayonetta 2. Revengeance was at the VGAs before.

True, though that was a Metal Gear spin-off. I was more thinking about the target audience for the VGAs and Zelda and Smash seem to be the two Nintendo franchises that I think most people viewing would respond to. Bayonetta doesn't really have the same reach/appeal.

I guess VGX, if there is a new Smash trailer, will probably debut characters the western audience of Spike would find the most appealing...so probably not a Mother character, or someone like Takamaru.

I think Little Mac would be perfect, since he's sort of the "western" character in my mind.

Nintendo has presence at VGX?! This is new news to me. HYPE!!!

Best Case Smash-Related Scenario: New trailer! New characters! New stages! New items! Demo!
Worst Case Smash-Related Scenario: Wii Fit U + Wii Sports Club reminders and demonstrations.

I'd guess Mac and Pac-Man if by some slim chance there was a major new trailer at the VGX awards for SSB4, though if she's happening for whatever reason Bayonetta might elicit a stronger reaction from the crowd over Pac.

Pic of the day. Turnips are used in the Villager's up-air and down-air attacks. Perhaps because the turnip prices fluctuate depending on the day's market, the number of turnips that appear changes every time. How cute.

Well it is something new, and something to do with mechanics/moves which is always welcome

I imagine that Nintendo's VGX showing will have something to do with either Smash, Zelda or some surprise game being announced. I agree that Bayonetta would seem too niche for Spike's audience, and wouldn't have as much presence.

I'm pretty sure that we will get the game somewhen in 2014.

Yeah, with a much larger team size, a solid development direction from the start and a much more dire console situation than Brawl, Nintendo/NB are going to get the game out next year come hell or high water.

True, I think it will be releasing next year but towards the end of the year as of now. I hope I'm wrong (with the hope it will release earlier) but with two awesome versions of the game i think they will take their time and rightfully so. It will also be interesting to see if the game will have patches. NB should be use to creating patches small updates but I don't know if Sakurai will allow the game to be released without it being perfect enough in his eyes.

The turnip looks horrible, honesty if you had told me this was a brawl mod photo I'd believe you

remember the game is still basically in alpha
but also it probably could look like that on purpose, never played animal crossing tho so idk what the turnips look like at all

Missed opportunity by not having Peach in the pic.

This looks pretty interesting. I wonder how high the knock back could get on those.

Interesting. Given the style of Animal Crossing, the look of the turnips doesn't bother me much.

So I suppose that confirms Villager's UAir, then. I wonder if the number of turnips affects the knockback or damage? I hope not, and would suspect not - if it did you'd think Sakurai would have mentioned it in the Miiverse comment.

Before I see the pic, I gauge interest my interest by how far up this topic is on the Gaming side. When I saw it, it was the 14th topic from the top.

Come #1-5, I'll be ready.
