Seems like it's just a troll building on established rumors (this stage hinting at Miis being playable, the #ReggieForBrawl craze, the Donkey Kong Country Boxart leak on Amazon).

I would assume that you can use any Mii from your system for the face, otherwise what's the point. I do fully expect Mii to be a character, regardless of whether this leak is true.

DK Country, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros all in the first half would really help the Wii U out. Delays are always a real possibility, so who knows.
 
YES! I was worried Miis would be restricted to the ol Wii X games so I'm really glad the plaza games have got some rep. Now to hope that as well as the obvious use the the excellent Mii Quest music being used lets some some from Mii Force is used as well.
 
You just know when they announce Reggie up on the stage they'll show a headshot of Mii on the projector with his name and role, business as usual. But part way through his talking the text disappears along with the blank background only leaving his full Mii and then bam! Mario jumps on the Reggie Mii's head and it's the start of a short Smash trailer announcing Miis are playable.

Geoff K stands there and cries.

Yeah... so why is there a Mii stage to begin with? Mii character reveal soon?

Then again, Pictochat exists on Brawl, so it could just be another one of them.

IF nintendo will shows something at VGX (IF)
IF it's not an already available game as Mario World
IF it's not the next big game aka DK Tropical
it's almost sure that's Smash
and Miis are almost sure to be in that game imho.

so, could be.

Is Find Mii 2 considered new? It feels like I've been slowly progressing through it for a long time now.

The unique aspect of the streetpass games is that they take favourite colour into account. Would be interesting if that somehow translated into a special move if Mii is playable even if it just the animation.

Released December 2011, so no, it's not new. It's just current gen. But Brawl had stuff that was from the Wii/DS gen as well, so that shouldn't be surprising.
 
You know, a lot of people speculated that if the original E3 rumor was true, it would make sense that they decided at the last moment to hold back some of the reveals for another time, maybe they actually planned for an appearance at VGX way back then. Guess the VGX will be the moment of truth for that original rumor.
 
I think that's a possibility as well and they could JUST reveal Mii to really keep us guessing, but if that WAS the case, I think there would still be unlockable secret characters (Falco, G+W, Ganondorf, Marth, etc in Melee and ROB, Wolf, Toon Link, etc in Brawl) As I've said before I'm hoping Sakurai goes more Melee in terms of secret characters with some real surprises rather than Brawl's pretty much expected unlockables.

For me personally, a big thing is how many characters on the total roster I actually enjoy playing as.

Sure I've got my personal favourites in terms of possible additions, but once I actually have the game in my hands? What I care about what % of the roster I actively like playing.


I'm not too worried about how many new chars we get for this reason, megaman, villager & WFT all look like they'd be a blast to play; and by the sound of it the game'll be less of a slow flaoty mess than brawl. (which honestly made certain chars I used to like feel bad to me)

I still hope for more than just 6 chars of course, but who knows?

I'm hoping it isn't true and if it is then I'm definitely going 3DS version only because I'm not paying $60 for only 6 new characters. This is in addition to (Pit and Bowser aside) no notable improvements to old characters with the same Sakurai balancing, a scaled down single player component, no talk of online -given Nintendo's record I'm not expecting much here, and at a 6 year wait since Brawl.

Also I doubt Mii would be the VGX reveal, if it is then Nintendo have no clue how to read their audience. The other two rumored characters would be a better fit, specifically Little Mac.
 
Damn you 3DS... I really hope this is not the case... I want at least 10 new characters, in addition to everyone from before(and Mewtwo should return). If SSFIV 3D managed to have a big roster, while it didn't use much space on the cartridge, I don't see why Sakurai won't be able to deliver a huge game...
