It's been
rated by the ESRB for quite some time now, so it's really just a matter of time until it comes out.
Hopefully the Sly ports won't be botched like the Jak ports apparently were... :/
They aren't that bad. Jak II is worse than Jak & Daxter. I got the platinum in J&D, got further than I've ever gotten in Jak II before calling it quits because I *hate* Jak II.
There are some framerate drops in J&D, but I only saw them in one specific place in one of the first areas on a beach, on the far side that you rarely go to. For some reason it chugged there like crazy.
The only other issue was Jak grabbing ledges of moving platforms just didn't work. (which no review that trashed the game ever mentioned) He'd just slide right off, so the last level was harder than normal, BUT, it was actually nice of a nice challenge to have to actually perfect your platforming skills and not rely on grabbing ledges if you barely miss. Silver lining.
Jak II had more frequent framerate drops in the tediously large open world and the rear touch doesn't work that well to switch altitudes. I don't know why they didn't just map the 'dark eco' skill thing to the touch screen instead of rear touch. Tapping the icon would make more sense to me.
And visually I thought they both looked fine.
Was worth it to play J&D portable. People exaggerate too much. The fact people harped on them overlooking the inclusion of the rumble in the options as "evidence" of the "bad port" just shows to me that they're just looking for reasons to hate it because it's on Vita. Reminds me of a review of a game I read that complained about "boring font". When you have to go there... maybe it's not really as bad as you're saying it is. Otherwise, there would be enough actual things to complain about. Not something stupid like an oversight or font.
But whatever.
I also liked the touch screen use in the menus. Made navigating them a lot better... and the fishing mini game on J&D was easy as hell compared to PS3. Stupid DS3 deadzone.
ANYHOO, I really want the Sly and R&C Collections on Vita. D;
