Exactly, I loved buying DLC on disc releases so I could 'preserve' them and feel (in my head at least) like I had a copy of it somewhere sorta thing. Stopped caring when all these types of things just came with codes to download the shit anyway.

Agreed. It's a dirty tactic done so that:
a) in most cases they don't have to go gold with a new version but just print different art on the disc
b) if the game gets traded in there's a chance the new buyer will dip in the DLC. It's even worse when it's just SP DLC content.
 
Any gaf member who works in UK retail heard any Boxing day/Jan sales info yet? Im planning on picking a Wii U up on around the 20th but if anyone is gonna be slashing prices instore or offering good bundles i might wait.

I'm sure bugger all people follow me on twitter so I'll post this here too! If you're interested in that huge Final Fantasy artbook, "The Sky," then get over to amazon where it's £24. RRP is £65 apparently, and GAME in-store have it for £50. I've never seen it drop below £40 before.

I missed out on the original run and didn't even realise it had been reprinted, so to be able to finally get a copy and for such a great price too is amazing!

I'm looking for a PS3 console for the lowest possible price in the UK. It can be preowned as long as it comes with a warranty ala Game (ie I'm trying to steer clear of eBay).

It can be any model but preferably something newer, the 12GB Super Slim would be ideal as I can install a HDD.

I wholeheartedly recommend the art book. I bought a copy back in September on ebay (I paid £32 in total, which I thought was an amazing deal) and love it. It's 3 individual books (covering I-III, IV-VI and VII-IX). It's a must for any fan of the series or Amano's artwork.
 
Anyone know if GAME are still charging £55 instore for PS4 games? Got £50 credit there and want NFS Rivals but am no way paying the extra £5.

£55 in the Basildon store for games right now, absolute con. How much is it on the PSStore? Maybe swap to vouchers and get digital? Better for any remote play, no disc swapping!
 
Pfft game randomly cancelled my gt6 preorder without a word. Didn't pay by PayPal either so don't think it was because of that and I have money on my card. :|

Edit: Think it must have been due to the Natwest issues. >.<

Yup. Just redeem it. Wait 5 minutes until it shows up in your purchase history and then you can use the PS3 -> PS4 upgrade path if you have $10 in your wallet or a way to add those dollars to the wallet.

I've done it a few days ago when the price was a bit higher still.

Note it works fine with AC4 and BF4 but there is a problem right now with COD Ghosts - the code you get seems to not allow the upgrade - I bought it and didnt read all the feedback on the page so i'm stuck right now with the PS3 version only and cant upgrade (Amazon said they are aware of the issue and working on it).

So if you see a good price for AC or for BF then grab them but avoid Ghosts until its fixed.

Doesn't look like it unfortunately, I haven't seen it cheaper than about £40 anywhere. I actually ended up buying Blops 2 when the £12 deal was still on because I haven't played it on any console yet, and the general GAF consensus is that it's a better game than Ghosts.
 
Are there any GAME coupons active now? I'm going to place a £60 order soon but if I can save a few pounds that would be sweet.
Unfortunately the name of their store makes it impossible to ctrl+F this thread :/

I can't check personally because I don't have a gamestop in my town but the page says "In negozio e online (spedizione gratuita)" (in stores and online - free delivery).

I picked up a 360 copy today at Blockbuster for a little over £4 - they're closing down so everything is 70% off. Might be worth a look just in case!

It's worth getting either way as both bits of story DLC are now free.
