I actually have those games codes but haven't redeemed them yet. Maybe I'll give them away come X-Mas.

Is that Home free game promotion only US or it in in Europe too? I'm always interested in PS1 games.

So I finally bought a Vita and it will likely be delivered today. I bought it with two cards, one of 8GB and the other of 4GB. My question is: Can I switch them freely whenever I want or do I need to reset the Vita or do some kind of shenanigan every time I want to switch the cards?

Only if you want to switch accounts, I think.

Did some of you play Tearaway with the first person camera(with wide angle lens)?
I used it to find hidden things and imo it's another game that demonstrates that first person games work well on vita.

Yeah, there are some places where I didn't like the fixed camera, so I used the camera. You can even jump with it (not roll though).

Just impulse purchased Tearaway based on GAF recs. Will see if I dun goofed when I wake up in a couple hours.

You won't regret purchasing it :)

It's here! \(^__^)/

Very very happy with it. I'm absolutely blown away by the OLED screen, I've never seen anything like it! Probably the most aesthetically-pleasing gadget I own.

I signed up for the PSN+ trial...woah, all these games man, how do I hold them? I spent ages just browsing through the store, looking at all the PSOne and PSP games that I wanna buy. My eyes couldn't believe the amount of games to buy on this thing. This is my first Sony console since the PS2 so I have a LOT to catch up on! My poor wallet :[
I'm actually so excited to play the old Crash and Spyro games, the FF series, MGS...couldn't stop smiling when I saw these on the store :)

I made my first purchase on the PSN store, Spelunky, which looks gorgeous, but I suck at it. I'll keep at it though, hopefully I'll get past 1-3 eventually haha.

I started playing Tearaway too. Wow, such a pleasant experience! I adore this game, it just looks, sounds, feels beautiful. I'm definitely gonna savour this game, play in little parts rather than steam through it.

The Vita model that I received was actually a 3G model. I have no plans at all to use the 3G function, but will this affect the battery in any way? Also, is there a way to get rid of the "No SIM" on the taskbar? No biggie, but it would be nice to not have it there.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the PS Vita. Still can't get over the size of the library it has. Now I just need to find the time to play everything that I want. I think I'm actually gonna postpone the purchase of a PS4! :o
Thanks to VitaGAF for actually persuading me to get one. I've been reading the various Vita threads these past few weeks and I'm glad I did because this little device is a great addition to my hobby.

Welcome to VitaGAF! Didn't one of the firmware updates get rid of the No SIM text? If not, you can always turn it to airplane mode, which is what I usually do.

Thats not exactly true as whatever is not listed on the compatible list wont work. Since in the PSV TV import thread some folks mentioned some titles did not work, which were not part of the supported list.

The bottom line is, if you dont buy things on the JPSN dont buy a PSV TV. Period.

I thought it was a given that anyone with a brain would know that only the supported games are working because of the missing touch inputs.

Are any of you guys excited about Vita TV?

Would you buy one to compliment your Vita?

Perhaps more importantly: Do you think it would appeal to anyone not already owning a Vita?

It seems to be doing craptastically in Japan so far, clocking in on 5k in its third week today.
I"d buy two in a heartbeat. One for my bedroom as a streaming and quick-play-before-bedtime device and one for my living room. As much as I love my vita, I'd be doing backflips if I could play some of these games on the big screen.

Just impulse purchased Tearaway based on GAF recs. Will see if I dun goofed when I wake up in a couple hours.
It gives The Last of Us a run for GOTY in my books. Haven't had such a joyful experience like I did in Tearaway in a long time. It's just so full of heart and soul. And the soundtrack! Sssooo good...

Congrats and welcome. That's a great bundle. As for the 3G. It won't affect battery not using it. Keep the SIM in there; it doesn't make you subscribe to AT&T, and as far as I know, there's no way to get rid of the No SIM dialog. However, with the SIM inserted, there IS a way to take the "No Service" indicator off, via the settings.

I'm behind on Vita/PSP games, but Ys Seven is sooooo enjoyable. Normal combat is quite button-mashy but still fun and bosses are pretty much the perfect level of difficulty so far (on normal).

Absolutely fantastic game with a great soundtrack, as expected.

Damn, flOw is 300 MB big? How can such a game be that big?

Terraria really isn't coming today...I have been waiting for months and thought we finally get it today. Now there is only disappointment.

And to complete todays fuck ups, the crossbuy version of Stick it to the Man is not available yet for everyone who owns the PS3 version.

Edit: oh wait, more bullshit. Instead of being free, Blacklight Retribution costs €3 in Germany. Yeah cool, let everyone else get it for free but not the evil Nazi Germans.
I know it is to prevent kids from getting it but at least make it 1 Cent and free for PS+ users. Both ways ensure no kid can legally get the game and Sony already uses the latter option.
But why would Germans care, they already get fucked by Sony with the delayed Killzone bundle for 4 weeks.

You have made the right choice.
Now play the heck out of Uncharted and Gravity Rush. It is also of utmost importance that you purchase Killzone Mercenary and Persona 4 Golden, as well as extending your PS+ subscription.

There are supposed to be three Gravity Rush DLC packs right?

I can only find the Maid and Military Pack on German PSN.

Edit: Just saw this on PS Blog, doesn't seem to affect only Germany

The Spy Mission Pack from Gravity Rush is unavailable to buy.
Why?

Spy Mission DLC and Stick it to the Man are being looked into…

Can anybody buy it right now?

I'd get one for my living room TV to stream PS4 games to it

Now I'm doubting myself. Great.

Anyone bought Spelunky while it's on sale? I played the demo but I'm still on the fence.

The most fun I've had in a long time with a video game. But that's when I played four player death match with three PS3 controllers and my Vita. The amount of griefing is awesome there. Haven't really dug into single player much though.

Finished Ys Memories of Celceta yesterday. Good game and don't regret my purchase. Although I am a bit pissed that a couple of trophies glitched on me and prevented me from obtaining them.

Came back to Sly Cooper and I have to say that I really love this game. I'm so glad I purchased it. Areas in the game are big and I love trying to figure out how to get all the treasures and such. I highly recommend it.

Welcome aboard Adzin, keep in mind that most PSX games are 50 Hz, with some not being optimized for 50 Hz like the Square games.

Flying Hamster HD
Strikers 1945 Plus (PSP)
The Red Star (PSP) isn't exactly a shmup, but it has sections that are reminiscent of one.
Other PSP titles like Gradius Collection might work for you as well.

Unfortunately SCEA/IREM dropped the ball and none of the R-Type games work.

Red Star looks like it's primarily a brawler, don't really like those...
Strikers and Gradius aren't on the EU PSN store.
I'll try the demo of Hamster.

Also recommend Neo Geo Ultimate Shooting, Cho Aniki Zero, Cho Aniki, Zanac x Zanac, Shienryu, Mobile Light Force and Capcom Classics Collection Reload.

Shienryu is the same as the PS2 game Steel Dragon EX (which also includes a polygonal remake), right? And from what I heard Cho Aniki may look strange but the gameplay is pretty meh,
Zanac and Mobile Light Force are apparently not on EU PSN.
Bought Neogeo and Capcom Classics, let's see.

Hold the PS button down. deselect the mobile network button.

I thought it was a given that anyone with a brain would know that only the supported games are working because of the missing touch inputs.

Apparently not if you see the "import impression" thread. Incredible how people cant understand the simple concept that there is an official compatible list of software for a reason.

Got Rainbow Moon!
Looking forward to playing some more of it on a portable after giving the PS3 trial a go and enjoying it.
So what the fuck-fuck. I thought you were supposed to get a hefty discount of Rainbow Moon if you had the PS3 version?
I thought there was and they screwed up or didn't give it to EU users but you do actually get one it's just done as it's own separate item in the PSN store. Just type in Rainbow moon and it should pop-up as one of the options (Rainbow Moon PS3™ Player Special Offer specifically)

If it doesn't pop up on the Vita or PS3 stores it should on the webstore.

EU PSN sure did put a lot of people including me in a non-festive mood, let's hope tomorrow's sale isn't bad. Expect to own it already but as long as it's good.

Had a quick search in here and for any threads and didn't notice this. Argos in the UK have got another Vita deal on again for a 3G Vita, a 4gb card, LittleBigPlannet and Tearaway for £139.99. Best of all it appears to be physical copies too.

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Searc...page:pseudolifestyle:slot12:promopsvitabundle

Reserved and picking up tomorrow. Thanks.

I have both of them but they are awesome games and I'll be able to co-op LBP. And another Vita + sealed copy of Tearaway? Sure :)

Sister is telling me it's a waste of money...which it is but hmm

£5.19 if you have the PS3 version according to the blog.

Oh, okay. Checked the Vita store and didn't see any discounts, just the 12,95€ price.

Got my PS vita today and I already love this device.
Before I started playing games, tried how the PS vita browser works. Is good, kinda slowish, but it doesn't crash like PSP browser every minute.
Also is great anime device lol. Screen size is so good for watching vids.
Gotta give 11/10 for PS vita.

Now I'm doubting myself. Great.

Anyone bought Spelunky while it's on sale? I played the demo but I'm still on the fence.

I did. I was waiting for a sale and I bought it as soon as I could. I really enjoy it so far, even though I suck at it. It's a great game and perfect for a handheld.

Set it up for another region. If your main Vita's PSN is EU, having a backup set up for NA or JP lets you grab locally unreleased stuff for a lot less than importing.

Stay true to your heart, Skyzard <3

It's a super solid game--I've watched a lot of really interesting Let's Plays of the PC and XBLA versions. I wanna buy it so bad, but the controls in the demo are practically impossible for me to get used to. Bleh!

What's wrong with them? They're incredibly tight as far as I can tell.

Don't know if is avaliable on the EU store, but Winds of Thunder is the best shmup on Vita.

Does anyone else have characters that are supposed to be locked in Spelunky?

Supposed to be locked? You mean, like from the start?
I'm pretty sure that's normal for the PS3/Vita version, unlike the PC/360 versions, I'd guess?

Quick search of Winds of Thunder on the NA SEN store yields nothing? What is this game and where can I find out more?

Not sure if you're just not liking holding the R shoulder button to run or what...
I've been playing a lot of Spelunky on both PC (with x360 controller currently, I need to see if DS4 will work with it using x360ce) and the worst part of adjustment for me between the two is that they put RB as the equivalent of the Vita's L. But that's only for exiting a level, so I'm not too bothered by it.

Red Star looks like it's primarily a brawler, don't really like those...

The reason I mentioned Red Star is cause the boss battles are sort of like shmup gameplay -- sorta bullet hell pattern dodging run and gun:

Although I suck at it terribly, it is easily one of my favorite games on the Vita. Easily.
The gameplay lends itself perfectly to a handheld, as it really is pick up and play.
And it is quite the challenge as well.
Fantastic, fantastic game.
I picked it up Day 1 and have no regrets at all doing so. On sale? That much better.
Absolutely recommend it. Like not even a question. Get it.

I've recommended this same action about 30 times in the past 2 days because of the EU sale.

SERIOUSLY.

IF YOU'VE GOT AN EU ACCOUNT, STOP ASKING IF SPELUNKY IS WORTH IT AND JUST BUY THE GAME WHILE IT'S 6 EUROS (OR WHATEVER).

Thanks for the Spelunky impressions, guys. I think I'll give it a shot. :D

Buy it so I can kick your ass in it!

This is more like it! :)

I got it on my JP account. It is a PC Engine game. I think is called Lords of Thunder in english. Kickass soundtrack, and plays like a dream on the vita.

That's cheating! Most of the posters in here tend to have EU or NA accounts as their primary. :P
Now I'm pissed off, I would've bought this in a heartbeat.

Got mine from the Amazon Black Friday deal, I am loving this device and wish I had bought it sooner, the only game I have played since getting it is Persona 4G, so I already a have a stack with backlog with Killzone and Lummines on top.

Any news on VitaTV? I really want that now.
