This is why Twitch is amazing and companies are stupid to be against streaming/let's plays.
I knew almost nothing about this game, went on Twitch, and five minutes later, bought.

From my understanding L and R are what is currently in your hand, and holding Shift+Wheel or 0-9 can put another item in your hand.
Example if I highlight the flashlight and L lights up blue, I can hold shift and either mouswheel or press 0-9 for items that can go into the other hand. If you notice double handed weapons like the broken sword light up both L/R dictating your hands are full. I thought they were quick items as well.

You can put items on L or R so left/right mouse uses those items when nothing else is selected.
Couple things so far.
-one crash at the logo. tried again, waited a bit, loaded.
-everytime you alt tab it removes fullscreen. you have to go back in the menus and set it.
-got my meat, cooked it. vanished, not on my hot bar, not in any of my menus or inv. No quest credit. not a big deal. Maybe because I placed my campfire right next to the barrel with fire.
Yup tis a beta. I don't care though, I signed up for it. I know what its going to be like and I'm okay with that. Just thought I would share.
One last thing. Anyone try the 2x zoom level? I honestly rather the zoomed out as far as possible look. buttttt. the game is clearly not optimized for it yet. Framerate is all over the place with that setting. Comp isn't "old" either. i5-750. amd 5980

Just a tip, F11 switches between fullscreen and windowed.
Also, incase anyone accidentally shuts off the hud like I did, it's tied to F1. F6 also apparently brings up the streaming options in game.

Awesome. Thank you! I think I remember people telling me alt+enter will fullscreen any program but it didn't seem to consistently work with this. That saves me time.

Click the icon on the right side of the screen, or press c, to bring up the basic crafting window.
Press E on a crafting table/furnace/etc for the advanced stuff/smelting.

Shift+click seems to work in a lot of places, not sure if that includes chest <-> inventory.

-Report any bugs and crashes you may have, this will help the dev fix them.
-Try and avoid posting things that may be too spoilery in the mean time,ie you played these next 12 hours consecutively and you found some really cool mid game thing. If you must post something, use the spoiler tags.
Remember that the game just came out and a lot of its enjoyment is exploration. It's just until everyone has had the chance to play the game and see stuff on their own. And that way people will know they wont get spoiled and keep coming to the thread to talk.

I want to deck my ship out and I want to spend a lot of time there. Sure the planets are the star of the game but I want to to struggle to survive in my ship. Run out of fuel in the middle of nowhere, have a leak etc etc. Gravity style.

How do I get plant fibre?
Old screenshot, human ships no longer look like this. but you'll get the general idea or possibility of how the ship expansion will look. It gets bigger as well I believe
As far as changing the look inside, not much is known, you can place just about anything inside. In fact a stream I seen last night the guy removed the stock lights inside and replaced them with tesla coils that have this cool electric look and sound effect.

I was exploring, night hit, i needed to go do something and was down on health so slept, came back in time to see my character dying in my bed, and died before i could fully wake up
Probably the hunger meter or you got too cold? not sure. Probably hunger.
ah perhaps... I didn't even realize there was a hunger meter until I finished the quest after I died lol.

Anyone else been stuck at the Chucklefish logo and got past somehow ?

Three launches later due to 3 crashes and i'm finally able to play the game.
Ugh...so beautiful. Now I can correlate the music with the game since it'll make me remember my voyage. Because space....the final frontier....these are the voy-...oh...wrong game.
