Thanks a million, I thought I was stuck on that planet forever.
Just warped to the second lvl1 planet in the system, found a tech blueprint on the surface and now have a speed dash unlocked.
I fucking LOVE this game. It's super addicting, the exploration is fun, mining isn't tedious [yet], the concept of just warping around finding outher planets is awesome. New gear, new outfits. Supercool stuff.

I can give you one of my many? haha I found a mining facility of some sort at a distant planet and was able to get like 3 normal flashlights, 1 green flashlight and 1 red flashlight.

where do you see your hunger level (outside of the game alerting you to it)?

Looks like planet coordinates are consistent between characters. Are they consistent among everyone who plays the game?

What does undy color do in character creation? Doesn't seem to do anything. Maybe only certain races or female characters?

You can eventually make pickaxes. Out of stone then copper and so on.
i still need to make one...
also is there any way to add friends to a list for easy invites? it's a pain to type out knob gobbler every time my friend crashes his game
also it seems the game crashes in general if you are playing MP and die

You only need to use the manipulator to cut down a tree and cut some cobblestone. Once the workbench is done you can use planks and cobblestone to make a pickaxe. That'll make mining quite faster.

Found the same thing like a minute of starting the game. Excellent weapon to mine dirt.
so i woke up from my sleep to find out the game has some kind of problem installing... ; ;
i get no progress at all when steam is "preparing starbound files for install..." and then i will get "an error occured while installing starbound (connection timed out)"
and it's not that i lost my internet connection too, my connection is fine

I think I randomly died to some sort of poisonous fog on the first night of this planet.

This game seems hard for the genre. Certainly harder than the initial start of Terraria.

I found a harmonica and it actually plays music! This game has so many neat stuff like that.

Yeah, my starting zone only has two planets, I decided to check out the second one which was level 10 (which is the highest T1 planet possible I think?), in hope of finding some nice goodies and some damned iron ore.
The creatures there kill me in one hit. I managed to grab some high-tech things, but I think most of them are decorations. The finger scanner I got can probably be wired to something but that's about it. Now I'm left scouring my starting planet for iron.

Actually, all I can do is place wood planks. How do I make walls and background walls like terraria? I cant seem to find it in the options to build.

Right click.
Try right clicking to affect the background in general. Works for digging out walls, placing walls too

with a pickaxe? dont have one yet, been using that weird looking horse shoe thing to break stuff down
Doors requires a block above and below.
To do walls right click..Thing is you have to pay attention you just can't place in the middle of an open area, well I wasn't able to. Make sure to have the material you want to use selected.
Also to hold shift to change from 4x4 to 1x1
