Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 3: Ridley's Believe It or Not!

You guys realize what every Smash character actually is right? Size isn't really an issue. If it was you would have to squint to even see Olimar.

I fear that if Ridley is included he will be too small. Overdoing the downsizing is the real problem.

I'm pretty sure most of the "Ridley is too big" comments are jokes by this point; I think anyone can see why that's just really silly to seriously argue.

It really is just jokes, and I wouldnt mind if ridley was playable, but sakurai himself said why he isnt playable and gave that reason and his word holds way more weight than anyone elses, so plain and simple, ridley is too big, that is, unless sakurai can find a way around that perceived limitation.

I thin Ridley could have a fine moveset. I'd imagine he'd operate similarly to Bowser, having very physical, body-oriented moves. I think the biggest challenge for Ridley is his hitboxing, honestly. He's for sure not humanoid by any stretch of the imagination, and kind of has a long, janky body. They'd have to figure out a neutral stance for him that is clear where he can be hit, and of course, make sure his range isn't completely bonkers.

Here's a special list I just came up with:
- Neutral B: Plasma breath: just like bowser's fire breath, but he flaps into the air first, so he can cover more ground.
- Up B: Dive bomb: he flys into the air and dives in the direction the player choses, bringing anyone he touches in the air with him. I'd imagine the flight path would be similar to meta knight's fly move, it would just come back down. Primarily used to grab a player and send them crashing into the ground, but also a recovery.
Side B: Tail whip: Chargeable tail attack that has less damage but higher knockback/stun. If fully charged, it whips side to side quickly.
Down B: Bite: Similar to Bowser's bite.

Pic of the day. The Villager's special attack, the Lloid Rocket, is a projectile weapon like no other--you can either launch it or ride on it. When you fire it off, keep pressing the button to hop aboard--you can even control its speed. It's more powerful when you're riding it.

Hey, cool. I like that.

Heh, I love Lloid. I hope he says something while flailing when you hit the opponent, his speech patterns are hilarious.

*VIllager knocks Mario off a cliff*

Lloid: "Ho there, my good fellow!"

I'll admit.. I stayed up to see if something would pop up. I think I jynxed it. Lol. Well, at least tomorrow I won't stay up. Then something would show up because i'm gone.

Why does this happen to me!

I was worried that's what his potential moveset would look like, but when you put it like that it sounds pretty sweet =) That Up B would be op if it picks up anyone, especially another Ridley haha

Villager keeps on surprising!

Yeah, the more I think about it the more OP that sounds...as it resembles Meta Knight too much, haha.

EDIT: Any excuse to post this picture again.

Welcome to GAF, oreomunsta! Specfically.. SmashGAF!! Where we talk about all sorts of things from Batman, Avatar Bets, Ridley's size, qq moe, and well... Just about everything.

The weekend are the best days ever, where we have nothing to talk about from lack of screenshots. Then heading into crazy town.

Oh, and don't let my horrible freakishly ugly bat avatar scare you away. :D

The daily pic was already posted a few posts up guys. Let me put up the pic in here so ya'll don't have to click on the link...

Thanks Troubled Bat! The qq moe days have been really funny from a lurker's pov, but I think I'll pass on the weekend SmashGAF since that's no Smash haha. Your bat is good way to lose a bet with style =D

I have the feeling that move will be useful for mind games depending on how fast it can be used. Considering you can either send it out by itself or ride it.

Neat screenshot, considering I was pondering Villager's moveset just earlier today.

So presumably Lloid is his side-special. So... Tree Plant confirmed for down-special? I really wish he'd elaborate on how that bizarre move works.
Or just release a demo so we can try it out ourselves.

I wonder if Villager can ride Lloid in the air? It could give him a killer horizontal recovery, possibly balanced by Lloid exploding upon being attacked or something and by similar things likely happening to Villager's up-special.

literally every lurker has teased me about the qq moe thing in the IRC chat at some point lol

And since it's specifies Lloid, Lloid is a Gyroid NPC who appears whenever you start building stuff in New Leaf. He's like the construction crew head. You give him donations for the buildings so that they will be build.

It also raises some questions in Animal Crossing-verse (are Gyroids sentient/sapient? How come we treat them as items? Is Lloid the only liberated Gyroid?)

Very interesting choice for an attack.

And that gets me wondering, is Villager's whole move set known at this point? I mean, other than his Final Smash.
