Well, to be honest, I'm sort of holding out for Ghirahim.
It reminds me of when that Kirby enemy punching dude or something was shown in the Dojo and some people thought it was a playable character.

I LOVE me some Majora's Mask (if you couldn't tell from my avatar) glad to see he got some recognition as an AT. Even as a huge fan, I'm in total agreement he wouldn't have worked as a fully playable character, this was honestly the best outcome I could've hoped for!

One thing to take out of this: Sakurai isn't going to try to be dishonest with Miiverse comments. He stated flat out that Skull Kid was an assist trophy - if, for instance, the Male Wii Fit Trainer had also been an assist trophy, it can be assumed Sakurai would have said that, too.
Also, when we inevitably get some kind of picture of Ridley we will immediately know if he is playable or not, haha.

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I'd LOVE to have Vaati as a playable character. My favorite Zelda villain needs to represent.
What stinks is if Square actually got a character in, that'd be the most likely choice.

What a great choice for a new Assist Trophy! I love it. My condolences to those out there wanting Skull Kid to be a playable character, though.
It's also nice that this 100% confirms the return of Assist Trophies.
