Huh. Not up on CR, but the simulcast is supposed to be up now. I mean it was there and now it's gone, like a couple of minutes before it was supposed to air.
I don't think I can watch the next episode as it airs. I'll watch the rest after the show is done. I felt like I was just burned after watching this last episode. It was just... UGH.
Calling Valvrave "stupid" or "crazy" at this point is like saying the sky is blue.
But I didn't think
ARUS killing the students
was really that surprising or nonsensical at all.
On the one hand, there's Moses being trigger-happy. On the other, their President knows about the Space Illuminati and hangs out with them.
In other words...the whole meeting was a pre-arranged trap between all parties involved, minus the poor victims. Reinforced by the fact the President goes "LOL, I don't negotiate with scum" near the end when they try to blow the spaceship up.
As for Shoko...that's more problematic because it's all rushed, but to be fair her mind/heart must be a mess.
And Haruto conveniently forgetting stuff doesn't help.
But the Blue Ranger saved the day, literally and figuratively speaking. I think that'll make her reconsider.
So yeah...crazy episode. Can't wait for the next.
L-Elf's back, even if it's in a hilariously ugly spacesuit.
Just started watching this. Even as the first episode ended I only had one thought going through my mind. "So about that giant gaping hole in the biodome that's creating a vacuum pulling out all oxygen among other things..."
Does the character writing ever get better? I'm currently at the point where Saki has decided to monologue her painful life and because of such she decides to hop into one of the machines and become famous....and OMG my eyes rolled. I think I have officially outgrown anime.

No. The characters are not to be taken seriously, and most of the side characters are dull at best. Which is fine when the show is working as a comedy, but it's why the show doesn't really work when it tries to be serious.
Still some really dumb stuff (Shoko & Haruto as usual) but damnnnnnnnnn they really went for it didn't they? Valvrave S2 might go down next to Code Geass S1 as one of the most entertaining anime of this era.
First I love H-neun and now Kyuma...if Q-vier or L-elf are next, Im gonna!.
. I thought the most intense part of the episode was the ongoing development with the valvrave pilots tying into the episode two weeks ago in which the memories and stuff was going away.
seeing it now with Haruto happening, I cant imagine just how much they will need to use the valvraves much in the future episodes and just how far he will go. He may end up losing just as much as L-elf and maybe both will go out together end of season in solitude after losing everything. Shoko abandoning even Haruto suggests this, and Miss Rukino is on now ones mind

You have pretty weird sense of comedy.. sure when I watch episode like this I'm giggling and in awe for what I saw, but I don't think I perceive it as comedy or humour.
Also, no way will there be a second season. At most there'll be a movie. If they make a second season then they'd be throwing away the meaning of everything that's happening to the pilots right now.
Unless Akira and Thunder are somehow immune to memory loss, there's no way. Their Valvraves don't have those AIs like Cain and Haruto do, but I don't think they run on bubblegum and cotton.

Very true, very true. But usually Valvrave has been "wow I can't believe they're doing this" funny stupid, like the song and dance back during episode 4 or 5 or so. This was just infuriating stupid because characters were acting either not like themselves or jumping the gun way too much.
I've said this before, but I believe it now more strongly than ever: The only thing keeping this show from being a full-fledged successor to Code Geass is the lack of fanservice.
That's actually one of the most interesting things about the show to me, considering the lack of restraint in every other conceivable respect. I wonder if there are a relatively high number of women on the production committee or something.
