Anyone got some good Soul Sacrifice tips? I'm trying to complete The Wicked Sorcer but I can't get past the Avaricious Slime. Am I
supposed to sacrifice Carnatux
?

Okay, is there any way for me to recover PSP save data if it says its corrupt after I've transferred it? I had it on a PSP, saved the folders to PC, used content manager to save it to the vita, and it always says its corrupt. I tried saving within the game at an early point and overwriting as some places suggested, and nothing. Any help would be appreciated...

First time poster here, but I have been reading the Vita GAF thread for about a year now. I purchased one because of this thread and everyone's enthusiasm for the device.

The Vita is my first portable gaming device that I've ever owned and I'm really enjoying it so far. For years I've always told myself that handheld gaming devices are pointless, that they offer substandard games on crappy hardware and tiny screens.

The Vita was the device I was waiting for. Don't ask why, but a decent screen resolution and DUAL analog inputs are so important to me. I've never once considered a 3DS due to the crappy resolution and only one circle pad. I refused to buy a PSP due to only one nub, a crappy nub at at that.

Anyway, now that I've got a Vita, I can see why people like them. There is something intimate about playing a game that is specifically designed to be played on a portable console. The screen is close to your face, thus blocking out a lot of distractions (for me at least) and it kind of creates this sense that it's just you and the game world; it really sucks you in.

I don't have a lot of money but here's my little Vita library so far... I purchased these games based on GAF's recommendation largely.

Those are the only physical games I have currently. Oddly enough, I have not played much of any of them yet, haha. The first thing I bought was P4G, but I've barely played it. I take a very, very long to complete games and I spent a heck of a lot of time on Gravity Rush (PS+, GAF's wisdom). I really, really loved that game.

On a technical level, it runs at sub-native res., much of the open world was very bland and had nothing to do in it, the combat could be insanely repetitive and frustrating, the story was pretty cliche, but gosh darn, GR has so much charm! I just love that gravity shifting mechanic and am very excited for the sequel.

I don't really listen to music very much, but the music in video games has always been a huge factor for me in enjoying the game, and I love GR's OST! The fun, charm and music just really came together for me. It also probably helps that it was the first portable game I've ever experienced.

I'm playing KZ:M right now, on mission 6 of the single player. I plan to finish up all of the SP contracts then try out the multiplayer. I just got access to secure N wifi about a week ago, and boy, it's so neat being able to access the internet, PSN, download patches without a CAT cable hooked up to something.

My old router had WPS that couldn't really be shut off, so, someone with Reaver could get in easy. As a result, I was never able to turn on the wifi. With my new router, and Tomato, I can shut WPS off for good, so now I can enjoy online functionality on my Vita. It's really great. For instance, today I downloaded a patch for KZ:M over wifi! Damn that was neat.

I think it's a shame that KZ:M is not given more credit for it's technical achievements. It's a very stunning game. Maybe someone could play some KZ:M online with me sometime? I'm not a good player but I'm good company! PSN ID is Marion_Walters43.

Once I finish up KZ:M I'm going to play Ys: Memories of Celceta. I've never played a Ys game before but I'm eager to try this one.

I plan to stick to mostly physical carts versus digital. Like I said, I've never owned a handheld gaming device before, and the last carts I ever used were on the SNES. For some reason, I freaking love these carts. I really enjoy owning the boxes, the carts, and most of all, that satisfying feeling of putting the carts into the Vita. Shame that manuals died out...

I'm disappointed though that the carts, as far as I am aware, are limited to 4gigs. I hope they up them to 8gigs in the future, I believe this will limit game quality. The 3ds has 8gigs one I believe, the Vita should too!

I do have a 32gb memory card, as well as an 8gb one that just sits around. I would import a 64gb one but I don't qualify for a credit card. The digital games that I've bought are Alundra, Ultimate Ghosts N' Goblins, Spelunky, Super Stardust Delta, FF6, Chrono Trigger (I can put up with the load times!), and Castlevania SOTN. Of course, all the PS+ stuff too.

I plan to get a physical copy of Tearaway once I've beaten some of these games. I hope Sony pushes for more games exclusive to the Vita. Not SCEA of course though, they suck. I called them up the other night to ask a question about the Vita and they told me they never heard of it! Kidding.

Anyway, sorry this post is so long, it's just that I finally got approval to post in this thread and I've wanted to just say a big thank you to everyone who posts in this thread for a long time. You guys and gals have made me really enjoy the Vita.

Thanks!

Received my Amazon Vita bundle today and purchased a 32gb from gamestop to go with it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get in on the half price deal earlier.

Saw a post about 64gb cards in r/vita and knew I had to upgrade. Roughly $50 more for double the space wasn't a hard choice at all. Now I have to return the 32gb and scum around with the 4gb until the new card arrives. Oh well, it'll be worth it I think =).

Beat Olmec on today's daily challenge in Spelunky. First time I've beaten the game on Vita surprisingly enough.

By the way does anybody know any way to defeat Olmec other than
bombing a hole through the floor and tricking him over into it?

In about a month from now I'll have two weeks vacation if it gets approved. That's when I'll finally dive into P4G. I've been putting it off for ages because it's a long game and I don't have that much time to play games right now. But no more!
Now it's time for some quick Hotline Miami. Gratuitous violence before work, awww yeah.

There have been so many new Vitabros with good taste lately. Welcome! :o

I've considered becoming one of them. That bundle on Amazon is tasty looking. I just don't know what games I want. I'm considering Killzone: Mercenaries, Muramasa, and Y's memories of celta.

It's funny cause a year ago I didn't think it really had games I'd ever want outside of Gravity Rush. Now there's quite a few that I think are worth giving a try.

It's also an interim buy cause I want to use it as a streaming device for the PS4. Hoping Vita streaming + Destiny and FF15 on PS4 = fucking right.

Okay, so I finally decided to try out PS4 remote play. Wow this feature is surreal. I tried it with res0gun when I first got my PS4 but the framerate took a nosedive and it kind of turned me off the feautre. Tried it today with Ghosts and I was just in awe (okay I was only a few feet from the console, but it was still cool).

I just wish I could customize remote play controls on the system level. CoD's control options are a bit uncomfortable, like using the touchscreen to crouch/go prone/slide :/.

Terraria release date confirmed. Dec 11 for EU, Dec 17 for NA.

Well, at least it's less than a week after EU for NA and not 6 months.
Still not buying, most likely. Too expensive, I'd wager.

Yes.
I can't do it, but no bombs required:

They would have had my purchase back in August or September. Now? NOPE. Doesn't help that the mobile version was announced much later and released like in September is $5 while we'll get a Vita tax that brings up the total $15

I'll buy it if it has cross-buy though.

Umm... wierd question, but did psn get hacked again? My account just got charged $50 and the money all went into fifa points.

Edit: I do not even own fifa.

Sony sent emails to some (all?) users to change their password recently, so yeah probably.

This is why I only use PSN cards.

HOT DAMN!!! I JUST FINISHED THE GAME ON THE DAILY CHALLENGE TOO! THANK YOU!

Is Terraria still cross-buy? I might just bite on the 3.74 sale price on the US Store atm if it is cross-buy.

STILL?

It never was, buddy. :\

Yeah I'ma wait on Terraria, maybe it'll go on sale during the next 'Buy for $50, get $10 back offer'.

Hope my 64 GB arrives in the next few days with no issues XO.

Don't sacrifice story relevant characters or else you'll break the storyline they're involved in until you revive them.

In general, slimes have no weaknesses, and are a bitch when close by, so ranged attacks are a must. The slime has a weak spot on that tongue thing the he swings at you and eats things with. It's the toughest weakspot, but if you get rid of it, it'll limit its attack range. If you see it in the red, use a blackrite and you should have it nearly down.

I'm only about a hour and a half into Rainbow Moon but I'm impressed at how fun a SRPG it is. The game feels absolutely perfect for a handheld too, especially with the ability to save anytime.

Well you weren't wrong really. Until PSP technology wasn't there to provide console class gameplay on handheld and while PSP could run almost PS2 class games it was held back by that one uncomfortable analog which made it mostly RPG machine.

Brah, I assume you are US PSN member right? You got Soul Reaver 1 off US PSN didn't you?

If not, download it to your PS3 then transfer it to your Vita, that's the only way to get it on your Vita.

I kind of regret not getting the soundtrack edition of Tearaway now. I couldn't find a (legal) way of obtaining it either. I hope they'll sell it separately at some point. Unless they do and my Google-fu just failed me.

Any chance of a new EDF game for the Vita next year?

ESRB, rated Dangan Ronpa, if any of your friends ask about this game, you can just quote ESRB:
This is a puzzle-adventure game in which players follow high-school students attempting to escape from a robot-bear captor.

I do not notice the slowdowns on the ice storms or zombie stages anymore.

Same (shrug). I'm very sensitive to slowdown and I get zero slowdown in yeti "wet fur" + snowstorm (which was a slideshow before). Don't know what might be going on here...

Get this fellow eu Vitabros! They patched in the missing levels so no more missing content holding it back. It runs great on Vita.

Oooh, tempting. I think I might bite on this indeed.

Well chuffed for that Legends deal. ^_^

I saw a recommendation for ultimate ghosts n goblins.

Definitely pick up Ultimate ghosts and goblins, It's a great game and it's such a shame that it's also become one of Capcoms many abandoned classic IP's.
Every time this is mentioned I die a little inside. :'(

Terraria release date confirmed. Dec 11 for EU, Dec 17 for NA.
Tempted to give this a try, even though my reaction to Minecraft is a complete WTF. No fucking idea what the appeal of that game is.

You build lots of shit, which gets blown up and if you are really unlucky you along with it. Then restart again and repeat the circle of life lol.

Seriously though its just a game thats amusing when you just want to harvest and build shit on your own either for relaxation or just like creating things.

Thats it.

Any chance of a new EDF game for the Vita next year?
It's possible we might see a port of EDF 2025 next year, in Japan at least. Sandlot is working on an EDF game for the PS4, but judging from the credits it looks like they outsourced the 2017 Vita port, so they could always do that again.

Well then. Went ahead and bought a couple of games as well as 3 months of PS+. My Vita is now chuck full of games.

Guacamelee and Wipeout are awesome. Lumines is lumines, which is great. Still need to check out Gravity Rush and Uncharted.
