The Idea of KI being at a future major is interesting because by that time (post March) the game would be completely different when Fulgore (and possibly Cinder/Combo/Riptor) releases if they're going for the "new character every two months" route.

If people are done with it by January, they'll be done with it even if it gets it's own SFxTK v.2013.
