i cant wait until they implement story stuff/quest stuff i need some motivation to explore, I want to discover planets in the midst of war or the beginning of it...tribes just starting out, NPC digging...just some things to give planets more life..because right now it's ultra static. Thanks, I used your tips with the Char Creator Beta Tool to add some of the Glitch options that aren't in yet. I also added the clothing options from the other races to the Glitch.

Now I have 20 different hair styles with 2 beaks and 3 beards included. I've edited some old ones to be more to my liking. I've added more info to the readme, so make sure to check it out before installing!

edit: Also I want to put up the kimono mod, but I'm waiting until the new update hits. Since that will be making changes to weapons and armor I don't want it to go out of date immediately.

My god bring on the weapon and armor mods! I have a feeling this will be the life blood of a game like this. And hopefully we can get enough content and make a Gaf Mod Pak.

Also I love listening to music played by the harp. By far my favorite. Something really soothing about hearing my favorite songs played on it.

I'm planning on making a special Crafting station for all my custom stuff, I think a GAF collaborative effort where all the mods can be made (with the creator's consent and recipes) from one special GAF themed bench would be pretty cool. I've been looking further into it and, creating your own ores/reasourses is possible in this game. Could make a GAF ore that you need to dig up to be able to make our stuff

You have to install them, it's a case of dragging and dropping into the appropriate folders. I plan to write a "How to" in a readme for the GAF crafting table

2)In case something goes HORRIBLY WRONG with the update, and the game becomes unplayable, you won't have the update installed, and actually still be able to play the game.

3)Server will update only if I actually turn the thing off and reboot it. In other words, its not gonna update until I get home. This is for when the updates make your client and the server incompatible. You can still SP, but some of you are relying on strictly MP, I think.

FRIENDLY REMINDER:

-There is a really high possibility of character and world wipes at any time! (We're in Beta Phase 1 of 3, still)
-This is a REAL BETA, shit will break and shit will break hard. So expect things to break at the least opportune moment.
-Report any bugs, crashes and suggestions you may have, this will help the dev improve the game.
-Try and avoid posting things that may be too spoilery (Including Screenshots) in the mean time. ie you played for many many hours consecutively and you found some really cool mid/late game thing. If you must post something, use the spoiler tags please.

Remember that the game just came out and a lot of its enjoyment is exploration. Give everyone a chance to play the game and see stuff on their own. This way, people will know they wont get spoiled and keep coming to the thread to talk.

i was pretty sure that when you turn off auto update, it just stops it from update in the background,and that when you try to play it forcs you to update. thats how it is with terraria.

the way i see it, only offline mode can save us

The possibility of character wipes for phase 1 of the beta test has been known for a long time. It's even in the OP.

Might as well wait for phase 2 or 3 to get back into it.

A character wipe in a game like this is worse than a character wipe in an MMO! And I don't really see why it needs to happen anyway. I'm just bummed out is all. Haha.

I would say arguably that this is better than Terraria. There's much more of a direction and focus in this game, whereas with Terraria you just got dumped in an area with no instructions and virtually nothing.

I'd say there's little arguable about it, but I don't want to offend the Terraria lovers. Exploration in this game is ridiculously expansive, and simply the amazing look and variety, I feel, is lightyears (heh) above.

Don't worry about it that much, there are countless planets with more NPCs on them. Most of the fun I have is going to planets, saying Hi to everyone and then wiping them out for Pixels!!! XD

Depends on how you want to play the game. If you want maximum comfy, make a big base on some nice planet. For utility, put crafting stuff in the spaceship and decorate it so it looks spiffy.

Don't forget to mark your homeplanet!

Been waiting for this patch to hit so I can buy the game.

Started my farm, it's pretty easy. But I'm surprised at a few of the crops taking forever to grow. Chili peppers take forever, I have yet to see them grow, carrots and potatoes take a really long ass time too. But Rice, Wheat and tomatoes are super fast as are a few of the alien crops. Bananas are relatively fast too.

Also nothing like taking a dump at the edge of space...
