It's simple. If the game has a Community, then chances are you can post a screenshot. A few games like Pokemon and MH3U have Communities, but the devs have disabled screenshots.
To post a screenshot, press the Home button at the moment you wish to capture the screen, go to Miiverse, click Post, and there will be a button in the top right corner that allows you to chose either the top or bottom screen.

Attention: 3DS screenshots on Miiverse that you view in the browser ARE actually in 3D.
More specifically, they conform to the .mpo format, which is basically just two .jpgs stored in one file. Your browser can't display 3D pictures, so it only shows you one of the two .jpgs.
But it is possible to extract them!
Cross-eye viewing means crossing your eyes until the pictures line up. Parallel viewing is what you do when you look at a Magic Eye picture, it's sort of unfocusing your eyes and looking "past" it. Some people can only see one or the other; I can only see it cross-eyed.
The difference is only a matter of how the pictures are oriented. If the 3D looks inverted, then you need to swap the left and right pictures.
Instructions for creating cross-eye/parallel 3D pictures:
- Save the screenshot from Miiverse as the instructions in the OP say.
- Change the file extension of the image from .jpg to .mpo. You don't need to resave the pic or anything, just change the extension.
- Download Stereo Photo Maker: http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/
- Open Stereo Photo Maker and click File -> "Open Stereo Image..." Choose your .mpo file. You should now be looking at two nearly identical images.
- Click File -> "Save Universal Freeview L-R-L." Make sure to crank the image quality slider all the way up! Choose where to save your picture. Upload to imgur and post at GAF!

This is interesting. Based on just trying a few things with 3DS pics in this thread, it seems like uploading to imgur converts the pic saved from Miiverse to a normal .jpg, meaning it strips out that second picture.
However, Abload maintains the entire file, so I was able to save this picture, change it to .mpo, and make it 3D:
Also, there appears to be a significant loss in image quality when saving directly out of Stereo Photo Maker unless you crank the image quality slider up before saving!

Confused how some of you are adding screenshots for 3DS games that don't have a community yet on Miiverse. I tried pausing out of SKB, going to Miiverse, but there doesn't seem to be an option to post, and if I go into a random Miiverse forum, there's no option to add a screenshot with the post.

Unfortunately only one of these screens was taken with the 3D slider on. I found two other 3D ones to post though:

Yeah, it does. Just about every dungeon floor has some kind of normal mapping going on with it, which looks quite nice in motion at 60 fps. The character models are a bit crap for the most part, but they definitely did a great job of making the environments pop.

I posted instructions above on this page. 3DS screenshots on Miiverse are in .mpo format, which means you can format them for cross-eye/parallel viewing.

Yeah, that's part of the reason why I took that screen, so that guys on Miiverse can see the depth. It took a while for it to happen, but Zelda is definitely the best 3D game on the 3DS since SM3DL.

Just getting used to using Miiverse for uploads. It's easy enough once you get the hang of it. Going to go back and play a bunch of old games for screenshots, hopefully they add more communities soon. Kid Icarus needs to be there as soon as possible.
