Ok so I am now a member of this forum. (Thanks mods!).
I currently have a haggard looking Wifi with a 3G model still in the box as a spare (or for CFW). Both with 16gb memory as a safety precaution for the huge Vita games. 64gb is still expensive in my country.

I currently have the following games:
Persona 4 Golden (The game that made me buy a Vita)
DOA+
VLR
UMvC3
DJMax TT
AssCred L
Disgaea 3

Don't worry, I won't spam the thread like my fellow countrymen (killatopak) here nor will I aim to become the top poster. Mark my word on that.

I will generally post the latest ps blog updates coming from the Asia (HK R3) region. I also have a R1 account for the sales and free games (PSN or PSM) which do not happen here in Asia.

If anyone wants to learn about Samurais vs. Dragons (English version available here in Asia) just ask me. I am a regular player of that game (To the point where my EU/US friends are bugging me to why am I always playing the same game, everyday LOL).

Welcome to (Vita)GAF! Enjoy your stay. It'll be interesting reading about the happenings on the Asian front.

So you're from PH? Cool.

I was also planning on buying a second PSV for PSP homebrew. I have a lot of UMD games that I would like to play especially those that aren't compatible with the Vita on the PS store.

Are you part of a local Vita group in our country? Would be nice if we can make an adhoc meet up.

Welcome to VitaGAF!

You're becoming infamous around here, killatopak. :P
I knew becoming the top poster would grant me fame/infamy. :P

Yeah from PH too. I am a member of TPC and Filipino Vita community on FB. Helps my wallet for finding a good game at a lower price and/or finding a Japanese physical game cartridge.

Latest happenings in Asia r3:
Winter holiday sale (30% off for regular, additional 20% for PS+ members) http://blog.asia.playstation.com/community/hk/en/playstation_network/playstation_store/blog/2013/12/04/festive-treats-from-ps-store-winter-holiday-offers-of-30-off
PSN about to be hammered next week for the launch of PS4 here.

New vita owner here, even newer gaf user, but I am having a blast with this thing.

I hope that the sales continue to include good vita titles, I picked up spelunky and its brutally fun. I pretty much bought it for dragons crown on the go and P4G, but some of the side stuff is blowing me away.

My main issue right now is that 8gbs just isnt enough. I have been deleting, uploading saves, re-downloading, its a mess. I missed out on gamestops deals for the cards as I was all spent from black friday, but is there a place where people generally purchase them for cheap? I will begrudgingly pay $60 but that's about it.

Which one? There's too many.

Oh I never knew Duke Nukem 3D for Vita was the thing.

Yup, there's also a thread about it here. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=732610&highlight=duke

Ebay and Newegg. You could also import 64GB cards but that seems over your budget.

With the 64GB out in Japan you might want to consider it. Some online shops sell it under 100$.

But for 60$ you might find a deal for a 32GB if you wait a bit, one will probably pop up.

Do yourselves a favor and buy Curse of the Great Curry God.

NOW.

Sorry I spent my 13th month on a 3G vita. so maybe next year?

Say VitaGAF, I want to ask: is there any game that you really regret spending money on?

Thomas Was Alone and DOA5+ are my answer.... Man, I really regret purchasing them.
Assassin's Creed and Ridge Racer for me. Looks ugly, plays like crap. Pop in everywhere. Ridge Racer made me so disappointed in the series that it became the only game I sold just to keep that game from me.

@Killatopak
This one->https://www.facebook.com/groups/355279167846251/. I am currently contacting a member who is selling a spare blucell analog cover grip there.

@UncleFahad
congrats fellow junior. I agree 8gb is not enough for the vita. I can handle 16gb since I'm also PSP Go and Xperia Play user.

Need For speed most wanted (edit)
The controls are really bad. I want to love it though.

Valhalla Knights 3.
It just feels extremely dry, And ridiculously grindy. I'm also not fond of the job card system.

How is DJMax TT? I've been planning on getting that game for some time now. Just not sure how good it is.

Is it the Vita or the game itself that inhibits the controls? I never had a problem with the vanilla MGS3 and I was planning to buy the HD edition.

Hmm, I think the Vita controls are fine. Maybe its because I was so used to MGS3 already. I don't struggle with them at all.

i don't think it's the vita, just the game in general

does PW control better? an does it have that stupid food eating thing?

I'd say it's very similar to Cytus Lambda so if you like that game then you'll also like DJ Max Technika Tune. If you haven't played Cytus Lambda yet then you should because it's free on PSM.
Anyone know if Ragnarok Odyssey Ace changes the drop rates up a bit?
It's ridiculous that I still don't have a Muramasa.
It has increased slightly.

Wait wait wait they announced the localization for the Vita version!
But I would prefer a physical cart.

Also want to pick up some games in Japanese.

Speaking of that, anyone have any game recommendations with "friendly" Japanese?

PW controls very well.

And no to the food question.

A land where top posters are born.

shhh....

Yeah, I kinda know it. Since many top posters in good old days of dota-allstar forum are also came from your country. Do you sit in front of computer all day or something?
that's me ironically, while still keep buying game D:

Dota is a way of life here. Basically any internet cafe worth their salt should have to install Warcraft 3 : Frozen Throne with DotA or DotA 2. It should come as no surprise that many of us have lots to talk about that game. I'm actually playing DotA right now. :D

I don't sit all day on my computer. xD

My campus has free wifi and there are loads of friends that could tether me their internet connection. Most of the time I'm at my University.

So I'm playing the Terraria trial, didn't jump right in since well, it is £12 and I only touched my PC copy but Vita seems like a good fit. Everything seems okay. After so long playing Spelunky the jump in Terraria is a bit on the crappy side but it doesn't really matter. Seems alright. But until I build a really awesome house, I think I'm happy with the trial for now. £8 would have been a no-brainer but £4 more just feels greedy. It's not much. And if I really like it then of course it's worth grabbing it now instead of waiting a year to save a burger's worth. But I dunno. What will you guys be doing?

well, further impressions - music is good, graphics are fine apart from a worryingly blurry logo on startup lol! Tutorial explains the controls well, and they seem pretty good with a dual way (flipped by a button) to control how the right stick aims - depending on whether you want accurate placement or quick reactions. I would have loved to control the the item selection with d-pad but apparently that is for shortcuts...haven't come across that yet. Wonder if it's customizable? Anyway screenshots two secs.

Btw if I wanted the chair to be placed facing the opposite direction, would that have been possible? Can I fix it? Just for future reference...and to fix my home :P Also to get rid of the block of wall wood on the top of the house? And if anyone knows how I make the tool I'm missing - second one in the items at the top left, like a pickaxe or something? Accidentally threw it away when I was exploring.

I'm waiting for Don't Starve.

PW has three different control schemes. The default (Shooter?) is the best and when played on a Vita with the second analog stick it works great. I never played the PSP version. They take some getting used to but in all fairness its much better than MGS3 because PW inherits the shooter-style MGS4 logic to the controls, if that makes sense.

And no there's no food eating/survival thing in PW. What it DOES have though is a super kick ass addicting base-building/recruiting/replayable sub-mission aspect to the game, which gives it loads of replayability and is generally more fun than MGS3. MGS3 is still the quintessential Metal Gear game though. Best of the series, imo.

Buying it day one, next week though (NA). Its Terraria on the Vita, a no brainer really. Price could be lower but whatever. How are the controls and menus, etc for the Vita? I read they tweaked and redesigned things for touch.

Oh boy... this could take awhile.

I don't know if I should be happy because more people will buy it, or sad because it's hitting bomba prices so sun. I hate our world and I hate SCEA for being a bunch of jerks when it comes to pushing Sony handhelds xD

(1) I hate "bomba". Lump that in with "meh". Use your words, people.
(2) $20-$25 is the market price for it in other regions (UK/EU), and it's the price the game SHOULD have launched in NA.
(3) For that price, everyone should buy it. $20 for the magical experience? Just hope the resale/trade in value doesn't bomb (see what I did there?) before you finish it if you don't plan on keeping it. :)

Everyone should buy it. No excuse.

I agree.

Blog.eu.playstation.com
Confirms Terraria for Vita is releasing today.
No mention of crossbuy =/

Flightmare posted a link to the EU blog over a week ago where they flat out said NO CROSS-BUY. Then we spent a silly number of posts repeating it to people in here.

They've already confirmed no cross-buy

And here we go again... ;)

Dont change what? I really dont know.. If its a inside joke im sorry im not vita bro regular :/

This thread is a giant broken record. There's just a constant repetition of some questions, three of the most popular subjects lately:
(1) I just got a Vita, what games are must haves?
(2) Why isn't <x> free on plus yet?
(3) Terraria cross-buy.

Today's sale is...

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/12/11/the-12-deals-of-christmas-deal-6/
Great game, but it was free earlier this year :/

I guess people could buy the PS3 version if it's included in the sale.
But no cross-save or cross-buy on that one.
I wonder if they fixed the infuriating bomb clipping bugs...

I'd be more likely to pick it up on Steam if I ever decided to pay money for it.

No PS+ discount for Doki Doki Universe? I hate it that they don't sort after release date under the recent tab in the store anymore. Nearly missed the game because of that.

I got an email about Doki Doki -- couldn't understand what the hell it was, but it was kind of interesting. Then I saw it said it was a PS3 game and I ignored it.

Is it NOT a PS3 game? It's playable on Vita?

$22 in Australia for Terreria? What a joke

Yes, you guys get price gouged for some reason. :(
But Terraria has become a definite joke -- a "what not to do with a Vita indie" example.
Hopefully Runner 2 isn't as stupid about all of this when it finally releases.

Vita kittens please go(or just open PS store) and buy Ys: Memories of Celceta.

it's so good.

I can't vouch for the goodness as I haven't actually played it. But yes. Buy the game, people. I know there's no discount for digital if you go that way (I did, of course), but the game looks to be high quality and exclusive and deserves our support.

Dragon's Crown. I knew the art was ugly I didn't realize the combat and loot were so shallow and boring.
Spelunky - just not fun for me.

Yeah, we don't agree much, do we? :lol
For me it seems you live in opposite world. :P

This is sad. I'm sad. I think the art is great. It's mechanics were also great for what genre it is. I don't think similar games is for you.

Amen.

Just picked up Velocity Ultra and Wipeout 2048 (probably should of waited for a sale of this)! In other news my Dragon's Crown order should be here today, yay! :D

WipEout 2048 is free for PS+ in NA still. Is that not the case in EU?
Or are you a heathen who hasn't bought PS+ yet?

MGS3HD - can not get the controls down... wish i had picked Peace Walker instead

Muramasa/DC - why did i buy both?? great graphics but really boring level design and gameplay

I dunno about MGS3HD... haven't gotten around to it on Vita yet, but if my PS2 experience with the game is an indicator, I won't like it very much. Now you have me wondering about the controls, since I thought most impressions I saw said they were translated to Vita well.

At least you appreciate the art in the Vanillaware games. :P

There's a difference between a lot of grinding and WAY TOO MUCH grinding. I've played quite a few MMOs and hunting games, and none of them have drop rates as low as those in RO.

Usually 1 PS+ game is added to the IGC per week. The first two weeks are PS3 games, and the second two are Vita games.

Are the drop rates in RO worse than Demon's Souls?
I spent like 6-10 hours farming skeletons to get 1 drop of Pure Bladestone for that accursed platinum.

Now that I see you're responding to Killatopak here about PS+, let me yell at him...

Thanks for info on PS+.

C'mon, buddy -- did you forget all the posts I've made on the subject of PS+ for the constant stream of questions. I'm pretty sure you even quoted some of them when I used ALL CAPS. :P

---

Regretted purchases...
Pure Chess -- people in here seemed to play it, but I never got a full game in with anyone.
Hot Shots Golf -- people's hype got to me. I occasionally try to play it but find it unbelievably frustrating.
Malicious Rebirth -- I had fun with it, but the framerate is NOT good.
Men's Room Mayhem -- this game becomes a frustrating mess if you're trying to go for the trophies. I'm not sure if it's fun or not if you don't care about them, but some of the "challenges" to get the last trophy done are INFURIATING.
StarDrone Extreme -- it just isn't fun, even for the $2 or less I paid for it
Sunflowers -- It really feels like an iOS type game and I get bored quickly.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite -- thought I would like it as I got the impression it played sort of like Demon's/Dark Souls from watching gameplay... it does not.

Say VitaGAF, I want to ask: is there any game that you really regret spending money on?

Thomas Was Alone and DOA5+ are my answer.... Man, I really regret purchasing them.

Almost bought Knytt Underground before it was a PS+ freebie. So glad I didn't waste my money on that boring game.

I'm waiting for Don't Starve.
That looks awesome! Adding to my list.

Buying it day one, next week though (NA). Its Terraria on the Vita, a no brainer really. Price could be lower but whatever. How are the controls and menus, etc for the Vita? I read they tweaked and redesigned things for touch.
Fair enough, I'm leaning towards picking it up, I like how it controls - it doesn't rely too heavily on touch, just for selecting items at the top and for switching buttons for how the right stick controls - I edited my post with info and screenshots too.

What 3D Platformers weren't made with a young audience in mind?

Only ones that sort of fit that is Mirrors Edge and Psychonauts that I can think of.

What did you have trouble with? The controls are fairly standard for NFS games. They were the least of my problems when it comes to Most Wanted on the Vita.
The controls felt stiff. I realized later that there's different cars around with better handling but even with two upgrades it just felt like hitting corners didn't work out for me and the cars are EXTREMELY fragile. Tap a wall slightly and super long dramatic crash scene.

I checked out some reviews before purchasing and assumed those people were just bad but after trying it myself.... For like 4 hours straight. I uninstalled it.

You liked it?

I am liking Terraria on Vita thus far, takes a while to get used to, being able to switch the cursor from smart to manual is a nice touch.

I see them now, looks good, thanks. Kind of disappointing to hear they didn't allow for touch-aiming (unless I misunderstand what you're saying) but maybe that sounds better in my head than in practice. I just remember that the right-stick controls on the 360 version were less than ideal when compared to a mouse. Still buying it though, really excited for the 17th.
