I need more explanations. How does this work now?

If you view the library, it shows tiles of your games. And then '1 Add-on' or however many you have if you have them. It just works properly now.

Before, it wouldn't display all the add-ons that I have for Sound Shapes (7) and Escape Plan (3). It didn't show any for them. Now it does.

I downloaded the IGN app on PS4....

and was greeted with a video saying the XBOX ONE has sold 2 million units..... and then scrolled down and saw a video about XBOX ONE exclusive content for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.

There are also videos right at the top for Steam, and Nintendo's Smash Bros.



Anyone else think this is stupid? Does Sony not check on this stuff, or do they not even care?

Seems like this app is promoting PS4's competition to their own user base. I don't recall ever seeing PS3 news on the IGN app on 360

What?! Shouldn't it automatically load into the PS4 section as default.. so silly. Of course... I'm assuming the 360 app does this.

Music Unlimited boots in 8 seconds instead of 15 seconds. I'm testing right now to see if it'll play through an entire album without stopping. And it's in general tons more responsive.
Fake Edit : NOooOooOooo... It made it five songs. But they all played smoothly. Damn.

Previewing screenshot captures doesn't crash the system after viewing a lot in succession. I'm guessing it was a memory leak and now it's fixed.

Friends list doesn't have to refresh after first start. Much better friends list.

Music Unlimited stability is seemingly completely dependent on whether or not it's peak hours. I just streamed a 2.5 hour album.

Never? What do you want me to do? Look at it? I've stuck my finger on that on/off button for a good 30 seconds before unplugging it the first time. I know its a last resort thing to do. lol

Huh that's weird, Sony is wrong then because that's exactly where I got this info from lol. I've never had holding the button down not work before. In that case yeah it would be the only thing, just making sure people know this. A LOT don't.

Why would it brick? Serious questions. I hope these consoles aren't prone to bricking like last gen consoles.

I don't know exactly why it can, I just know that doing that with any type of hardware is bad. My friend bricked his console once doing it and Sony called it hard crashing or something like that.

You're absolutely right. They also shouldn't allow you to visit N4G, Reddit, or NeoGAF thorough the PS4 Web Browser. Who knows what kind of Xbox Propaganda could be out there ?! You have to protect your userbase from any potentially harmful information after all.

I know a lot of people who own consoles and don't even go to the major sites like IGN or GameSpot and are seemingly clueless about most things related to gaming. Even when I was in the line at the PS4 launch there were a couple people there who were like "what kind of game is Killzone?".

You are out of touch with reality if you think every person who owns a console is 100% up to date with gaming news.

On a web browser you need to know a specific URL and go looking for info yourself.
On the PS4 IGN app you're presented with Xbox Exclusive Content videos right on the front page.

Pretty silly of you to even try comparing the two.

What's wrong with it? Been using it for almost a month with 0 problem.

Have watched over 20 films and a few TV series discs.

It has problems playing some blu ray movies. It seems random by each PS4; if you google you'll find many people with problems. I had to unplug my PS4 several times to get it to finally play Pacific Rim.

I know it sounds weird, but you should have tried it again. The same thing happened to me while installing Warframe (seemed to happen to a lot of people). I was tempted to pull the plug because I stood there holding the power "button" for ages with nothing happening. People on a forum said don't unplug it though, and it will eventually turn off. So I tried it once again, and this time the thing actually shut down after about 10 seconds of holding the button. It's strange, but it might actually take multiple attempts.

I'm sure he tried it more than once, like any sensible person.

It's the only movie I've had a problem with so far, but I've only watched a few on my PS4 as of yet. At first the movie played fine, but about 5 minutes in it started skipping, and then would just stop. It did this several times. I put it in the PS3 and it played fine. I then rebooted my PS4 twice. It skipped at first, and then skipped one more time, but I was able to watch the movie.

Some of my friends didn't even know you could push the buttons on/off to force the console to shut off so it is nonetheless good advice to give. My console the first and second time was really messed up tho, and I couldnt bring it to shut off even while holding down the button. Last few times I could do it tho.

By the way, I'd also like to advise to people NOT to press the share button while on Warframe, that's how the whole thing started with me when I accidently pushed it down.

PS Store not working for anyone else? I just get a blue screen, nothing happens. Can still go back to the home screen. Don't know if this has anything to do with the update though.

New update on my PS4 for those who followed through since yesterday.


My PS4 is certainly not like new anymore. Today my PS4 crashed at the PS logo after making me wait for what seemed like about 5 minutes. It then also took up to 5 minutes to straight up start the system from the shut down state. Then took about 5 times the usual time it takes for a good and working PS4 to shut off. Afterwards I tested the standy mode, when usually the light almost instantly turns orange, this time it took several minutes for it to change color.

Sony sent me a empty box that will take up to 3 to 5 buisiness days to arrive, and I'll ship it the moment it arrives too. Ridiculous how a machine I took very good care of, simply decided one day to mess up my day(s) and that I have to get it fix not even a month after I bought it. (612$ it cost me with games)

I changed for a PS3 the moment my XBOX360 got the RROD twice last generation, hope it doesn't come to this, this time.

Was playing KZ:SF multiplayer last night following the update. Pressed the Home button and it took a good 30 seconds to load the home screen. Initially thought the console had frozen, though I could hear the home screen music with the game screen still showing.

I hope that was a one-off occurrence and not a sign of things to come.

Yup, I also get intermittent sound cut-outs but nothing too drastic so far.

I'm still trying to fix it, seeing what's wrong with it, doing tons of research on google to see if I'm not the only one with the start up and shut down of the system being so slow and I get nothing. What's even more ridiculous is that the console ain't even stable with the problem! xD So one time it can boot just fine, and the other, my console is making this noise that you know means he's working hard to boot up and takes 3 to 5 times the usual time. Same thing when I shut it down.

I wish I could find the problem and a way to fix or even prevent it, that way I could help whoever has the same problem later on. I still havn't tried the Initialisation that takes a couple hour to be done tho, I only did the quick one. I'll be having the time today to do it and be there to see the progression of it. I'll update in the evening.

Naturally I'm freaking out so I choose the update option from safe mode and it updated the 1.52 update again?

Yup.

It's actually possible my PS4 was just a POS... no way to know for sure. The thing is, I don't know if my PS4 was causing issues to begin with, or if the corrupted firmware DL (due to a problem with the modem) fucked up my PS4.

I have had some weird issues with updates on PS3, but the USB thing usually resolved them. Then again, I have a new ISP and a different modem, and I don't think I've had to do firmware since switching.

lol... too confusing and pretty hard to troubleshoot.

After having my PS4 freeze on me for the 5th time or so, it again made the error of me having to download and install the 1.52 patch. After doing the initalization on safe mode once again, the same error popped on my screen once more.

By the time, my return box that Sony had sent me arrived. Filled in the form and sent it back. Now waiting for what's supposed to be a new console. Which I bet with my bad luck, will be a refurbished one.
