but is debian based. It's probably one apt-get away from having amd support. Another thing is official support, but it should not be an issue.

How many games will work? Is there a list? More than likely have to be Steam workshop, correct?

Processor: Intel or AMD 64-bit capable processor
Memory: 4GB or more RAM
Hard Drive: 500GB or larger disk
Video Card: NVIDIA graphics card
(AMD and Intel graphics support coming soon!)
Additional: UEFI boot support
USB port for installation

I was maybe going to try it out from a spare HDD. But no AMD GPU support? Is this real life?
There is no dual boot support in this release. Look up a couple posts. This is a legit beta for those who are willing to dig through Linux and have Nvidia cards.

Why would we need to use a USB flash drive? Is there no support for using a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM?
Your expectations are way out of line. This is not a roll-out at all. It's for people who know what they are doing with Linux. Nothing more. Valve was very up front about this not being anywhere close to primetime.
