Sure thing. We can both ignore that there is a much more important character to the Metroid mythos, as well as being more visually distinct, and trumpet a lazy reskin instead.

Dark Samus would have more of a chance if she was named Coleen if this game was being published by Sony.

wut, it's the other way around. People harp much on Fusion despite being good.

Also I'd argue the boss fight is like that because, well, you've "exceeded" SA-X.
 
Fusion is the awesome version of Other: M. It's sweet!

I still think it's a good game, it's just not what I want from Metroid. If any good Metroid game gets undue hate, it's Metroid 2.

Ridley's my first choice, Dark Samus is backup. Mother Brain would be numero tres, but nobody seems to think she would work besides me.

(It's not like giant characters haven't been done in previous fighting games)
 
Fuck it, I'm voting for Mother Brain. She's way more important than Ridley in the games they both appear in and I want to play as a giant brain cyborg that fires lasers instead of an inevitable Charizard clone.
 
Actually, Other M is the mediocre version of Fusion.

This. Remember the small outrage at "Evil Cole" in Playstation All-Stars? Dark Samus will be a bigger one, especially from those who want Ridley in Smash.
 
btw is it me or has new information been revealing more frequently lately?

im kind of surprised a lot of people said "ITS NOTHING" on the majority of the snapshots this week.
 
Q2 seems likely.

Recent NPD shows us that Wii U is in dire trouble. They need Smash and Mario Kart ASAP before they have any hope of reviving the system.
 
I do think Q2 is possible (but not likely) but I don't really think they'll rush this game out of the door. It would not help the Wii U's situation at all if it ends up being a rushed product.

Rushed Mario Kart 7 was part of the turnaround for the 3DS. A release of DKCR:TF, Mario kart 8, and Smash 4 would help the wiiu the way mario kart 7, super mario 3d land, and monster hunter 3u (japan) gave second life to the 3ds

Rundas is the true deserving rep from the Metroid franchise despite only appearing for a limited time in a single game.

Anthony Higgs would be pretty cool. The highlight of Other M imo

The only thing I liked from that ball of lies via GFAQS nonsense was Mewtwo's return. That would be awesome.

And as far as Metroid reps, Ridley would be best. Treat it like Fake Kraid, purposely smaller in size with the same abilities and run with it.

That's what made me think that the Nintendo of Germany slip up of Q2 2014 wasn't a mistake. I was thinking that Sakurai realised that we were 4-6 months away from release and thought "Shit, there's a lot left to show." and revealed a lot of little details via screens.

Now if we could get a character (whether veteran or newcomer (LITTLE MAC)) soon...

The whole Namco thing and the fact we've been getting more frequent updates is actually why I think it's possible for Q2. But I still feel holidays is far more likely, but we'll see!

This is what annoys me. The games wouldnt have been rushed if Nintendo actually knew what they were doing.
"We have underestimated the scale of this change and as a result, the overall software development took more time than originally anticipated"
What the heck were they doing in the last years of the Wii with that huge wii revenue? absolutely nothing it seems. Ubisoft could probably pop out 3 Assassins Creeds across 3 different platforms in the time it takes Nintendo to make 1 game for 1 console. (slight exaggeration)

Outrage at Ridley not being in Smash is a constant for the Smash Bros fandom. He will always be too big of a star for Smash.

Anyway, if you're still queasy about Dark Samus, we could just use Metroid Prime's final form instead. Same character and presumably same abilities, but isn't named Dark Samus and doesn't look like Samus. Plus, I rather like the idea of fighting as a giant head with trailing tentacles.

I think Metroid Prime's final form would work more as a boss than a playable character, but that's just me.

Anyways, Dark Samus wouldn't cause outrage at all and is not the equivalent of Cole and Evil Cole. It would be the equivalent of Toon Link and Link or Ganondorf and Captain Falcon.

Q2 release date is possible tho, I think Nintendo of German's slip up isn't mistake, I guess it was covered up so they want to give it a proper announcement.

I do get that feeling that we are getting a lot of information lately, so it's possible that it could coming out. Dojo were created like 7 months before supposedly release date, which is Dec 3rd. I guess we could estimate that we might have like 6-8 months to go. I'm looking forward to see what Sakurai had for us this week. I'm excited to go through low and high, sane and crazy, batty hype train through with everyone here.

Sora's only other employee is Sakurai's wife lol.

BTW Heath, September 21/23 makes no sense because that's on a Sunday and Tuesday respectively. Nintendo releases their games on Fridays now, not Sunday. And they never release games on Tuesday.

I would be shaking my head at a Dark Samus inclusion. Dark Samus isn't even all that interesting of a character in the game she/it's in, Ganondorf is the main villain of the series and further more I don't think he should have been a clone of C Falcon to begin with.

I don't know about "outrage" but I can't imagine many people being hyped for dark blue version of Samus.

Well, they used to release games on Sunday and Tuesday for American. Let me paraphrase my quote. The release date that are close to Sept 23, since it's perfect date for 125th anniversary.
