They're putting a demo on the US store for the DBZ game. Good sign hopefully.
Very nice. I was kind of interested in this game because of the 4 vs 4 in it. Is it cross-play? Cross-buy?
Already knew this since last year.Don't be put off by the other threads too much guys, Vita is the absolute best.

Btw any farming simulator fans in here that will admit to it? Relaxing? Get what you wanted out of it?
I'd like a harvest moon on the vita. That'll be awesome. Not sure if it's a farming simulator but I am addicted to Rune Factory and Harvest Moon.
hopefully it's a good game... though the only way i will be buying it on the vita would be if namco said "if we sell x copies of the dbz game we will bring over the new sword art online vita game" (i might end up buying it on the ps3 sometime if it's a good game though)They're putting a demo on the US store for the DBZ game. That's fine for you, but I'd love to play it again on Vita.Coming from one of the hugest To the Moon fans out there (I even registered for their official forums to talk about the game), I don't understand this. What would you do with such a port? I mean, I played the game twice (once by myself, once with my girlfriend), but after that? You replay it over and over?
I mean, I would pay good money for Vita ports of games with lots of replay value (FTL, Spelunky, Dustforce, Don't Starve, that kind of things) but much as I love To the Moon, the PC version has serviced me more than enough.
A looooong time ago I tweeted Shahid about it and he said he talked to them about it. That's all that I got and all that was.Yes! I've never played it, but I really want to, so I've just been holding out hope that they bring it over to the Vita eventually. Though I Googled it once, and I think the devs said they didn't have the resources to port it over.

Still making my way through soul sacrifice. What a fantastic game to just break out and play a couple of rounds. Love the lore and the universe and the silky controls. I like it way more than mh3p and god eater.
They're putting DBZ demo on Vita? I am suprised.
The Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z demo will include the first 4 missions from the final game’s single player campaign as well as online normal battle with the option for 8 player co-op or a battle mode with 2 players in teams of 4. Data and trophies will be transferable from the demo to the full game.
Not sure if it's a farming simulator but I am addicted to Rune Factory and Harvest Moon. Definitely relaxing the first time I have played one. I never expected it to be quite addicting. I'm in love with the genre now.

I bought it for the trophies but I really ended up enjoying it. Light on content for sure, but it was quite relaxing to play in little bursts. Still need to grind for the plat tho lol.
Haven't seen it but what are the chances they'd make that sort of promiseLooking forward to hearing impressions and seeing vids of the demo hopefully. I think there is a PS3 demo coming too on tuesday as well.
.
Hashimoto-san mentions players can play the game on PS Vita, and then carry over their save to the PS3 and resume playing on a bigger screen. While it wasnt specifically mentioned, we assume players will need to have both PS Vita and PS3 versions of the game.
First two weeks - PS3
Last two weeks - Vita
It's like this every single month.
Seems you are right - not really cross-play:
Organizing my bubbles. There are way too many useless icons. I can't even fit all of the default Vita ones in one bubble.
Does sound tempting...only short bursts? Can't zone out to it? Could you elaborate what you mean by the content btw - not too expensive here but not quite instant buy...
PSP is not dead. A tease for Gaijinwork's next title will be featured in the premiere issue of Retro magazine, due out sometime late this month/early next month. While they're doing Class of Heroes 3 for PSP, this tease won't be for that game.
Any clue what that game could be?

So do we expect the 64 gig memory card once Vita TV is released in the west or before?
Je ne parle pas francais. This is certainly a blow to indies on PlayStation platforms.
I doubt vita tv will release in the west actually. 64gb memory seems like a surer bet.
Je ne parle francais.
The only thing I get from that is sony isn't paying for unity licences?
Where'd you hear that? Apart from Victor teasing it repeatedly.
So… you worked on Fate/Extra and I heard that Fate/Extra CCC was being shopped around to publishers… can you say if Aksys is working on this at all?
Hmm… I heard about the game and it was released in Japan. Fate/Extra is a great game and I highly recommend everybody pick it up, but don’t start with Caster unless you like frustration for the first hour of the game. And my answer is: yes, I like curry very much.

It has to. At least in order for Apple tv and other roku like devices to have a competent competition.
This is certainly a blow to indies on PlayStation platforms.
Oh, and since you're here:
My French isn't great, but from what I can make out it seems that the article is saying that Sony requires different Unity development licenses for Vita, PS3, and PS4? As in, if you want to develop for PS4 and PS Vita for example, then you have to pay for separate licenses for both platforms, rather than pay a single fee that lets you develop on all of them as you want?
Yeah. That doesn't seem real cool.
That's vile.
I was actually wondering the same thing, but then I read the posts earlier that said that Nintendo and Microsoft apparently already include those costs in their fees? Maybe Sony's development fees are cheaper than their competitors but they have to "pass along" certain licensing fees (such as Unity licenses) by doing things like having separate licenses for Vita, PS3, and PS4? I'm just asking questions - I don't know myself.Wouldn't that requirement be coming from Unity and not Sony?
Somehow, I think you're right. Let's be optimistic though. The Vita support in west needs all the help it can get. Also, it's not like roku type devices are popular in Japan.I somehow don't think Sony feels the same. Its reception in japan was also tepid. I think japan is the testing ground for the device, and it failed.

He doesn't deserve his cute avatar. A skull is more befitting. As much as I enjoy seeing Takao's posts I'm really starting to think that he would benefit from a more fitting avatar. May I suggest one showing the grim reaper going after a Vita?

Why not? These types of things are all over in the west. Sure that means more competition, but PS Vita TV has a lot going for it that the others never will.I somehow don't think Sony feels the same. Well, CCC is a PSP game, unless by some miracle it gets a Vita port... I'm worried that CCC's ship has long since sailed.
Fate/Extra did sell pretty well though, or so I heard.

Plus, PS4 remote play doesn't exist for it in Japan... for obvious reasons. So part of it's purpose is simply no there.
Rebrand it PlayStation TV. Advertise that it plays PSone, PSP, select Vita games. Advertise it's PS4 streaming, and advertise the apps (Netflix, etc).
This speculation is closest to the mark, but it will be a bit more, just not Suikoden or VC3 (though we're still pushing to try to make something happen with both of those). One of them will have first-of-its-kind-in-the-wild tech for PSP/Vita to my knowledge. Ken's been working overtime to do something really cool that wasn't in the Japanese release. As with many things I did at WD, when other RPG companies see this, it will be copied. I guarantee it.
Hey guys, what did firmware 3.01 do? Does it fix anything?

famousmortimer said on the NDP thread that Sony is looking for a way to bring Vita TV overseas, so I think it is pretty much a given it is coming.
Also, considering the tremendously positive reception of the PS4 in the west, I'd be surprised if Sony didn't push the Vita TV here at least as an accessory for it.
Takao, doesn't this deserve its own thread?
Vita bros help a fellow bro out, is there anyway to get music unlimited to run in the background while playing games? It seems like its possible considering it does it for about half a second before pausing. D:

They added streaming to it awhile ago in an update.I believe you need to make an offline playlist. Not sure how to do that, unfortunately.
Ignoring that it plays games and streams PS4.Bringing Vita TV over will only bring focus to how poor Vita's app selection is in North America. It's not in a position to battle Chromecast, and Roku.
