It bums me out that some people didn't get to enjoy Kid Icarus Uprising as much as others.
Like, I can't refute their claims about the controls because... I mean, that can't be helped! It just wasn't comfortable for them and that's that! And the game is still at fault in that regard for having a polarizing control system that isn't friendly to all users (I know there are alternate control methods but let's not pretend they're as effective as the default).
I'll just say that I consider myself lucky to have it click with me (perhaps due to experience with Metroid Prime Hunters?) because I found it really intuitive and functional. The touch screen control isn't really intended to emulate a second stick at all, and is really a trackball in function. With practice you can turn with a greater range of speed and stop with far more precision than you ever could with a stick. To emulate that with a pointer, even, would require some fucking wizardry with the bounding boxes. But, I mean, if they make a version with those controls and it lets more people enjoy it, all the better, I suppose.
But yeah I'm certainly not trying to convince people that they're wrong about their opinion on the game. That is their experience with the game, and this is mine. Neither is more valid!
... I just felt like chiming in because I think it's a stunning game and I was getting sad about the comments
