Giving some hints ie. what was used is always nice if someone wants them but I don't think people need complete lists of mod stacks, that's true. These things are also pretty easy to learn and set up after all and most of the work is already done. Getting those cool looking pics framed is the hard part. Keep 'em coming

Sir. yes sir !

One of the best stealth FPS ever made, so many good memories! For the times it was released it had a great IA, a smart level design, a profusion of great humour with brilliant dialogues and a nice storyline. Always hoping in a third episode.

I don't know man, lets look at the Topaz thread again and see how you feel about it =p

Pretty much this.

If someone makes a unique tool to capture art, then for the time being, I can see them wanting to explore said tool to its extent before making the tool public. There's a two way feeling of pride, and jealousy when someone uses something you make to out class you, and there's a sense of anger when they use it to make garbage.

Kind of like the quote, "When everyone's super, no one is." (Incredibles)

If I find an awesome way to do something, I'll personally share it, but not before getting my few unique shots in before someone else does it and it's no longer significant to me.

It's natural human behavior to assume that someone who has something you don't is only doing it out of selfishness, but it's simply not true. Right now, I can immediately tell you which screenshots are Unreals, or Confidence Man, or even Stallion Free to an extent. It's the set up, and the tools, and the style that makes people unique, and otherwise you are less distinguishable. That's reason enough for me to keep an edge over others if I have one.

Anyways, here's more of my stuff.

This is the reason I've always shared the camera tools I create in Cheat Engine. I WANT to see what other people can do with it because I know there are folks out there more creative than I am and could come up with better stuff.

I like knowing that all the DMC and Enslaved shots on the top of this page are possible because I decided not to hoard the camera hacks for myself. Also because I know he can do a lot better stuff with them than I ever could.

That's why you're my hero. Respect.

Great post! I wish NOLF 1 & 2 would get re-released on gog or steam. Lost my original copy of the first game and never bought the 2nd even though I absolutly loved NOLF.
Think I was heavy into consoles at the time and pretty much ignored pc gaming ;/

How did you get AA and widescreen working? I had no luck with either last time I tried playing.

Far Cry 3

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Yeeahh, gettin' real close to those low resolution textures displayed at a mere 1080p. Working on a 2880x1620 solution right now.

Thanks! I'm keeping my original copies jealously, they are my precioussss! :D
That's a pity you played almost only on consoles, that was a great period for PC gaming also, especially for technical improvements.

Anyway, this game has still a lot of value, there are so many features that have been implemented in games which came later, I think that NOLF represents Monolith at its best.

For the widescreen (unfortunately I can't get past 1920X1200, trying 2560X1600 makes the game reset the resolution to 640X480X16) and the installation follow this guide: http://www.play-old-pc-games.com/2012/05/23/no-one-lives-forever/

Regarding the filters, well, I have only forced them through nVidia Control Panel, and they work flawlessy, except for some tedious flickering lines at the borders of the screen. Just ALT+TAB to make them disappear. :)

Ok will try that, so a down sampled image would be a larger file size than a normal 1080 in bmp format?

Yes .

A screenshot taken at 4k (BMP) is 23.7 MB.

Re sizing that image down to 1080 (still BMP) is 5.93 MB.

Now if we re size that 4k image again but this time convert it to PNG we get 3.20 MB

With converting to Jpeg's that number is even lower .

(Saving people's bandwith )
You should see now why we prefer PNG and/or Losless Jpegs .

Thanks for the link, looks like I'll be replaying NOLF over christmas :)

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

People of a certain stature getting really pissed that all of everybody was doing Topaz shots, "Muddying" the novelty of it.

Going to give down sampling a go soon, first time for everything...

Warframe looks and runs great when downsampled.

Both those faces look like they just masturbated.
