OMG...Carnivores HD out on PS3 today (Invert option now available)

I was hoping the bump was about the patch being released but still cool that more people will get to play it soon. I've already 100%ed it, I just want the ability to hunt the other dinos and such.

Also, demoncarnotaur, I've been forever waiting for you to accept my friend request on PS3... assuming I have your name right...
 
Hmm, shouldn't the HD T-Rex have a bit of plumage? Dino-science has advanced a bit since 1998, and there is now considerable support for the theory that the T-Rex had some degree of feathers on its body.

It should but it's easy to forgive since it's a low budget release on last gen hardware. Rendering feathers is hard.... just ask Team Ico ;_; =P

Yes, definitely. If you would like a slower paced, thinking shooter where wind direction, sound and field of view matter, then yes. If you like patiently stalkng your prey or camping out at a water source waiting for game to come your way, get it.


And being able to play music from the hdd (Jurassic Park OST of course) is a bonus.

I am happy to tell you that Carnivores HD is out in Europe and US version can now be patched to 1.0.1
There is invert option for Y and X axis. Also you can tweak look sensitivity and swap sticks for left-handed players.

Update is out, whoop whoop!


Dollars changed to gems, inverting stuff, alternate control scheme, and you get gems for killing the fodder stuff, like the pteras and galis.
 
Oh, I was kinda hoping you would be a velociraptor (the ninja of the dinosaur world) and go around stalking prey, slice their bellies open with your big claw, and eat them. But this seems fun too.
 
Had a blast playing this game (before the update even) and I was pleasantly surprised to see there was an update when I booted it up at a belated xmas party. It didn't mean much for me since the controls were fine enough for me to 100% it pre-patch but it was nice being able to show new people the game and not having to tell them to ignore the gallimus because they won't get rewarded. They were always the first target to everyone who has played it at my place.

And I see there are some devs here. Thanks for the game. As a dino-nut, it's a real treat. Next up, being a dino hunting other dinos.

Just got a PSN email saying this is on vita, but looking at the store, is it the PSP version?


Edit: link in the email takes me to the PS3 version, so the email must be incorrect. But there is a 'carnivores bundle' on the vita store, is that just the two minis bundled up?
 
I just found out about this game today while browsing the PS3 store looking for games to go towards the Spend $60 get $10 promotion. It looked to be good to be good true when I saw it on the store. I thought that this would surely be a on rails game. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it wasn't. Why didn't I see this thread when it was created? This looks great. Should I get it?
 
My daughter and I play it quite a bit. It is really fun. She is 9 and loves playing it by herself. You will not be disappointed, it is exactly what it sets out to be. A cheap downloadable title with a fair amount of challenge. It looks decent too.


My 9 year old wanted me to tell you "The game is awesome and its a little bit hard to find the dinosaurs, but most are easy to kill. Make sure to run around with your GPS (press triangle) out so you know where they are, and you can see if they know where you are!"


Gods truth, she just told me to tell you that!

edit: I bet if this thread had Dinosaurs in the title I would have noticed it when it was made.

That's a PS3 version ported to PC with many things fixed and lots of tasty stuff planned.
New dinosaurs, weapons and levels - all depends on the campaign success.
