I think the upward-ring is her up-air - it shares a similar ring animation to her down-air, and she seemingly falls after performing it. It's not far of a stretch to think that she short hopped into a Uair.
Only one or two more? No chance. Smash Bros., to the casual audience that Sakurai likes so much, lives on newcomers. Additionally, if the newcomer slots were that limited, we wouldn't be getting a Mario newcomer when more hype/advertising could be generated with new franchise newcomers. We will get at the very least ten, probably more.

Totally fair, I'd even agree upon taking another look.
I expect at least four more. Newcomer reveal rate will like pick up soon anyway. Even a Smash Direct revealing 2 newcomers and like, 4 veterans.

I'm thinking about 10-13 newcomers. They have more people and nothing as intensive as SSE to drain resources (I imagine that there's probably not going to be rampant feature bloat like Brawl either), but a tighter schedule and multiple platforms so it could go higher or lower.
Honestly not a fan. It looks like they took the Shonen style designs for Link from recent 3D Zelda's and jumped off a cliff with it, not that I really mind that kind of style for Zelda but to me it never captured the classic "feel". ALBW Link for reference is possibly my favorite incarnation of Link in years because it does a great job of blending the classic and modern looks.
Going forward, I expect to see a newcomer in each of the major bimonthly Nintendo Directs up until Fall 2014: February, April, June (E3), and August (and maybe September/October). Thats at least four more newcomers. I also think there will be a few hidden newcomers that won't be revealed until after launch.
Yep. It's also why all the "wahh Ice Climbers" stuff I'm seeing on the net is so weird.

Melee had 13 newcomers. Brawl had 15. 10 is on the low end and fairly reasonable.
So... One or two more than we know now? And that's assuming he hasn't shown hidden characters? I doubt it.
There is precedent for kirby NOT 100% copying a neutral B, and that is w/ olimar. He just throws the pikmin, akin to olimar's side b. He could just quickly summon a luma to do one attack and then it goes away.
Brawl actually had 16 -- 18 if you count the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon as separate characters (which they technically are).

Brawl had tons of newcomers. I honestly think we will have around 10 and some characters from Melee/Brawl won't make it in.
I wasn't counting Toon Link, but yeah Pokemon Trainer should probably count for more.
B-but GAF told me that that game looks horrible!

See, Luma is the ultimate Villager destroyer.
I can see five or six revealed before release, with the other six+ being hidden characters. But five or six in total? Can't see it happening.

Whoops that was supposed to be in the other smash thread. Had both of them opened.
To answer though like I said oddly enough Snakes brawl inclusion was almost in some ways advertising for MGS4 with the music and Gekko inclusion. Doesn't really mean anything but I could see them doing something odd since Snake's main inclusion was because him and Sakurai are friends.

It's possible it was mistranslated, and maybe he just meant that it was proving to be a complication or that it would require a lot more work than anticipated.
