JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation |OT| Your next post will be... OH MY GOD!

I've read some additional comments posted about Jojo Pt3 from Ultra Jump. Seems interesting.

- They're really focused on making the Stand battles move in a visceral fashion. Sounds like they might actually have animation this time.

- They seem acutely aware of the difference in medium between anime and manga. They want to be faithful, but at the same time take advantage of animation as a medium. They're also trying hard to make the fights look intelligible instead of being confusing, because unlike manga where you can stop and read and re-read if you don't get something, anime is a continuous thing. (Especially on TV I suppose!)

- The new character designer has been redoing designs over and over to get the right look so the animation can feel intense.

- They want to get the right performance for the balance between voices, sound effects, and music, and so they're doing fresh auditions for the series. But the auditions don't exclude the people who were already cast in the PS3 game, so they might get the same roles or even different ones, depending on how the auditions go.

- Along with the main cast announcement at Jump Festa, there should also be a trailer screened.

That sounds great, as entertaining as the first two parts were, the animation in those was pretty poor.

It was actually pretty refreshing watching the part 3 ovas.

Hopefully they'll step they're game up. I want to be surpised.

This is going to be soooo good.

Well that explains why the voice cast might be different. So there's still a chance we might see some of them return, even if it's not for the same character.

were the anime designs posted?

They look pretty good, although Joseph is kinda iffy.

What's the consensus on whether I should reach the manga or watch the anime to catch up on my Jojo?

The manga is fine but the art of the early arcs are iffy at best, terrible at worst. Some of the worst porportions you'll ever see in ink. I suggest reading the manga anyway, as the anime is ongoing, only covered 1/10 of the entire series and will most likely skip stuff in the upcoming new season.

Isn't it more like 2/8ths at this point?

I'd say watch the anime for Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency then read the manga for everything past that. The art is much better past the first two and there will likely be some awesome fights cut in the adaption.

Also what's up with Pierre's mouth

my brother asked me when the next jojo anime was coming and, since i didn't know, i came here to check.
3.5 months from now is pretty close.

hype through the roof! ora ora ora!

Jotaro kinda weirds me out though because his hat and hair don't blend together like it usually does. His hat is one color, then the hair is another, and then for no reason at all the lower part of his hair behind his neck is the color of his hat wat

No, his hat and hair are definitely the same color. The grey part of the hair at the back is a shadow highlight. All the characters have two-tone hair for lighting purposes.
